Rick Derringer Produced Colour Radio Guitarist Jim Eannelli To Release New Solo Album “Just Deserts”

Album due out in both digital and physical formats September 27, 2024

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Jim Eannelli has been in every sort of band from hard rock to synth pop; he worked with Rick Derringer on the Colour Radio record, played guitar, performed and recorded with both former BoDean Sam Llanas and the Shivvers, the ‘80s power-pop band that finally gained international recognition in recent years. He is a legendary supporting player in his hometown, Milwaukee, and he steps onto center stage for his first album, “Just Deserts.”

Dipping into a trove of original songs written over the years, Eannelli’s “Just Deserts” encapsulates his experiences in life as well as music. The songs are deeply rooted in his years as a member of diverse bands. Just Deserts opens with a ferocious depiction of war’s casualties, “29 Women,” delivered by a rockabilly rhythm with punk attitude and a knife-slashing guitar solo. Eannelli segues easily into “Where I’ve Been,” a ballad of heartbreak and loss. His musical sources are wide, from the sullen blues of “Train from Chicago” to the Beatlesque pop of “Waitin’” and the soaring Americana rock of “Christine.” As a producer, Eannelli reaches for the soul of each song, catching the bright spark of their creation. And as a lyricist, he records the tragedy, confusion and despair of rootless lives, as well as moments of epiphany and spiritual yearning.

“Just Deserts” will be released on Happy Growl Records September 27 via web streaming and download services. CD’s will be for sale at local record shops and through Ebay.com

Rockabilly Queen LINDA GAIL LEWIS Shares Her Most Personal Reflections On Her Brother JERRY LEE LEWIS’s Passing In A New Single, Announces New Studio Album!

Los Angeles, CA - Linda Gail Lewis, a veteran of the music scene and genuine rock royalty, is proud to announce her newest full-length studio album, Rockabilly Queen, set for release on July 26. Produced by rockabilly guitar icon Danny B. Harvey, the album contains a mix of original material written by Lewis as well as several hand-picked classics that Lewis and Harvey, along with Stray Cats drummer Slim Jim Phantom, deftly transform into fresh and exciting tracks.

One of the most poignant and powerful songs on the album, however, is Lewis’s heartfelt, emotional remembrance of her brother, rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis, who passed away in 2022. The song is called “I Knew That You Were Leaving,” and Linda’s story of how it came to be is deeply moving.

I woke up one morning, and while still half asleep, a terrible feeling came over me because I remembered that my big brother, Jerry Lee Lewis, was no longer with me. It had been about a year since he’d passed away and as I was thinking about how I wished I could just go see him one more time and this song came to me from out of nowhere. I immediately went to my piano to document it but every time I tried to sing it aloud I would start sobbing. It took many attempts to get the demo recorded. Even months later when I recorded this final version in the studio I’d have to stop singing at times because I’d start crying uncontrollably when thinking of all the good times we had together over the years.

There are many people who miss my brother Jerry Lee, and also many folks that miss their own departed family members as much as I miss my brother. I hope they all find comfort from my new single and video, “I Knew That You Were Leaving,” and realize we’re not alone.

This song accurately expresses how I feel about losing my brother and also how I felt when I first realized he was leaving us. This is my heartfelt personal tribute and my eternal memorial to the greatest big brother a girl could have, and one of the greatest talents to have ever lived.

Jerry Lee Lewis, I miss you dearly and constantly wish you were still here with me.  I’ll love you always, your sister, Linda Gail Lewis.

Rockabilly Legend ROBERT GORDON Lives On Through New Release Of Vintage Studio Recordings With CHRIS SPEDDING!

Los Angeles, CA – When news came that legendary rockabilly crooner Robert Gordon had passed away, tributes came pouring in from all around the globe. Stories appeared in every outlet from Billboard to Variety to Deadline to NME. Former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock called Gordon “a fabulous singer [who] will be sorely missed” while Gordon’s close friend, Blue Öyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard, says “He was a soulful man with an unnaturally powerful voice. He had perfect pitch up until the day he died. He was still doing his vocal warm ups in the hospital when almost every other thing in his body was failing. I will never forget him.” Many others weighed in with their own stories, both personal and professional, of Gordon’s vivacious personality and incredible talent.

And though he will truly be missed, we can still celebrate Gordon’s spirit through his music. The final album that Gordon worked on was a collection of recordings from 1998, an album crafted in collaboration with Gordon’s longtime partner, British guitar heavyweight Chris Spedding, Entitled Hellafied, this 14 track collection of both original songs and cover versions was nearly lost forever until Gordon rescued it from the vault. He worked tirelessly in his last days to finalize the project and get it ready for release. Now, the entire project is set to be shared with the world on all formats on November 25 but today you can stream the lead off track, a song Gordon wrote himself, about living life to its fullest every day because “there’s only one day left until forever.” It’s exactly how Gordon lived his life, and the most fitting way to remember him.

Female Rockabilly Pioneer LINDA GAIL LEWIS, Sister Of Rock Legend JERRY LEE LEWIS, Shares New Collection Of Early Recordings From The ‘60s & ‘70s!

Los Angeles, CA – At a time when most female artists were content with crooning sappy love songs for mainstream audiences, vocalist and pianist Linda Gail Lewis was following her own muse, singing rowdy and rousing versions of early rock classics like “C.C. Rider,” “Jim Dandy” and “Baby (You’ve Got What It Takes).” The latter track might hint at what drove Lewis to blaze her own musical path as it is a duet with Lewis’s brother, well-known raconteur and rabble rouser Jerry Lee Lewis. Lewis would go on to record several times with her brother but also branched out to record several solo albums throughout the years as well as a 2000 album with Van Morrison and, more recently, has appeared on albums by Robert Gordon and Ann-Margret!

But it’s Gail’s early tracks that truly showcase her historic importance as a pioneer of rockabilly music, and these tracks have now been collected on a brand-new compilation, entitled Early Sides 1963-1973, giving fans of vintage rock and rockabilly a chance to discover her unique talents. The audio has been completely remastered by guitar icon Danny B. Harvey who had this to say about the collection “It’s a well-known fact that from 1961 until the late ‘70s, Linda Gail Lewis sang and stood beside her big brother Jerry Lee Lewis, both onstage and in the studio. Not as well-known is during that time she also managed to record her own amazing solo singles in Memphis, Nashville and LA with legendary musicians & producers like Scotty Moore, Jerry Reed, Harold Bradley, Reggie Young & of course her brother backing her.”

Check out the collection’s lead-off track, a fantastic version of “C.C. Rider!”

Former HAWKWIND Bassist & LEMMY Protégé ALAN DAVEY Joins Newest Incarnation Of DANNY B. HARVEY’S Rockabilly Project, HEADCAT 13!

Los Angeles, CA - Proving the old adage about cats having nine lives, rockabilly guitarist and icon Danny B. Harvey has returned with a new descendent of the rockabilly project he started back with Lemmy of Motörhead and Slim Jim Phantom of The Stray Cats. The Head Cat, as they dubbed themselves, released a studio album Fool’s Paradise in 2006 as well as a live album, Rock N’ Roll Riot On The Sunset Strip. Years later, after the passing of Lemmy (who lived more lives than all these other cats combined) Harvey recruited 69 Eyes crooner Jyrki 69 for (what else) The 69 Cats. And now, the man who filled Lemmy’s motorcycle boots in the legendary space rock band Hawkwind, Alan Davey, has teamed up with Harvey along with Frantic Flattops drummer Paul Vezelis for the newest litter, Headcat 13!

Following in the paw prints of the previous groups, this outing offers some more fantastic covers of early rock classics such as “Route 66,” “Susie Q,” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On,” which features a special guest performance by Annie Marie Lewis, niece of The Killer himself Jerry Lee Lewis. But the real cream in this batch comes from the original songs penned separately by Harvey and Davey including the standout lead-off track “Let’s Go Crazy!”

Harvey, who also produced the album, shares this about the single “I’m so happy that Cleopatra is releasing ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ as the first single off my new Headcat 13 album. Last year, when Alan ‘Boomer’ Davey joined Headcat 13 onstage as my bassist for the North American  Space Ritual 2019 in Austin TX, I knew it would be a travesty if Alan and I didn’t get into the studio and record an album of songs together right away. A few months after the festival, Alan loaded up his car with his infamous Ric bass and his favorite amp and drove all the way from Death Valley to Austin in 100+ degrees heat. We spent five intense but fun days in studio, composing, learning, arranging and recording the songs. This album is a throwback to the way albums were recorded in the golden age of rock’n’roll, go in with nothing and 5 days later come out with a finished masterpiece. When people ask me what this album sounds like, I quote Lemmy and say, ‘It’s fucking rock’n’roll, what do you think it sounds like?!’”

Headcat 13 will be available on digital as well as CD in a special digipak and on a very limited edition vinyl!

New Track By Rockabilly Legend ROBERT GORDON Features Revered Country Guitarist STEVE WARINER

Los Angeles, CA - Grammy and Country Music Association award winning songwriter/guitarist/artist Steve Wariner has teamed up with a true living musical legend, rockabilly crooner Robert Gordon, for a unique collaboration that will have music fans up on their feet! The track, a cover of the rollicking 1956 single penned and performed by icon Jerry Reed, “I’ve Had Enough,” finds Wariner ripping it up on guitar as Gordon belts out the lyrics with a fiery passion and precision that can only come after decades of experience as a musical performer. Gordon is no stranger to heavy hitting guitar sidekicks with years of fruitful collaborations with six-string slingers Link Wray, Chris Spedding and Danny Gatton. “I’ve Had Enough” was produced by fellow rockabilly icon, and a celebrated guitarist in his own right, Danny B. Harvey, as part of a full-length Robert Gordon album, Rockabilly For Life, featuring a host of friends such as Spedding, The Stooges’ James Williamson, David Letterman’s Paul Shaffer, Blondie’s Clem Burke and a whole lot more!

Harvey shares this about Wariner’s contribution, “When suggesting guests to appear on the new Robert Gordon album I was producing, I suggested Steve Wariner knowing it was more a wishful long shot than an actual possibility. But then his management got back to us right away that Steve was very interested and I couldn’t contain my excitement! Steve Wariner is to ‘80s/’90s country guitar picking what Jeff Beck was to ‘60s rock and Eddie Van Halen is to ‘70s rock. Plus, he had 10 #1 country singles as a solo artist! Damn, I’m a lucky man and so is anyone who hears this track - Steve’s the best!

Andy Meadows New Single ‘Never Be The Same’

Never Be The Same’ is the latest fun upbeat swing single from rising Texas artist Andy Meadows set to appear on his upcoming album Modern Day Crooner.

Accompanied by a vibrant 9 piece band, Andy delivers a swanky crooning voice powerful enough to compete with the likes of Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra. Steel guitar and fiddles meanwhile add a country vibe that harks back to Andy’s roots.

Lyrically, the song centres around being love-struck.

Andy explains the inspiration behind it: ‘I fell in love with the new girl at work and it had been years since I’d felt that way and I’d forgotten how wonderful and terrible falling in love can be, the sleepless nights the anticipation of a phone call or text, then analyzing what each text really means and how quickly or slowly you should respond, wondering if you should kiss her or shouldn’t kiss her, trying to play it cool when you see her even though it’s probably obvious that you’re madly in love with her. You know, the usual stuff.

Growing up in a country radio station owned by his father, the singer developed his interest in music at an early age. He started writing songs at the age of 16 and originally had plans to pursue a career as an opera singer winning his way into Texas Tech University as a vocal performance major. However, knowing opera wasn’t his real passion, he later transferred to South Plains College to study commercial music.

Andy is 6ft5in tall and was recently invited to the Dallas Tall People’s Club. ‘I never went but I find it really odd that there’s a club made up of people and the only thing they have in common is that they’re all tall. I guess they just sit around and talk about where they buy their pants.

Rockabilly Guitarist Danny B. Harvey Releases A New Album With Former Devil’s Daughter Mysti Moon!

Los Angeles, CA - Get ready to stomp along with a brand new set of recordings from veteran rockabilly guitar slinger of The Head Cat (with Lemmy & Slim Jim Phantom), 69 Cats, and The Rockats, Danny B. Harvey! The album is called Hell Cat Stomp and is an inspired collaboration between Harvey & sultry vocalist Mysti Moon, formerly of The Devil’s Daughters, to be released on Cleopatra Records October 14!

Harvey explains the origin of the project, “The songs were inspired by old timey singers from the Blues, Jazz and Country music fields. We wanted simple arrangements with great vocal and guitar performances. The original plan was that the album would be all cover versions, making sure we stayed true to the era we were honoring, but after a few songs I got inspired and had to write some original compositions.”

He goes on to share about the making of the album, “Working with Mysti has always been an amazing experience, since first meeting her when I produced the Devil’s Daughters. I’ve been floored with the depth of her vocals talents. She is one of the best artists I’ve ever worked with and being as young as she is, she has a long career in front of her.”

In sum, “This is the album I’ve always wanted to do, paying homage to my heroes from the early days of Jazz, Blues and Country music. The very beginning of modern music, long before Rock’n’Roll existed! Mysti is the perfect collaborator for me to use on this project as her voice and enthusiasm inspires me to make a great record. We sweated, sang and played our hearts out and made an album we’re both very proud of!
