Indie outfit Carpark storm onto the scene with energetic new number ‘The World Ended in 2012’. Taken from their new EP of the same name, the EP and single is out now. Carpark are the relatable, refreshing band with Irish roots that this generation needs. Having only played their first show 6 months ago out of a friend’s garage in Belfast, they have since toured the UK supporting Lauran Hibberd and have become a featured Underground England Soundwave band alongside Yungblud, Beabadoobee, Pale Waves and Nova Twins. Named BBC Introducing Shropshire’s ‘One to Watch’, the group were also named one of Underground England’s ‘Ten Bands to Watch in 2022’.
Speaking about the exceptional new release, Carpark share, “’The World Ended in 2012’ plays upon the 2012 phenomenon and the ancient beliefs that cataclysmic or transformational events would occur at the end of 2012. The song explores the pressures of living in an ever evolving disconnected world where we experience rising feelings of inadequacy while having to deal with feelings of climate grief and uncertainty.”
Fierce, energetic, angsty yet forever thoughtful, there’s something about ‘The World Ended in 2012’ that draws you in further with each listen. An infectious number that captivates your attention, Carpark have certainly unveiled a hit here.
New alternative rock group Lasso Moon merge major Liverpudlian bands BROKEN MEN and SANKOFAto release the love song to the drug codeine ‘Kimota Codeine’. Taking influence from Pixies, Sonic Youthand Nick Cave, Lasso Moon has a minimalistic sound to create more honesty in their music. The single is being released alongside a homemade video that took inspiration from Jim Jarmusch’s ‘Down By Law’, which was filmed in black and white with one static shot.
Watch the music video for ‘Kimota Codeine’ here:
The minimalistic modern guitar sound mixes genres of hard rock, grunge and punk to form a raw honest style like no other. Lasso Moon aim to say something with their music and with ‘Kimota Codeine’ the track explores the theme of transformation, particularly in reference to codeine and how it numbs the stress of modern life. The theme is mirrored in the music video, which shows front man Bobby Westheadsearching for a distraction, conveying that no one gives time to art anymore due to the constant diversion of the internet.
‘Kimota Codeine’ was engineered and co-produced by James Mellor at The Motor Museum Liverpool, where artists such as Oasis,Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg recorded.
Hampshire-based
four-piece, The 109s, are here to put rock riffs back where they belong: loud
and high in the mix, clawing and stomping their way through the speaker cones
to grab listeners by the throat and pummel them into submission . . .
The
109s have taken everything good about Zeppelin,
Sabbath, Royal Blood, AC/DC, Iron
Maiden, MC5, The Stooges, Soundgarden and The Black Keys, and distilled from it a 100-percent-proof
moonshine-mash that is all their own - a heady brew that kicks like a mule,
burns like a mother, but has everyone asking for seconds . . .
The
fantastic power of the band's music is led by vocalist Damian Shelley’s strong
but nuanced delivery and impressive vocal harmonies, while lead guitarist,
Matty Pritchard's short, high-octane solos reference everyone from Jimmy Page to J. Mascis.
Of
course, none of this would be real rock if there wasn't a stunning rhythm
section (Pete Smith, bass, and Steve Collings, drums) who deliver the precision-power
and flair of legendary pairings such as JohnBonham and John Paul Jones, or Keith
Moon and John Entwistle.
The
band's song arrangements are always original and surprising, wringing every
droplet of dynamism and groove from a single riff, before strutting seamlessly
through a flurry of exciting changes that are strung together with the delicacy
of dewdrops on a cobweb.
“High octane
blues rock - very much my thing! Now I just need to see you do it live some
time!” – Award winning crime novelist, Ian Rankin
A
multi-talented artist, lead guitarist, Matty Pritchard, is also an author and
member of the UK Crime Writers Association. He has published three novels in
the UK to date - Scarecrow, Broken Arrow and Werewolf - under the name Matthew Pritchard, and was
nominated for the CWA's Gold Dagger Award.
The
109s' eponymous debut album is due out October 7th
New video 'Thunder Come' by rising pop star Ashley Iona
Combining a compelling ear for storytelling and a mesmerising vocal tone, Ashley Iona comes through with a fresh sound comparable to the likes of Florence and the Machine, Sia and Chet Faker. Currently based in Los Angeles, she has previously lived in countries across the globe from Australia to the UK to Uganda and moved more than 20 times in her life.
“I wanted the video to be a journey – explains Ashley – I wrote the song when I was coming to terms with where my life was and I had this urge to be brutally honest with myself. It also coincided with 3 days of Thunderstorms in LA, which never happens.
Rain can be really cathartic, especially when you’re not used to it, so when I was thinking about the video I wanted it to be very tied up with nature to give the audience a similar feeling.
I saw some of Alex’s artwork at a friend’s house and got in touch with him to see if we could make something like an ‘otherworldly journey’…”
She adds: “We used light orbs rolling their way through spaces and put the viewer within the camera frame. We made the environments familiar but also completely fabricated and unique, because it’s landscape that’s meant to exist in your mind.
At the end of the journey the orbs return to the same structure that was once in a barren desert, because sometimes the biggest challenges we face are what inevitably make us richer people and force us to know ourselves from the inside out. I’d love to do a real life version of this video some time.”
Whilst predominantly being sung in Sissala, regardless of whether you can understand it, the lyrical delivery through melody, rhythm and her outstanding performance on the album supports the claims that music continues on where words leave off.
The song "Peace" features driving and motivating bass and drum parts forming a western style representation of her fierce character and role in her nation.
With such a strong debut album and her fantastic activities outside of music, particularly in Ghana, she is set to blow up in the music industry.

Japanese Fighting Fish, four lads who anchor their boat in London, are bringing fun back to rock with their electrifying new album ‘Swimming with Piranhas’, plunging us knee-deep into ferocious riffs then pulling us out again with soaring vocals from frontman Karlost.
‘Swimming with Piranhas’ doesn’t sound like a great plan for the average diver but Japanese Fighting Fish jump right in and live to tell the tale. This album nibbles away at any possible preconceptions of the band until an epic creature with an unnerving undercurrent is left. The album title comes from the real life wild experiences of Karlost and drummer Sweetman in Ecuador whilst staying with a Quechan tribe when they took a dip in the Amazon River. After their excursion, the boys did a Lep Zep III move and retreated to the countryside to channel all they had learnt from the ‘tribal way of life’ into creating an exhilarating thrill-ride record that bites hard and won’t let you go.
Their latest single from it, ‘For Queen Marilyn’, was written spontaneously after arriving at the recording studio and being asked to ‘just play something’ to check sound levels. An ominous Muse-like riff was quickly followed by crashing drums before the whole thing took off into a grunge explosion. Unwittingly, the Queen was born! After several stages of development, the new track is now available on SoundCloud here -
‘Swimming with Piranhas’ is the band’s third album but the first with Matt McGuinness completing the troop. The album explores new depths with pounding bass lines, incredible drums, and Gareth Mochizuki Ellmer’s pedal board creating the ‘biggest space sounds at just the right time’, according to Karlost, whose own vocal performance is gritty and wild yet captivating throughout.
What do Royal Blood, Savages, and Cage the Elephant all have in common? They were all supported by BBC Introducing! And now Japanese Fighting Fish have joined that stairway there is no doubt they are destined for the heights. One of their next steps will be headlining the venue Milo at the Live at Leeds Festival 2016 and with their sets being renowned for explosive antics and the boys having a habit for ending up accidentally bleeding on stage, this will definitely be a spectacle not be missed.
'For Queen Marilyn' will be available on the 3rd June, followed by the album ‘Swimming with Piranhas’ due for release on the 17th June 2016.

Reaching number 1 in the UK album chart and spawning three hit singles ‘Kings of the Wild Frontier’, ‘Dog Eat Dog’ and ‘Antmusic’, the original Kings of the Wild Frontier has left its legacy on the world.
Johnny Normal’s download only rework celebrates 36 years since the original release, and sees the talented producer recording his own unique versions of all of the songs. The album features double Ivor-Novello Award-Winning Ants songwriter and guitarist Marco Pirroni.
The album project was initially the idea of Adam Ant himself, who liked the style of Johnny’s music.
As Johnny explains: ‘My version of KOTWF is not meant as a copycat album as we could never improve on such a classic, rather an Ant fan’s homage to the fabulously exciting original record by Adam, Marco and co which had such an impact on my life and the lives of millions of the MTV generation.’
The project sees Johnny teaming up with close friend and guitarist Psycho Pete and backing vocalist/bass player Izzie voodoo. Whilst on tour supporting Adam Ant, Johnny and Psycho played several of their own electronic interpretations of Ants songs, performing to crowds of up to 3000 people. The performances were well-received by audience members, cementing the idea for the duo to create their own electronic cover album.
In 2014, the project came to a frightening halt when Johnny Normal was hospitalised in three intensive-care units with a succession of life-threatening illnesses. His life support was turned off twice and he was expected not to survive. Beating the odds, he pulled through, his family requesting that the unfinished album be played whilst he was in his coma, spurring him on to fight death. ‘I have no doubt this provided me with a subconscious link to the outside world and aided my recovery,’ Johnny has stated.
Appealing to both Adam and the Ants fans and electronic music lovers, it’s a record that all kinds of music enthusiasts can get into.
There
will be an 'album listening party event' in London on Friday 17th June, tickets

Healthy Junkies’ new album ‘Box Of Chaos’ is an energetic blast of punk perfection. With this record the Londoner rock band has kicked off the year 2016 in style and full of social commentary. Shouting the lines “You’re such a hypocrite, I really hate you” in the dynamic track ‘Hypocrite’ reminds on early Nirvana takes with a rawness that is most endearing and powerfully honest. Another favourite is ‘Rebellion’, a song with Phil doing the lead vocals. Underlined by vocal harmonies and a determined melodic progression the track is a straight up cry for resistance towards oppression from government and whoever else might be in the way of our personal freedom. The feeling of oppression also comes across in a more sentimental way in the last song ‘Captive’. All in all, ‘Box Of Chaos’ is a well rounded piece of work.
The Truebelles are a refreshing new girl band who are certainly putting girl power on the map and are set to shake up the pop scene with their catchy new single ‘if your heart is there’The Truebells are a London based three-piece who all about girl power, these girls have the spirit and determination to bring femininity back , Grace Talullah and Lorena comprise remarkable vocal skills, this is a supremely up-tempo burst of pop, full of hooks that just make you want to jump out of bed in the morning and Seize the Day
The single ‘If Your Heart Is There’ is out on 12thFebruary 2016.
Legendary R&B artist Bassman is set to release ‘Don’t Judge Me’, his stellar follow up to hit ‘Jamaican Grind’. Although it carries on the dance tangent it is very much a personal ode.
Inspired by hardship and medical trauma Bassman felt the best way to convey his emotions was through the medium of music. After an allergic reaction to penicillin and the concept of death very much a reality Bassman decided it was time to write about his experiences. Music saved him and he is now intent on sharing his artistry with as many people as he can.
Inspired by the music and dancing of Michael Jackson but with a more modern urban sound, Bassman is already turning heads with major urban tastemakers such as The Source Magazine and Hip-Hop Weekly. And now, with new music garnering comparisons with Flo Rida, Pit Bull and Rick Ross, he’s set for his latest assault on the music industry.
Bassman filmed ‘Don’t Judge Me’ in Las Vegas and his ability to perfectly compliment music with visuals enables him to be a forerunner in the business. The video is a brilliant amalgamation of everything Bassman is and perfect representation of his life so far.

The great new single by Marcus Nand is ‘Time And Tide Wait For No Man’, a melodic soft pop/rock track which is set to be released on 22ndJanuary. The single is the first release from his album of the same title. Marcus is best-known for his work as a guitarist, and session musician, having played with many well-respected musicians, as well as expertly crossing-over between genres such as rock, pop, flamenco and blues.
‘Time And Tide Wait For No Man’ is structured as a typical pop song but with Marcus’ own unique spin. Straight away the song begins with a full band, with Marcus’ uplifting vocals right at the focal point. The song starts off quite mellow but soon becomes rockier during the chorus. The lyrics tell the story of sell-expression, determination and motivation to achieve what you want in life. With this powerful message and masterful, capturing guitar work, along with a strong backing band, this makes an excellent first single and we’re excited to hear the rest of the album.
Seitlos featuring Timotion have reawakened 21stcentury pop music. The performers collective Seitlos consists of a diverse and multifaceted bunch of gleeful music lovers who have made it their mission to upgrade pop and spice up the current music industry.

A welcome throwback to the golden ages of punk and rock,
Crazy Fenton is the musical brainchild of songwriter Clive Aliker - a Norfolk
based artist who is a big fan of making a good old fashioned ruckus. With
influences from 60s garage rock and 70s punk all the way through to the modern
day, Crazy Fenton is the work of a veteran musician who certainly knows how to
rattle out a top tune.
Having worked with renowned producer Dave Allen (The
Cure, Human League, Chameleons) to arrive at an energetic studio style, the new
single ‘Cool Ella’ is set for release on June 22nd. High energy and
built on a foundation of distorted guitars and pounding drums, this is one for
fans of the classics.
‘Cool Ella’ is one hell of a way to come out fighting,
and with the follow up album due a couple of weeks later on July 13th,
you will be hearing a lot more of Crazy Fenton in 2015. The album, produced by
British EDM trailblazer Alex Banks (EZ Rollers), is the kind of release which
will have the music industry on high alert with its raw song writing and
production values.
With lyrics inspired – in Clive Aliker’s own words – by ‘deaths, mental
failings, and a complete inability to understand the female species’, these
are songs that listeners can’t fail to relate to.
And in ‘Cool Ella’, Crazy
Fenton has picked out one hell of an entrance.
A truly exciting band who have been likened to some of the shining lights of UK indie, Vida are a British four piece who are going places. Drawing comparisons to a wide ranging indie catalogue, including the likes of Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Black Keys, Miles Kane and more, their growing reputation has seen them garnering recognition from some of the country’s top tastemakers.
Their new single is a double A-side release showing two of the different sides of the group. First, ‘Electric Lady’ tells the story of repeated overnight stays with the same girl after meeting on several nights out, and the awkwardness that follows the next morning. Meanwhile, ‘Fade Away’ speaks of a completely different kind of awkward – finding yourself in the same room as an ex…
Fade Away – With an array of easy on the ear sounds varying from the choir in the background of this song. The fantastic guitar or the pleasant-sounding vocals! Is a really slow paced but smooth track!
Electric Lady - Is definitely more upbeat then the previous song and the vocals are better built as well. A really energetic and heavy guitar riff is included in this track! The drums are also superb in this track, setting the pace of this track along with the drums!
Overall Vida’s double single is a really fantastic double single showing two sides of Vida! I personally prefer the second side of Vida (Electric Lady) both equally have a lot of potential to hit the charts!
In Darkness We Trust - the opening song on the album, It has sluggish tempo compared to other of the songs on The Hydra’s Tailor. But this song isn’t in shape for their genre they contain but that’s what exclusively sets up the album!
Animal - the subsequently song in the album and is masses more precise to its genre then the earlier song. It truly helps to let the chorus stand out throughout and construct up to it! With a really intense pleasant breakdown towards the end! With a pleasant-sounding chorus but jagged warped vocals.
Where It Lies - Has a really fine profound guitar riff sure to get blood circulating! Approximately ¾ the way throughout this song it turns time-consuming downwards to swiftness again with a chorus! Up in anticipation of the chorus at what time it becomes more pleasant! The vocals are sturdy in this song truly changes rhythm between the coarse screams and being easy on the ear!
Victim – Is the weighty song in the album! It drops into a breakdown towards the end to depart the track on a thunderous note. The first half is overflowing with profound guitar riffs and brawny vocals up until middle through when it becomes easy on the ear almost nerve-jangling!
Devil’s Opera – The riffs are grand in this song! All through the song the vocals are a great deal cleaner contrasted to others on the album in anticipation of about midstream where it starts to turn out to be more profound and up!
Rise Again – The drums being if truth be told on form setting tempo! incredibly burly vocals which set off with the guitar riff truly well in this track! The vocals yet again are comparatively cleaner in this track. They are as fine as devil’s opera!
Martyrs – Interlude
House of Plagues –Truly vigorous rhythm and vocals all through this track! This song also has an in fact good build up until the chorus. Immense chorus line in this song, on top the riff is beguiling!
Aeden - The guitar riff is exceptional additionally the drums being outstanding for making the pace in this track! The song with no trouble is the most intense and common with breakdowns in the album!
The Hydra’s Tailor – With truly hefty vocals and pace switches completed on form this is my most wanted track from the album! The vocals in general express meaning wonderfully! Is the key song commencing the album, the album being the song that the album is named following and you can distinguish precisely why!
Turning The Tide – It has a pleasant riff and a large number of high-quality rhythm changes being completed by the guitar and drums! Has a captivating chorus as well as a grand breakdown part the way down.
Universe - is moreover the longest track in the album essentially making it an extended departure to the listeners! Is mainly the slowest pace song in the album, being fairly pleasant-sounding!
To conclude, Deadly Circus Fire – The Hydra’s Tailor is certainly an album to look out for this June the 16th! An unbelievable album jam-packed with immense guitar riffs, outstanding pleasant-sounding clean choruses and terrific breakdowns!
Yeti Love are a folk duo made up of songwriters Peter Hamilton and Dave sears are about to release their cracking new single 'Lonely Road' on 15th June!

also influenced by his own ancestry, being half Spanish and, at a young age,
falling in love with the folk traditions of home town Galicia. Having started
out as a drummer before expanding his own musical horizons, his love of rhythm
was informed by this specific branch of celtic roots music. Married to Sears’
intricate, multi-instrumental approach, the result is a hybrid sound unlike any
other act on the circuit today.
