Brand New Vinyl Reissue of “One Night In Nashville” From Country Rock Icons POCO!

Los Angeles, CA - Long before Wilco or The Jayhawks or Ryan Adams, there was one country rock band that towered over all others. Founded by former members of the brilliant Buffalo Springfield, Richie Furay and Jim Messina, along with multi-instrumentalist Rusty Young and drummer George Grantham, Poco pioneered a blend of sounds that would come to dominate singles charts and radio for years to come. Indeed, some of Poco’s most beloved tracks are still treasured by fans today including “Crazy Love,” “Heart Of The Night,” “Call It Love” and “Rose Of Cimarron.” These songs as well as the nearly 20 studio albums the band released over the years have ensured that the Poco legend endures.

While Poco’s recording output is well-known and widely celebrated, the band’s live performances are the true treasures for longtime fans. One very special concert occurred one night in Nashville, TN in 2004. Original members Furay, Young and Grantham all participated as well as longtime member Paul Cotton. Together, the group offers up fantastic renditions of their biggest hits and most beloved songs. Now this special live performance is being released on glorious vinyl in a limited-edition TRANSLUCENT BLUE as well as on digipak CD. It’s a superb package that fans old and young will not want to miss!

Craft, a Post-Enid Band Project From the Early 1980s, Has Their Sole Album 'First Signs' Re-Released with 8 Bonus Tracks as a Definitive Edition. OUT NOW!

Long deleted sole album by three prog ambassadors from The Enid, William Gilmour, Martin Russell (who would go on to form Afro Celt Sound System) and Pride of Passion’s Grant Gilmour.

Including eight bonus tracks, four of which are remixes from the original set along with two previously unreleased tracks ‘Despina’ and ‘Dmitri’s Lament’.

With artwork by Willie Gilmour and liner notes by Martin Russell detailing the history of the band and the making of the album.

Featuring pieces inspired by signs of the Zodiac, the album has been out of print since the mid-1990s, this definitive edition has been remastered from the original master tapes by Martin Russell, this definitive re-release a labour of love for everyone involved.

Of the definitive re-release, Martin Russell said “I'm so happy that this body of music (from half our lives ago!) is getting a carefully-curated release befitting this century's listeners, whether they've previously heard the 1984 vinyl, the 1991 CD or are coming fresh to what we did back then. Reconnecting with Willie and Grant and recollecting our ambition and our collective bond has been an unexpected and joyful by-product of preparing this definitive edition. I'm very grateful for the opportunity we've been given to revisit our musical past and to provide a glimpse into 'what might have been' via the additional content.”

Rich Chambers releases cross-genre hit 'I Wonder'

Vancouver, Canada based artist Rich Chambers is going from strength to strength. Following his successful single release from September, “High School Can’t Last Forever,” Chambers adds another infectious pop/rock song to his catalog. Using three basic chords as his foundation, Chambers has built a simple yet effective melody, sing-alongable gang choruses and crafty guitar hooks into his new single “I Wonder.” A Rock N’ Roll track that would not be out of place in the Country, Easy-Listening, or Top 40 Charts, “I Wonder” is perfect for your playlist because of its fresh sound and optimistic nature.

Speaking about the new release, Rich Chambers shares, “Those who know me, know that I often talk about how personal songwriting is or how I am often trying to reflect upon some aspect of the human condition and/or experience in a song, but they also know that a part of me also fully embraces and enjoys the ‘guilty pleasure’ aspect of music and songwriting. Not all songs have to mean something. Sometimes a song is simply about enjoying the music and having fun, which is where ‘I Wonder’ comes from. The song was a pile of fun to write and even more fun to record!”

A sentiment of fun shines convincingly through in this bubblegum pop meets rock song that Chambers likes to simply call a ‘guilty pleasure’... and this is merely the beginning! Following “I Wonder,” Rich has countless single and album releases planned for well into 2022 as he sets out to establish himself as the voice of vintage  yet freshly modern Rock N’ Roll for the 2020s!

Psychedelic artist Maha Jeffery releases ballad infused number 'Daisy'

Maha Jeffery started off as a bedroom musician at the young age of 17… fast forward to the present day and he’s known for his electrifying showmanship coupled with powerful vocals. Cementing himself as the most distinguishable voice in the Malaysian music scene, Maha’s new offering ‘Daisy’ certainly lives up to expectations. Bringing you up to speed, Maha spent his multi-instrumental days sessioning for various acts in Malaysia but stepped into the spotlight on his own when he released his first single ‘Sleep’. He then fronted hard-hitting rock band, TMJB, playing venues all around South East Asia, and events for high profile multinational companies and celebrities. Maha is currently based in Camden, London.

He released his 2018 EP 'Changes' while living in Oxford, UK and coupled it with a mini tour around London, Manchester, Amsterdam and Oxford .Upon returning to Malaysia, he spent 2 years focusing on TMJB before Covid hit and they disbanded. He spent a year learning how to produce his own music and returned with his first solo release in 2 years with 'Watermelon Juice'. In 2021, he has released 4 singles so far, all culminating towards his first full length album, C.A.I.S.O (Con Artist Intergalactic Space Opera) to be released in 2022.

Speaking about the enchanting new release ‘Daisy’, Maha had this to say, “Daisy is about finding solace in grief. It's about seeking comfort in the loss of a loved one through the memories you had with them. I wrote this song for my girlfriend whose grandfather had recently passed at the time. It was never intended to be for me. It wasn't until my own grandfather passed when I realised that maybe it was meant for me as well.”

Armed with an uplifting, nostalgic approach, the track feels like you’ve gone through the five stages of grief and are now in the acceptance phase. Entirely reassuring and relatable, this could be in the running for rock record of the year. Adding to how the track was created, Maha shares, “My girlfriend asked me to write a song for her about grief to help her cope with her loss. I always write my songs acoustically first because I am in the firm belief that if a song sounds good stripped down, it's a good song.

I remember when I first played it to her and she loved it. This was also around the time I was learning how to produce my own music so once I had it done, I started building the full form on Ableton, so with drums, bass, electric guitar, strings etc. Once I was happy with the demo, I shot it over to my producer so we could work on fully fleshing it out. What really made it for me was my girlfriend's reaction when I finally let her listen to the final master.

The Pink Fairies Complete Re-Releases of the Band’s 1990s Albums Alongside a Compilation Featuring Two Newly Completed Tracks – All Out Now!

In the late 1990s a two-man line-up of the iconic Pink Fairies band, Paul Rudolph and Twink, recorded a pair of albums called Pleasure Island (1996) and No Picture (1997) which only received a limited release at the time. The band has now approved re-mastered re-releases of both albums via Cherry Red.

During the preparation of the re-releases, two incomplete tracks came to light. “Do You Remember?” and “Bugman” have now been released for the first time on a new compilation of recordings from the era, called Duo, which also features newly written liner notes chronicling this 1990s chapter of the band’s history.

Paul Rudolph said: "It was a lot of fun to work with Twink on 'Pleasure Island' and 'No Picture'. A visit turned into a totally spontaneous happening with things coming together on the spot, not unlike a Pink Fairies gig, rehearsal or recording session. Riding the energy of the Universe in the moment. For me, 'Cargoe in Jamaica' from the 'Pleasure Island' CD is very reminiscent of the Pink Fairies live. Working with Twink’s lyrics reminded me of our collaboration writing 'Do It'.

Twink added: "Working with Paul again, albeit at a distance, has reminded me of the great and fun times we had together making the albums 'Pleasure Island' and 'No Picture' back in the 90s. The remastered versions just released by Cherry Red Records sound amazing. I've heard the remastered version of the 'Duo' compilation with previously unreleased recordings included and it sounds equally amazing. I sincerely hope we will get a chance to work together again in the future. Hey Captain .... Don't forget the sea biscuits!!"

The Pink Fairies are also on Spotify (https://geni.us/PFspo) and Apple Music (https://geni.us/PFam).

"Do you remember, Love and Peace, it was the time that we hit the streets, the days were long, we played for free, it was the time of the Pink Fairies" (lyrics from "Do You Remember?" on the Duo CD)

Raw Terra Releases First Two-Sided Single “Every Little Bit” and “I Don't Need You”!

Raw Terra released his new two-sided single on December 3, 2021! Raw Terra is the alter-ego of musician Richard d’Andrea. Primarily a bassist, he is also a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He was an early member of The Motels (in the historic Radio Free Hollywood lineup), The Know (with Gary Valentine and Joel Turrisi) and later forming Factor Four with Jeff Wolfe and joining The Roosters United with Jeff Jourard and Graham Daddy. He has also performed or recorded with many other musicians including Joan Jett, Michael Des Barres, The Halibuts, The Insect Surfers, The Furys, The Textones, The Roosters United, Bob Beland, Marc Platt, David Nigel Lloyd, Fur Dixon and Joao Erbetta.

After decades of playing in bands he decided to mix it up and embarked on solo recordings of his own compositions. 2018 marked the released of his first solo album “Mars 12, Earth 0” and soon after the same album's backing tracks: “Mars 12, Earth 0 - (Instrumentals)” (a nod to “Stack-o-Tracks”). The music ranges from Surf and Neo-60’s to driving Alt and Indie rock and ends with a hypnotic tone poem.

“Mystery Monkey Remix”, released August 2019, revisits and remixes two songs from that first album: “(Waitin’ for The) Mystery Train” is given a clearer, more punchier mix and “Monkey See, Monkey Do” is reworked with electric 12-string guitar and new vocals.

Original songs “Every Little Bit” and “I Don’t Need You” make up his first 2-sided single release (December 2021) and he is working on the other songs that will comprise his second, as yet unnamed, album. “Every Little Bit” has never been recorded or performed with a band while the song “I Don’t Need You” might have been heard being performed by the Factor Four band in the mid 80’s in Los Angeles. Both songs were recorded by Raw Terra this past spring and summer.

Says Richard, “My work on this CD or album has just begun and I’m releasing the songs as I finish them - on my first album I waited until all were finished (which took a long time) before releasing it. So, I thought I would try to do it incrementally this time. ‘Every Little Bit’ was written as a stream of consciousness but seems to have two main themes: one is about being fed up with certain aspects of life and the other a confession of attraction and desire for another. ‘I Don't Need You’ is a somewhat snotty break-up song - probably directed to the girl in the previous song! These are the first two songs finished and I also started on many others. Some are new while the older ones had been written with the band I was in at the time in mind. Too many songs go uncompleted... so this is proving to be a good opportunity and impetus to finally finish songs off and record them.”

In closing, Richard has this to say about the two new songs, “Stream it loud (and often)!”

Digitally released by DistroKid for streaming and download at all the usual places.

Digital downloads or purchase: Amazon, Apple Music and iTunes, Bandcamp streaming and full digital list: Amazon, Anghami, Apple Music, MediaNet, Boomplay, Deezer, Instagram/Facebook, iHeartRadio, ClaroMusica, iTunes, KKBox, NetEase, Qobuz, Pandora, Saavn, Spotify, Tencent, Tidal, TikTok/Resso, Triller (beta), Soundtrack by Twitch, and Yandex Music (beta)

Uriah Heep and Trapeze Ex-Lead Singer Peter Goalby Announces the First Release of His Long-Lost Solo Album ‘Easy with the Heartaches’ – Out Now!

Peter Goalby was the lead singer of Uriah Heep during the band’s classic Abominog era and also wrote their 1980s hit “Blood Red Roses.” He sang on the band’s albums Head First and Equator plus he’s also known for his time in Trapeze. Peter Goalby is now retired from the music industry.

After leaving the band, Peter Goalby recorded a number of solo songs, however, they were left unreleased until now. There has been constant speculation from fans on when they might hear the songs, given it was business reasons that precluded the release of the album at the time, but the way has now been cleared for the music to finally be heard.

The new artwork has been overseen and approved by Peter Goalby and its release has come about thanks to fans persistently pushing to hear these legendary lost recordings.

Peter Goalby said: “Finally, my best songs will be heard. Thirty years on. Never say never. I am so thrilled with my album release. I know I have a lot of friends out there who have wanted this day to arrive for many years. Thank you for sticking with me for all this time. I hope you love 'Easy With The Heartaches' as much as I do. Thank you.”

All the tracks were written by Goalby, except for three tracks co-written with Robin George. The vocal led style will appeal to Uriah Heep and Trapeze fans who have never stopped loving his voice.

Elton John Guitar Legend Davey Johnstone To Release First Single ‘Melting Snow” From Forthcoming Solo Album!

Brand new solo album from long-term Elton John guitarist Davey Johnstone
Recorded during the pandemic hiatus that postponed Elton John’s Farewell Tour
A personal triumph following his debut “Smiling Face” some 48 years after its 1973 release.

Davey Johnstone has been Elton John’s guitarist for 50 years. He has also played with Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Stevie Nicks, Lenny Kravitz and many, many more! In his role as Music Director he will resume the hugely successful Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour with Elton and the band in January 2022.

Davey is releasing the first single “Melting Snow” from his forthcoming solo album “Deeper Than My Roots”!
Watch the video for “Melting Snow”:

During the COVID-19 recess, Davey has recorded an album utilizing the incredible talents of his children, plus a few close friends. The album has a wide range and crosses genres.

Elliot, the youngest Johnstone, is lead vocalist on the record, with Davey supplying one lead vocal himself. Charlie Johnstone recorded many of the basic tracks at their home in California. Charlie also supplied keyboard and background vocal parts. Jesse Johnstone played drums remotely from his home in L.A. Jesse also joined his father and eldest sibling Tam Johnstone, on writing, recording and producing the album’s two instrumentals, “Black Scotland” and “Walt Dizney”. The beautiful artwork for the sleeve was conceived and designed by Juliet Johnstone.

Denny Seiwell, the legendary drummer from Paul McCartney and Wings helped out on three tracks, and Nigel Olsson supplied drums on “Melting Snow”.

Much of the recording was done by Major Wynn at Marlon Hoffman’s Kenrose Studio in California.

Davey Johnstone’s forthcoming full-length album titled “Deeper Than My Roots” will be available on Spirit of Unicorn Records in January 2022.

Manticore Records Relaunching Under the Auspices of Regina Lake, Widow of Legendary Greg Lake

A personal statement from Regina

It was always Greg's wish to reinstate the Manticore Records Label.

Greg's idea, in his own words, was to give new, talented musicians the chance to be heard, when other doors might have been closed to them for being different.
Greg was once one such young Musician.
He had put everything in place for Manticore Records to start up again, but as we know, it wasn’t possible for Greg to be there to realise his vision.

Just a few days before Greg died, he asked me if I would like to carry on with Manticore Records, after he had gone?
Greg had already put everything into my name, ready for me to take his place.
He said it was entirely up to me.
If I wasn’t tempted to take it on, I could just let it go.
I told him, as I am sentimental about Manticore, having been there in the early days, I would give it my best, with a lot of help from my friends and advisers, including Greg’s long term manager Stewart Young, and Martin Darvill, co-manager since 2008..

On reflection I would like this label to be devoted to Greg Lake Music and Songs to keep his legacy alive for us all in years to come.

Regina Lake

The first project will be a definitive collection of Greg Lake’s solo catalogue. Also, watch a rare video of Greg singing “I believe in Father Christmas” live premiering soon here: https://youtu.be/zP33z3lGHyo.

Besides working with David Cross he has also orchestrated the music of Robert Fripp (The Wine of Silence), arranged for Tim Bowness (Abandoned Dancehall Dreams) as well as playing with alt-rock band, The Gong Farmers. Keeling has also written a series of Musical Guides exploring the music of such bands as King Crimson.

“October is Marigold” is the second album from David Cross (electric violin) and Andrew Keeling (flute) and it is the third to appear on Noisy Records’ ‘Electric Chamber Music’ label. Perhaps more strikingly than its predecessors, this recording epitomises the aims of that label to present music designed for an intimate setting which makes use of musical and electronic techniques used in rock. Cross and Keeling’s “English Sun” was released in 2009 (followed by a handful of gigs) and the duo recorded much of “October is Marigold” in the same year. These tracks lay dormant until 2020 when work recommenced on the new album.

Whereas “English Sun” encapsulates the vibrance of summer, “October is Marigold” portrays darker, melancholic autumnal atmospheres. The music is again mostly improvised, the exceptions being a previously written organ part for the title track and two guitar loops. Although the performances are spontaneous there is a clearer sense of architecture here, with the “Marigold” cello/piano theme arching in four incarnations across the album. Nature continues to be an inspiration, with field recordings of birds finding a natural place alongside pizzicato violin and fluttering flute. Cross demonstrates the full potential of the electric violin with, for example, a haunting, muted trumpet-like sound on the title track and the earthy, evocative use of cello pitched violin. Keeling’s flute seems to embody the human response to the realities of nature, breathing, tumbling and bending with the wind. Throughout, there is an uninhibited flow across musical reference points – hints of folk, blues and romance are exposed as the duo travel through this stark autumnal landscape.

Prog Ensemble Oxygene8 Featuring Linda Cushma To Re-release Two Songs In Honor of Emmett Chapman

Oxygene8 will re-release two tracks from the 2003 album, POETICA, in honor of Emmett Chapman, inventor of the Chapman Stick. The tracks selected are ‘heavy on the rhythm section’ featuring Linda Cushma on Chapman Stick and Tim Alexander on drums. After hearing tracks from the POETICA album, Emmett had once mentioned that it was the way he intended the Chapman Stick to be played & heard. This is for you, Emmett.

“STAND” is a timely track and was the first song written and performed by O8 with the Chapman Stick. “FUNKERNICKEL” is a fun little track played live in the studio with co-writers of the album, Tim Alexander on drums, Frank D’Angelo on guitar and Linda Cushma on vocals & bass/Chapman Stick.

QUIET RIOT's Longtime Bassist CHUCK WRIGHT Releases First Official Single & Video "ARMY OF ME" From His Debut Solo Album, CHUCK WRIGHT'S SHELTERING SKY!

Los Angeles, CA - Long-time bassist for multi-platinum rockers Quiet Riot, Chuck Wright, proudly presents the release of the first single from his new solo album. Wright has also worked alongside such rock music luminaries as Alice Cooper, Greg Allman, Ted Nugent, various members of Guns N’ Roses and Kiss to name a few, and now embarks on his first-ever solo excursion.

The first single is a hard-rocking, intense interpretation of Björk’s 1995 hit “Army of Me” and is accompanied by a video that represents Wright’s exploration into disorder and parallels with the recent chaotic state of world affairs. The visuals include a 3D animation of an “army” of Ruth Bader Ginsburgs, the late Supreme Court Justice, feminist icon, and steadfast advocate for women’s rights and gender equality. “I chose to recognize the late Justice Ginsburg in this video as she was such a formidable presence on and off the bench. She challenged the status quo knocking down legal obstacles to women’s equality and inspired an army of believers.”

The track “Army Of Me” features several of Wright’s musical peers including the late Pat Torpey (Mr. Big) on drums, guitarist Lanny Cordola (House of Lords), and Sven Martin (Jonathan Davis Band) on keyboards along with songstress Whitney Tai, the recent “Best Vocalist” winner at The Intercontinental Music Awards.

Stream/download the single: https://orcd.co/chuck_wrights_sheltering_sky_army_of_me

The full-length album from Chuck Wright's Sheltering Sky, coming in 2022, features over 30 guest performers including members of Mr. Big, Skid Row, Tesla, Dream Theater, Great White, Asia, Jefferson Starship, acclaimed solo artists Allen Hinds, Toshi Yanagi, and many others. Wright is finally stepping out on his own with a wide range of genres, from Jazz Fusion, Prog, Funk to in-your-face Hard Rock, which was in itself one of the things that led him to want to forge his own way and create this unique collection of songs within his “Sheltering Sky” project.

YES Original Founding Guitarist Peter Banks Showcased in Two Separate Compilations – 'The Best of Empire' and 'The Best of Harmony in Diversity'. OUT NOW!

Two very different aspects to the career accomplishments of original YES guitarist Peter Banks are being celebrated in the release of two separate compilations. Peter Banks passed away in 2013 but his repertoire has been carefully curated so it can be appreciated for generations to come.

The Best of Empire

Peter Banks co-founded Empire with co-writer and lead vocalist, Sydney Foxx, and the band recorded three albums of material in the 1970s, however, it all remained unreleased until the 1990s.

This hard-to-find material was collected together into a 3 disc set, The Complete Recordings in 2017, and The Best of Empire draws on that material. These recordings showcase Peter in a rock band setting and include their best-known song, “Sky at Night”.

Empire was very much a collaborative band between Banks and Foxx and this compilation was overseen by Foxx who recalls, “Working with Peter was a wonderful experience. Although he was the 'leader of the band' and the 'producer', he allowed me total freedom to write the melodies and lyrics that I wanted to. We never had any disagreements about the music we worked on. We split everything 50/50 and got on with it. He was inspiring, fun, and always creative. Never running out of ideas! I enjoyed the long rehearsals getting everything perfect, and our many 'all night' mixing sessions in the studio. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him. And so proud of the work we did together.”

The Best of Empire is available on CD here: https://geni.us/BestEmpCD

Empire’s The Complete Recordings 3 CD set is still available here: https://geni.us/PBME1

Empire can be found on Apple Music (https://geni.us/EmpireA) and Spotify (https://geni.us/EmpireSP).

The Best of Harmony in Diversity

Peter Banks co-founded Harmony in Diversity in 2004 with the band also featuring Andrew Booker and Nick Cottam. The musical style of this trio significantly differed from Empire with a repertoire of improvised instrumentals.

The music of Harmony in Diversity was collected together into a 6 disc set, also called The Complete Recordings, so this compilation gives fans a selective taster.

Andrew Booker said, “This is a terrific selection of HiD pieces that pushed the needle uppermost on our 'ooooh, I really like that bit' detectors. It’s a surprisingly multi-directional mixture too, from bare-faced live improvisations, to the highly structured latter-day arrangements, with some oddball fun here and there, and Peter’s sublime and searing guitar coursing through the whole lot.”

Nick Cottam added, "It is great that the eclectic elements of HiD will now be available on a more easily digestible one CD format."

The Best of Harmony in Diversity is available on CD here: https://geni.us/BestHiDCD

Harmony in Diversity’s The Complete Recordings 6 CD set is still available here: https://geni.us/PBME4

All of the Harmony in Diversity albums are available alongside Peter’s solo albums on Apple Music (https://geni.us/PBapple) and Spotify (https://geni.us/PBspotify).

MAGMA “BBC 1974 LONDON” 2 LP Red Vinyl Limited Edition Numbered Gatefold 180g Audiophile Now Available For Pre-Order!

Available November 26 For RSD BLACK FRIDAY

This high quality recording carried out on March 14th, 1974 in the London BBC studios, is here carefully remastered for a vinyl release. This double LP includes two Magmaian masterpieces in unique versions, performed by the group that was at the origin of their creation. If the completed versions played by the MAGMA of 75-76 are most familiar to us, those offered us here present a major interest on several levels: their structure first of all, which at that time was not yet finalized, and comprised sequences which were subsequently either re-arranged, thereafter in a different way, or deleted: THEUSZ HAMTAAHK whose pseudo-slowness of tempo is matched only by the contained violence that inhabits it, and KÖHNTARKÖSZ where the magic of the keyboards brings to this work an alternative just as bewitching as the one engendered at the Taverne de l'Olympia the following year, by the divine soaring of Didier LOCKWOOD’s violin.

Steppenwolf “Magic Carpet Ride: The Dunhill / ABC Years (1967-1971)” 8CD Set To Be Released November 19, 2021

• NEWLY REMASTERED EIGHT DISC BOXED SET FEATURING EACH ALBUM RECORDED BY THE LEGENDARY STEPPENWOLF FOR THE DUNHILL/ABC LABEL BETWEEN 1967 AND 1971
• WITH 26 BONUS TRACKS DRAWN FROM RARE SINGLES AND MONO MIXES

• REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL DUNHILL/ABC MASTER TAPES

Steppenwolf was formed in 1967 in LA by John Kay (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Goldy McJohn (organ, piano) and Jerry Edmonton (drums) who were previously members of the Canadian band The Sparrows. They were joined by Michael Monarch (lead guitar) and Rushton Moreve (bass). The band signed to Dunhill/ABC the same year and with producer Gabriel Mekler they recorded their self-titled debut album. The band were propelled to success with their classic single “Born To Be Wild” (a #2 hit in the USA) and became even wider known when the track was featured, along with their version of “The Pusher” in the classic 1969 counterculture film “Easy Rider”.

“The Second” was released in October ‘68 and featured the hit single “Magic Carpet Ride” (another US #2 hit). In March ‘69 “At Your Birthday Party” was released to further success and was their first record to feature Nick St Nicholas on bass and their last to feature Michael Monarch. The July 1969 release “Early Steppenwolf” featured live recordings made at The Matrix in San Francisco in May 1967 and featured a 20-minute version of “The Pusher”.

The band’s next studio album, “Monster”, was issued in November 1969 and dealt with America’s involvement in the Vietnam War. 1970 saw the band release two albums, the double LP “Steppenwolf Live” and “Steppenwolf 7”. By the release of the latter the band’s popularity began to wane slightly, although they would retain a large and loyal fan base. Their November 1971 album “For Ladies Only” was their last for Dunhill/ABC and Steppenwolf disbanded in February 1972 only to reform in 1974.
