Intimate New EP Ibrahim From The Great Divide

New-Zealand-born, London-based film composer Gerald Clark (aka The Great Divide) teams up with an eclectic mix of artists, including the legendary Robert Wyatt, to bring this impressive and intimate new EP Ibrahim.

The EP’s three pensive and melancholic tracks each explore the feeling of being caught up between the ‘old world’ to and the new, feeling a loyalty to the traditions of the past, but unable to fully embrace the value system of the present.

The record features a guest appearance from iconic progressive rock vocalist Robert Wyatt, who sings and contributes tenor horn on the title track ‘Ibrahim’.

As Gerald explains: ‘Robert liked a jazz album I made 3 years ago. He gave it as one of his ‘albums of 2013’ in an interview. I frequently hear his voice in my head when I’m writing, so I wrote to him and asked if he’d consider it and fortunately he did.’

A future full-length album is in the works, set to include performances from other well-established names including esteemed trumpet virtuoso Byron Wallen, guitarist Neil Taylor (who has worked with the likes of Tears for Fears, Robbie Williams and Chris De Burgh), jazz composer Alex Roth (who has worked with Alice Zawadski and contributes guitar) and West End vocalist Daniel Fletcher (stars in Rock of Ages).

Ibrahim is set to be released on Gerald’s own label The Interrupting Sheep available on 16th September.

Proud Honey – Single Review

Scottish foursome strikes out with new single ‘Weekend Millionaire’ on October 17th.

Influenced by a credit card fueled stag do on which the band members went out on the town and spent ‘ridiculous amounts of money we didn’t have’, the song tells the tale of the high life which comes back to earth with a bang once reality kicks back in. Energetic and full of fun, it’s a track which deserves to launch Proud Honey to a new level in the industry.

When a band can make that kind of impact on first listen, you know you’re on to a winner. The debut single will be released by Sub Label recordings Ltd under management from their newly launched label 'Urban Pop Records'.

Looking For Liam - Take What You Need

Here is the long awaiting video from Looking for Liam on their latest track 'Take What You Need'

Brilliantly self-produced, the track above is a great example of their layered and intricate approach to songwriting, with heavier moments acting as punctuation to the more contemplative sections. It’s hugely impressive work from a band who are still only in their late teens, but show a great deal of maturity in their music.

Crazy Fenton Making Some Noise With ‘Cool Ella’ Single

A welcome throwback to the golden ages of punk and rock, Crazy Fenton is the musical brainchild of songwriter Clive Aliker - a Norfolk based artist who is a big fan of making a good old fashioned ruckus. With influences from 60s garage rock and 70s punk all the way through to the modern day, Crazy Fenton is the work of a veteran musician who certainly knows how to rattle out a top tune.

Having worked with renowned producer Dave Allen (The Cure, Human League, Chameleons) to arrive at an energetic studio style, the new single ‘Cool Ella’ is set for release on June 22nd. High energy and built on a foundation of distorted guitars and pounding drums, this is one for fans of the classics.

‘Cool Ella’ is one hell of a way to come out fighting, and with the follow up album due a couple of weeks later on July 13th, you will be hearing a lot more of Crazy Fenton in 2015. The album, produced by British EDM trailblazer Alex Banks (EZ Rollers), is the kind of release which will have the music industry on high alert with its raw song writing and production values.

With lyrics inspired – in Clive Aliker’s own words – by ‘deaths, mental failings, and a complete inability to understand the female species’, these are songs that listeners can’t fail to relate to.

And in ‘Cool Ella’, Crazy Fenton has picked out one hell of an entrance.

Growl Rock Group Kinky Dove Set To Release New EP!

Kinky Dove are a group of collective musicians and musical moniker of frontman Scott Wade.

Their particular brand of rock and roll, defined in many ways by the bluesy, post-rock growl of Wade on vocals, is currently in short supply both nationally and globally, and Kinky Dove are now looking to redress that balance.

For a taste of their punchy style, check out the video to EP track ‘Some Kind of Fool’, featuring an epic slap-happy montage of Hollywood moments.

The EP also features a remix/cover version of classic 1974 track ‘Another Girl Another Planet’ by The Only Ones – in this case titled simply ‘Another Girl’.

3 track release set to be unleashed on June 15th
