New PledgeMusic Campaign For "200 Motels" by Frank Zappa & Tony Palmer Box Set - CD & DVD with Extras & Exclusives!
London - “200 Motels” is a 1971 American-British musical surrealist film co-written and directed by Frank Zappa and Tony Palmer and starring The Mothers of Invention, Theodore Bikel and Ringo Starr.
Gonzo Mulitimedia is releasing a limited edition box set of “200 Motels” - CD & DVD with Extras & Exclusives! The film DVD is mastered from Tony Palmer's original 2-inch masters. This is for the first time these masters have ever being used. The second disc contains extra concert material specially edited by “200 Motels” original director Tony Palmer.
In “200 Motels”, the film attempts to portray the craziness of life on the road as a rock musician. While on tour, The Mothers of Invention go crazy in the small fictional town of Centerville (“a real nice place to raise your kids up”), wander around, and get beaten up in “Redneck Eats”, a cowboy bar. In a cartoon interlude passed off as a “dental hygiene movie”, bassist “Jeff”, tired of playing what he refers to as “Zappa’s comedy music”, is persuaded by his bad conscience to quit the group, as did his real-life counterpart Jeff Simmons, who was fired for insubordination before the film began shooting. Simmons was replaced by Martin Lickert (who was Ringo's chauffeur) for the film.
The Orchestra was the Royal Philharmonic, including the great classical guitarist John Williams, and was conducted by Elgar Howarth who went on to become one of Britain's most distinguished conductors. And the choreography was devised by Gillian Lynne, who went on to 'invent' the Lloyd-Webber musical “Cats”. She always said that “200 Motels” was the inspiration for much that she later incorporated into “Cats”.
It was also the first film ever to be shot on 2-inch analogue videotape and successfully transferred to celluloid. “Star Wars” was only just around the corner.

Keyboard Legend David Sancious Starts PledgeMusic Campaign For New Album "Eyes Wide Open"
Long regarded as one of the premier musicians in the world, David Sancious was an original member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, toured and recorded with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Seal, Eric Clapton, Jon Anderson and a long list of A-level musicians. He also created groundbreaking music with his band Tone.
David Sancious has begun a new PledgeMusic campaign for his forthcoming album “Eyes Wide Open”: www.pledgemusic.com/projects/davidsancious
After a long absence from recording, David has embarked on his 9th recording entitled “Eyes Wide Open,” an 8 song project featuring legendary names such as Vinnie Colaiuta (drums) and Prince alumni Michael Bland (drums) and Sonny T. (Thomson) (bass). A mix of instrumental and vocal music reminiscent of David's group Tone, “Eyes Wide Open” takes a contemporary stance by addressing today's issues head-on through David's signature sound.
All pledgers receive a digital download of the recording with their pledge (also available in high resolution 96K 24bit). The campaign will also be offering signed and unsigned audiophile 180-gram vinyl and CDs, remastered versions of landmark recordings “True Stories” and “Just as I Thought” (both remastered in 2000), rare photos and posters of David with Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel, as well as behind the scenes videos, T-shirts, interactive updates, gear used by David on tour, and much, much more, all of which will only be available through PledgeMusic!!

"The Fall Live: Set of Ten Box" Set Available For Pre-order
10 Previously Unreleased Live Performances in one Box Set
London - The Fall were an English post-punk band, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. They underwent many line up changes, with vocalist and founder Mark E. Smith as the only constant member. “The Fall Live: Set of Ten Box” featuring 10 previously unreleased live performances in one Box Set is now available for pre-order!
First associated with the late 1970's punk movement, the Fall’s music has always pushed & challenged the boundaries, with Mark E. Smith at the helm on and off stage, it has been characterised by an abrasive, repetitive guitar-driven sound, tense bass and drum rhythms, along with Smith's caustic lyrics, described by critic Simon Reynolds as “a kind of Northern English magic realism that mixed industrial grime with the unearthly and uncanny, voiced through a unique, one-note delivery somewhere between amphetamine-spiked rant and alcohol-addled yarn.”
The Fall have been called “the most prolific band of the British post-punk movement.” From 1979 to 2017, they released thirty-two studio albums. They were long associated with BBC disc jockey John Peel, who championed them from early on in their career and described them as his favourite band, famously explaining, “they are always different; they are always the same.” In 2018, Smith died at the age of 60, effectively putting an end to the group.
No other band in the world can touch The Fall's magnificence, the sheer volume that's captured in, “Set of Ten.” (Issued on Cog Sinister, The Fall's official label), is limited edition (only 500 units) of 10 discs of previously unreleased live recordings, spanning three decades. The earliest recording taken from 1980 and most recent being 2001, including the legendry London, Astoria from 1998 and the ultra rare New Orleans recording from way back in 1981.

New Pledge Campaign Started For Martin & Eliza Carthy's Live At The Pavillion CD/DVD
Also available limited T shirts, signed handwritten lyrics sheets, test pressings & more!
London - Martin & Eliza Carthy together, recorded live in February 2018 at Hailsham Pavillion, East Sussex CD/DVD is now available for pre-order along with limited T shirts, signed handwritten lyrics sheets, test pressings & more!
Martin Carthy is a ballad singer, a ground-breaking acoustic and electric-guitarist and an authoritative interpreter of newly composed material. He always prefers to follow an insatiable musical curiosity rather than cash in on his unrivalled position. Perhaps, most significant of all, are his settings of traditional songs with guitar, which have influenced a generation of artists, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, on both sides of the Atlantic.
Eliza Carthy is undoubtedly one of the most impressive and engaging performers of her generation. Twice nominated for the Mercury Prize and winner of innumerable other accolades over a 20 year career, Eliza has performed and recorded with a diverse array of artists including, Paul Weller, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Patrick Wolf and Bob Neuwirth. More than most, Eliza Carthy has revitalised folk music and captured the most hardened of dissenters with intelligent, charismatic and boundary-crossing performance.

Michael Moorcock is an English writer, primarily of science fiction, fantasy, and literary novels. He is best known for his novels about Elric, and two stints as the editor of New Worlds Magazine. As a musician, he fronts Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix, and has collaborated with Hawkwind, Blue Öyster Cult, Robert Calvert and Spirits Burning.
Don Falcone is an American producer, musician (keyboards, bass, and vocals), and captain of Spirits Burning. A live version of the band played in the UK in 2017, with Falcone on keys and vocals, and featuring Hawkwind family members Bridget Wishart, Richard Chadwick, and Steve Bemand.
Albert Bouchard is an American drummer, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He was a founding member and drummer of Blue Öyster Cult. He also plays with his brother Joe in the Bouchard Brothers, and they are both in Blue Coupe with Dennis Dunaway from Alice Cooper.

He also brought in some Blue Öyster Cult family members. The planned sessions with Mike came to fruition, and Mike ended up singing on most tracks, and playing harmonica on three.”

"The Who and I" by Tony Klinger Box Set, Book and Memorabilia Now Available For Pre-Order
Pre-order Limited Edition Box Set Signed & Numbered by Tony Klinger at https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/the-who-and-i
London - Tony Klinger, renowned producer of The Who's “The Kids Are Alright” film, has started a PledgeMusic campaign for “The Who and I” Box Set, Book and Memorabilia. The Box Set contains Tony's new book “The Who and I,” an audio book / CD, reproduced memorabilia, and a reproduction of “The Kids Are Alright” press kit and photos!
“Angry management, crazy people, women jumping naked out of giant cakes, fireworks going off in your hand, trips to the Pleasure Chest, run ins with Steve McQueen, afternoon teas with Ringo Starr, drunken sessions with Rick Danko of The Band, hotels demanding money up front before we checked in, travelling, constantly travelling, all the while trying to juggle schedules, money and egos, that's what I remember from my time with the Who when I was making a film, 'The Kids Are Alright' with, for and about them.
“The packaging of 'The Who and I' project accurately and faithfully represents the flavour of our project and the time we originally created the film, 'The Kids Are Alright,' and that forms the central themes of this project.
“I want to tell this story because there are so many of us, you and me included, who love rock music and film, who should know what really goes on, and this book tells it like it is. 'The Who' are the icons of both the sight and sound of My Generation. They sounded and looked angry and it wasn't an act. 'The Who' were among those who invented Mod England, which forced the world look up and pay attention. Their energy demanded your focus, whether it was Townshend's duck walk borrowed with love from Chuck Berry, his skinny whirling arms bashing out the chords, or Roger Daltrey swinging his microphone, more a weapon as he marched to the beat punched out by the bass played with metronomic intensity by the Ox, John Entwistle or the only drummer I ever saw who could lead a melody line, the maniacal Keith Moon.
“And then when you got past the image there was the music, that brilliant, original and fantastic music. How could such sounds spring out of such chaos? The answer is that it's the chaos that creates those sounds, that environment which enables a different view, a special sideways on look at our world that is so dynamic, true and genuine that we all have to take notice.
“'The Who,' maybe more than any other group epitomise that special rock lifestyle of danger mixed with brilliance to create a bubble of such power that we all want to see and listen and share.
“'The Who and I' was originally known as 'Twilight of the Gods.' So I am qualified by dint of knowledge about the group. More especially I know the men who make up the band and the originals who no longer get to go on stage because they're playing bass and drums with the celestial choir.
“Like most of you I am a fan, I remained a fan despite sometimes wanting to wring their collective necks! It’s well known and I documented the fact that we didn’t always agree with each other, in fact it would be more accurate to report that we hardly ever did so.” - Tony Klinger

Over the past year I have been touring “Live Portraits” to sell out audiences, so as a lasting record I have decided to film and record a very special performance of “Live Portraits” at Lincoln Cathedral on 7th March 2018.
After the success of the “The Myth & Legends of King Arthur” campaign in 2016 here on PledgeMusic I have decided to again work directly with you the fans on bringing this one off concert and recording to life.
By working this way I can offer so much more in the way of experiences, signed memorabilia and different formats, and create exactly what I would like everybody to see and hear.
The concert will be based on many of the tracks from the Piano Portraits album plus many additional pieces, all embellished as can only be achieved in a staged live setting,.
Thank you in advance for supporting the campaign and I hope you enjoy what we create together.
Rick
The Lincoln Cathedral in Lincoln, England is the seat of the Anglican bishop. Building commenced in 1088 and continued in several phases throughout the medieval period. It was the tallest building in the world for 238 years (1311–1549), and the first building to hold that title after the Great Pyramid of Giza. The cathedral is the third largest in Britain (in floor area) and is highly regarded by architectural scholars. Part of the blockbuster film “The Davinci Code” was filmed there.

10cc/Godley & Creme Legend Kevin Godley Begins PledgeMusic Campaign For New Solo Album "MUSCLE MEMORY" & Seeks Musical Collaborators
London - 10cc/Godley & Creme legend Kevin Godley is starting a PledgeMusic campaign for his highly anticipated new solo album “MUSCLE MEMORY.” What makes this album special, along with being his very first solo album, is that it will be comprised of collaborations between Kevin and, as yet, a cast of unknown musicians submitting instrumental tracks that he can turn into songs.
Kevin Godley's PledgeMusic campaign will have digital, CD and LP versions of the album available plus other merchandise and live experiences in the form of a workshop, video shoot visit and listening party/Q&A.

Write and record with me:
Recently something happened that eclipsed any songwriting techniques I'd learned in 10cc or Godley & Creme. Out of the blue, I was sent 2 recorded instrumental tracks with requests to write melodies and lyrics and turn them into songs. Both tracks came from people I'd never met and still haven’t.
We communicated by email and all I did was load their tracks into Garageband and react to them vocally. Experiencing this kind of remote collaboration and its results has been transformational for me, as I believe I've recorded 2 of my best ever songs and “MUSCLE MEMORY,” as I'm calling the album, will be about opening this collaborative door a lot wider.
It's my first time out fronting a record so it's exciting and daunting in equal measure but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time and with your help I intend to make it count. The idea is to work on 10 new tracks that inspire me and share the copyright 50/50 with each writer or co-writers. It's that simple.
Please send me your music:
That's any genre, any tempo, any mood, but please don’t send me anything too predictable! I thrive on unusual structures and sounds. Tracks must be original, instrumental recordings, ideally lasting between 3 and 5 mins and should be uploaded as stereo mixes to: musclememorysubmissions@gmail.com
Just to be really clear…submissions are open to anyone. That's new and emerging acts through to established musicians. I've already had interest from a few significant artists but my selection process will be totally democratic so I won't be revealing any names until I've listened to everyone and everything and begun to select my 10 collaborators.
The timeline of the release will depend on the submissions, but I plan to have the album released in the first half of 2018 and will be posting regular updates along the way to keep you informed of its progress.
Around the album's release I'll be opening the door for both creatives and fans to be a part of the album recording process, with live events taking place which you can Pledge to be a part of.
Thanks for reading!
Kevin Godley

New PledgeMusic Campaign For Roger Glover's "Butterfly Ball" 2017 Directors Cut Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set!
Feat. David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord, Ian Gillan, John Lawton, Eddie Jobson, Vincent Price and others!
London – A new PledgeMusic campaign has been started for Deep Purple legend Roger Glover's “Butterfly Ball” 2017 Directors Cut Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set to be released on Gonzo Multimedia!
“The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast” is a concept album and subsequent live rock opera appearing in 1974 and 1975 respectively, based on the children's poem of a similar title. The work was originally conceived as a solo vehicle for Jon Lord to be produced by Roger Glover who had recently left Deep Purple. However, Lord proved too busy with Deep Purple and Glover took up the reins on his own. Using his connections, Glover recruited a large cast of noted rock musicians to perform on it, with a different vocalist for each character, including David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.
On 16 October 1975, a one-off performance at the Royal Albert Hall took place. Again it had a star-studded cast of rock musicians, most notably Ian Gillan who was drafted in at the last minute and received a standing ovation on his entrance. He replaced an unavailable Ronnie James Dio who had commitments with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (although Dio did eventually get to perform the song at the Royal Albert Hall in 1999 as the guest of Deep Purple). Gillan had not performed since leaving Deep Purple in 1973. Also notable was the appearance of Twiggy as singer and actress and Vincent Price as narrator. Apart from most of the musicians involved in the studio recording, the concert also featured Jon Lord. The live concert was filmed and released in 1976 produced and directed by Tony Klinger.
Tony Klinger is thrilled with the quality of the creation of this Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set which includes Double DVD (original film + 2017, re-edit, remaster), a Double CD (never released before), Reproduction Press Pack, 5 × 10″x 8" glossy promotional photos, A3 reproduction Film Poster. Each box will contain a number certificate signed by Tony Klinger.

Rick Wakeman Launches Pre-Sale Campaign on PledgeMusic For "Crimes of Passion" Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set
London - Keyboard legend Rick Wakeman has launched a pre-sale campaign on PledgeMusic for a very special limited edition Deluxe Box Set of his soundtrack “Crime of Passion”.
Originally released in 1984 “Crimes of Passion” was directed by Ken Russell and starred Kathleen Turner, Anthony Perkins, John Laughlin and Annie Potts. The film explores themes of human relationships and mental illness. A mix of sex and suspense.
“Working with Ken Russell was not only a highlight in my musical life but also a great learning time for me as well….Ken truly understood film and film music like no other. He knew what he wanted, but after telling you then expected you to take his ideas to another level.
“He was always involved and came to stay with me during my writing period. He would listen and make suggestions. He would always be complimentary if you did something he really liked and if he felt something wasn’t working musically he would discuss it with you and explain what he needed for the film.
“I learned so much from Ken and to this day I feel it is a tragedy that in his later years film companies didn’t give him more opportunities to show off his talents.
“ 'Crimes of Passion' is a much deeper film than it has ever been given credit for. It took many years before 'Lisztomania' became cult and recognised for the clever film it was and I class 'Crimes of Passion' in a similar way…
“With every film Ken ever made the viewer and listener has to immerse themselves into every crevice of the work and may take multiple viewings before his genius is truly absorbed.” - Rick Wakeman, New York April 2017
There will only be 250 of this deluxe edition manufactured and each will contain a signed and numbered certificate. There will also be additional signed items and exclusive experiences as part of this pre-order campaign.
