Italian Bassist ALBERTO RIGONI Announces New Album “Songs for Souls” in Memory of His Father, Feat. Jordan Rudess, Mark Zonder & More!

Italian bass master and composer ALBERTO RIGONI (solo, BAD As, Natural Born Machine, Bassists Alliance Project, Vivaldi Metal Project etc.) has announced his new album, entitled “Songs for Souls”, in memory of his Father recently passed away. The album features Jordan Rudess and Mark Zonder + other musicians, to be announced.

Alberto stated: “Dear all, as you may have read I was going to give up with music but suddenly my father (Professor at the University of Padua and author of poems and tales) passed away 2 weeks ago... So I decided to make an album in his honor. It will be instrumental with some incredible special guests such as Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning) and many others to be announced. Born in 1981, Alberto Rigoni is an Italian bass player and composer, internationally known for his career as a solo artist and as a member of the metal band BAD As, The Italians, Natural Born Machines Lady & THE BASS,  co-producer of the Vivaldi Metal Project and member of progressive rock band TwinSpirits (no more active).

Between 2008 and 2020 Alberto has released worldwide 9 solo albums (Something Different, Rebirth, Three Wise Monkeys, Overloaded, BASSORAMA, Duality, EvoRevolution, Prog Injection, Odd Times), spanning from progressive rock metal to fusion. His albums also featured legendary musicians such as Kevin Moore (ex Dream Theater), Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson), Marco Minnemann (the Aristocrats), Göran Edman (ex Yngwie Malmsteen), Michael Manring and many others.

Alberto has been featured on the cover of magazines such as Bass Magazine (Japan), Bass Musician Magazine (USA), Bajos Y Bajistas (Spain), Basistas (Poland), TOP BASS (Poland). Moreover, in March 2015 the prestigious Bass Guitar Magazine (UK) released Alberto’s CD anthology called “Into THE BASS.”

Alberto has also recorded for several international artists such as Italian pop singer Alexia and he is also playing bass for Canadian rock singer and songwriter Kim Bingham (ex-Nelly Furtado) and The Italians, sharing stages with artists such as Alan Parson, Suzanne Vega, Jørn Lande, Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore and others.

In 2016 founded a new metal band called BADASS (now called BAD As) which released three albums (More Pain More Gain, Midnight Curse and Crucified Society.

On December 15th 2017, Rigoni together with bassist Jeff Hughell (Six Feet Under) released a new studio project called Bassists Alliance. The first album “Crush” featured top notch bassists such as Michael Manring, Adam Nitti, Steve di Giorgio, Colin Edwin, Mark Mitchell, Scott Reeder, Dmitry Lisenko, Brandino BassMaster, Ryan Martini, Leonid Maksimov, Tony Grey.

In 2019 founded a new AOR band called “Natural Born Machine” featuring famous Pink Cream 69 singer David Readman. Their debut album “Human” was released on February 19th 2021 by Pride and Joy Music.

Currently he is also collaborating with famous producer Hiro Furuya (Elton John, Eric Clapton, etc) and many others as session bassist.

His tenth album “For The Love of Bass” feat. all star bassists such as Nathan East, Lee Sklar, Michael Manring, Doug Wimbish and many others was released on April 2nd 2021 and it’s available worldwide.

JORDAN RUDESS, best known as the keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire for platinum-selling Grammy-nominated prog rock band, DREAM THEATER, has released his latest solo piano recording, ALL THAT IS NOW. The album contains 13 pieces, composed and performed by JORDAN on his favorite instrument, a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. The album was created as part of a PledgeMusic crowdsourcing campaign in which almost 1,000 fans pledged between $10 to$5,000 in exchange for updates on his recording process and a battery of prizes ranging from private lessons to backstage passes. The PledgeMusic campaign also raised money for RUDESS’ upcoming orchestral album which will be released early in 2014.

Says RUDESS, “This album is very close to my heart. For years, I searched until I found the instrument of my dreams that would be the perfect extension of my musical thought, playing literally every piano I could find all over the world. I found my concert grand seven years ago and, ever since, my deepest musical connection occurs when I play my Steinway. It is my lifetime goal to purely translate the music in my mind, to my hands and then onto the keyboard. This album captures the magic of that connection. The recording was done simply in the piano room of my house using just my Steinway D and Earthworks microphones. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.

In addition to his solo piano CD, ALL THAT IS NOW, RUDESS has also released a WIZDOM MUSIC interactive iOS app, “JORDAN RUDESS EXPLORES,” which enables an interactive aural and visual experience with the music from the CD. JORDAN RUDESS EXPLORES was created by Jordan with developer Joe Zobkiw to explore the intersection between the traditional and electronic world we all live in.

In addition to playing in DREAM THEATER, RUDESS, voted "Best Keyboardist of All Time" by Music Radar Magazine, is the President of a successful music App development company WIZDOM MUSIC (www.wizdommusic.com), creators of award-winning apps such as MorphWiz, SampleWiz, and Geo Synthesizer.  Jordan has worked with a wide range of artists including LMR, his newest side project with Tony Levin and Marco Minneman, Liquid Tension Experiment, David Bowie, Steven Wilson, Aviv Geffen, the Dixie Dregs, Rod Morgenstein, Enrique Iglesias, Tony Williams, Jan Hammer and the Paul Winter Consort. DREAM THEATER’s newest self-titled album was released this fall on Roadrunner Records. Rudess Morgenstein Project Announce Four US Dates

Jordan Rudess and Rod Morgenstein are bringing prog-rock nirvana to the Northeast in November.

Dream Theater keyboard master Jordan Rudess and Dixie Dregs/Winger drum icon Rod Morgenstein are getting their old gang the Rudess Morgenstein Project together again for a select number of shows in the US next month. 

Morgenstein tells MusicRadar that the duo have recorded a sizable amount of new material as a possible follow-up to their 1997 self-titled album. "The only problem we have is finishing things," he says. "With our schedules, it's difficult to know if and when we will ever get to it." He adds that "some of it is really, really good."

In recent years, RMP have performed in Poland, Costa Rica, Venezueala, Mexico, Germany and the UK. After a well-received show at Boston's Berklee College Of Music this past summer, the two decided to fit in more dates before the year was up. "We just have a great time hanging out and jamming," says Morgenstein. "Whenever our schedules can line up, we're going to try to do this sort of thing."

Morgenstein figures that setlists will include material from the original RPM studio album along with some selections from Rudess' solo discs. In addition, the two will perform the title track to Emerson, Lake & Palmer's Tarkus, which Rudess covered on his 2007 album, The Road Home.
