JYRKI 69 Lends His Voice To A Psychedelic Melding Of Minds Between STEVE STEVENS, BOOTSY COLLINS, GEOFF DOWNES, and CARMINE APPICE On A Brand New Version Of PINK FLOYD’S “ONE OF THESE DAYS”

Los Angeles, CA - Pink Floyd’s sixth studio album, Meddle, marked the dawn of a new era for the British quartet. Still reeling from the departure of former front man, Syd Barrett, and struggling to find their feet, Meddle pushed the remaining members to new heights of collaboration and novel experimentation, as heard most forcefully on the album’s opening track, “One Of These Days.” Today, a brand-new version of the song carries forth this collaborative spirit as an eclectic group of stellar musicians and boldly creative artists offer their take on this psychedelic masterpiece.

This star-studded single features a pulsating bassline from rhinestone rockstar and Parliament-Funkadelic icon, Bootsy Collins, the wailing guitar licks and shredding reverberations of Grammy Award winning guitarist, Steve Stevens, accompanied by the aggressive, hard-hitting cymbal crashes and snare hits of legendary percussionist, Carmine Appice, and all sewn together by the scintillating treble musings from keyboard commander and prog rock superstar, Geoff Downes. Providing the song’s only vocal moment, the surreal spoken word bit, is none other than the voice of Finland’s finest goth metal band, The 69 Eyes, baritone vocal god, Jyrki 69.

Metal Heroes CHRIS POLAND & DAVE LOMBARDO Team Up With Vocal God GRAHAM BONNET & Prog Giants RICK WAKEMAN & JOE BOUCHARD On A New Recording Of PINK FLOYD’s “SAN TROPEZ!”

Los Angeles, CA - You’d be hard pressed to find a group that can unite musicians from across the whole range of genres and generations better than Pink Floyd. From metal heads to stoners to jazz fans and music nerds, all around the globe fans have found in Pink Floyd’s catalog a rich and abounding treasure trove that continually unearths new pleasures.

Recently, rumors have been circulating about a new gathering of diversely talented artists who participated in an as yet unannounced project to revamp and reimagine Pink Floyd’s hugely experimental sixth studio album, Meddle. Much like last year’s enormously impressive Animals Reimagined and 2021’s Still Wish You Were Here, Meddle Reimagined will bring together masterful musicians, prodigious vocalist and visionary artists to recreate every note from the original 1971 masterpiece.

As a preview of what’s in store, a single of Meddle‘s folksy, breezy ode to a beach resort town in southern France, the great “San Tropez,” is hitting digital stores today. The track builds from a dream team of Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and Blue Öyster Cult’s Joe Bouchard on bass. Rainbow vocalist Graham Bonnet adds a notably darker edge to Roger Waters’ wistful lyrics, with superb piano work from keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman and, of course, gorgeous slide guitar from Megadeth’s Chris Poland.

Bonnet declares, “When first invited to participate on Pink Floyd’s ‘San Tropez,’ I was flattered, yet a little nervous. I had sung on ‘Dogs’ [from Animals Reimagined] a year earlier and was initially concerned whether I could do justice to such an iconic song and thankfully, it turned out better than expected. ‘San Tropez’ would prove to be trickier for me but ultimately I was happy that I was able to honor yet another gem from the cherished and enigmatic Pink Floyd.”

Poland adds,“To me the English are not afraid to wear their heart on their sleeve. Especially Pink Floyd. Even though this song seems upbeat there is an underlying sadness. A longing if you will. Their use of major to minor chords during my solo spot really points to this. I love this band. I have always thought of Pink Floyd as the thinking man's Beatles.”

Check it out at the link below and keep an ear out for more heavy Meddle coming soon!

Pink Floyd “The Dark Side Of The Moon – A Visual History By Glenn Povey” Super Deluxe Edition Box Set Now Available For Pre-order

Released Jun 16, 2023

“The Dark Side Of The Moon” will always remain Pink Floyd’s greatest achievement. A landmark album in every respect and housed in one of the most iconic album sleeves of all time.

Statistics for its sales – 50 million worldwide and counting – and chart history – 15 consecutive years on the Billboard 200 - are mind-boggling. As the album enjoys its 50th anniversary year it still shows little sign of waning in its popularity as new generations of music lovers discover its wonders.

Its release in March 1973 saw the album go straight to No.1 in the US and No.2 in the UK. Previous albums had been a hit and miss affair, a series of tracks both with lyrics as well as instrumental, but “The Dark Side Of The Moon” presented a more literal concept, a continuous piece woven with tracks dealing with the pressures of life, birth, death, war, mental illness and inequality to name a few. This clearly struck a chord.

Similarly, their live shows had built a steady cult following too, which had seen their new album previewed live as a work in progress since January 1972. However, it was with the release of the single “Money” to FM radio in North America that it suddenly propelled the band into the sphere of stadium touring.

Consequently, their live shows began to take on another dimension, becoming a multi-media extravaganza with inflatable props, pyrotechnics on a massive scale and a giant circular projection screen featuring specially made live action and animation films.

Pink Floyd had finally arrived in grand style and with it followed a slew of highly regarded conceptual albums and live shows that are remembered as nothing short of spectacular.

As author Glenn Povey explains, “Pink Floyd were a unique phenomenon. They broke the mould both in terms of recording technique but also stage presentation and created a mystique that set them apart. My ongoing research into their history has spawned many books but here I have collated all of their performance and recording history surrounding this remarkable album.”

Inside this box of delights you will find the complete recording history of the “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, documentation of all the live performances of the album by the band, previously unpublished photos and illustrations as well as facsimile memorabilia including photos, programs, handbills and passes.

This super deluxe box contains:

• Signed and Numbered certificate by the one of the world leading Floyd authorities and author Glenn Povey

• Reproduction of very rare and interesting; memorabilia, photos, posters from the era

• A CD of interviews with the band recorded in the day.

The first one is from 1972, where the band discusses being on the road, the “Live at Pompeii” film, the band are very relaxed and laughing. Richard Wright says at one point, “We understand each other very well. We are very tolerant of each other”. Nick Mason says, “We are all from the British aristocracy with the exception of David Gilmour….”

This band interview is a rare gem, from a band which seldom gave interviews. It’s sure to raise an eyebrow or two looking back from 2023.

The longer interview is over 30 mins long with Richard Wright, where he discusses touring and looking back at “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, the band’s inner workings on how they write and play together, solo albums, along with living in the English countryside.

This CD of interviews, along with all the memorabilia and legendary Floyd historian Glenn Povey’s commentary makes this limited-edition super deluxe box set, the perfect companion to the official “The Dark Side of the Moon” set.

A must for all serious collectors of Pink Floyd.

New Book “Pink Floyd – The Animals Tour – A Visual History” By Glenn Povey Now Available For Pre-order!

Pink Floyd’s 10th studio album “Animals” was released almost 10 years on from their psychedelic debut that launched the band on to the world stage. But this release couldn’t be farther from “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” if you tried: It was a hard-hitting politically charged heavy rock album. Its three central pieces, “Pigs (Three Different Ones)”, “Dogs” and “Sheep” each extending to over 10 minutes each drew parallels with George Orwell’s dystopian nightmare “Animal Farm”. Its lyrics continued to project Roger Waters’ eternal themes of life’s struggles where the subservient masses are sheep controlled by tyrannical pigs and authoritarian dogs.

Recorded over the summer of 1976, in the space of time it took punk to both explode and promptly fizzle out, at their own Britannia Row studios in north London, it also marked a shift from their traditional base of EMI at Abbey Road. Arguably one of Pink Floyd’s least well recorded works it does however hold a fond place in many fans hearts and Animals has enjoyed a legacy – Roger Waters in particular reviving those tracks to shoehorn into his own politically charged live solo shows in recent years.

The corresponding tour through the first half of 1977 was also not without compromise and built on the stadium spectacular that had been successfully developed over the previous two years of touring. Creatively, there was no limit to their ambition as large-scale inflatable structures, screen films, special effects and state of the art sound reinforcement were utilized that enveloped the audience in an ever-increasing immersive experience. But, despite all this, as their fan base increased exponentially so too did the rowdy nature of the stadium environment which, coupled with band members personal issues, ultimately led to inter-band rifts and Roger Waters’ increasing intolerance of and disdain towards the adulation of the fans.

This all finally came to a spectacular head during their final show of the “Animals” tour in Montreal in July and the events that unfolded became the lynchpin of Waters’ vision of isolation and madness that eventually led to the creation of “The Wall” two years later.

“Pink Floyd – The Animals Tour – A Visual History” By Glenn Povey documents both the history of the recording of the album and the supporting tours which remains one of the most fascinating periods in Pink Floyd’s history.

An All-Star Gathering Of Rock Legends Including GRAHAM BONNET, ARTHUR BROWN, VINNIE MOORE, DAVID J, JAMES LABRIE, and others Perform PINK FLOYD’s 1977 Epic ANIMALS In Its Entirety!

Album features performances by Al Di Meola, Albert Lee, Rick Wakeman, Martin Barre, Carmine Appice, Jordan Rudess, Billy Cobham, Jan Akkerman, and more!

Los Angeles, CA - Following the wildly successful Still Wish You Were Here project released earlier this year, another gathering of classic, prog and art rock superstars have come together to recreate and reimagine Pink Floyd's ambitious 1977 concept album, Animals! Fusing the white-hot guitar work of Floyd guitarist David Gilmour with the stone-cold cynicism of Roger Water’s lyrics, Animals is widely hailed by die-hard Floyd fans as one of the group’s most highly conceptual and uncompromising albums of their career, and certainly set the template for the commercial breakthrough that would come two years later with 1979’s The Wall.

Now, some of the most veteran players and singers on the planet including jazz-rock guitar legend Al Di Meola, psych-rock godfather Arthur Brown, drum master Billy Cobham, UFO's Vinnie Moore, Bauhaus's David J, Dream Theater's James LaBrie, and so many more come to give their unique spins to this magnum opus. Each track of this groundbreaking work has been completely reimagined with modern production flourishes and tasteful musical additions while staying true to the original album's heady and subtly complex compositions. Just listen to the new version of “Dogs,” a superb 17-minute suite sung by Rainbow's Graham Bonnet with Vinnie Moore on guitar, Utopia's Kasim Sulton on bass, Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess on keyboards, and King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto.

DREAM THEATER’S JAMES LABRIE Voices The Role Of Evil Record Executive On New Version Of PINK FLOYD’s “HAVE A CIGAR” From The New STILL WISH YOU WERE HERE - A TRIBUTE TO PINK FLOYD Album!

Album features performances by Rick Wakeman, Ian Paice, Todd Rundgren, Geoff Tate, Joe Satriani, Rod Argent, Steve Stevens, Bootsy Collins, Geoff Downes, Rat Scabies, Jah Wobble and more!

Los Angeles, CA - One of the most iconic characters ever created in song - the smarmy, nefarious record executive dreamt up by Roger Waters for Pink Floyd’s 1975 single “Have A Cigar,” who infamously asked “Which one’s Pink?” - is being brought to life in a whole new way, courtesy of the legendary voice of prog metal superstars Dream Theater, James LaBrie, and a spectacular new concept video from award-winning director Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films. LaBrie’s superb rendition of the song, taken from the just released album Still Wish You Were Here - A Tribute To Pink Floyd, gives the lyrics a far more sinister edge than the original recording, as does the razor-sharp guitar work from Steve Stevens, which contrasts nicely with the laid-back rhythm section composed of The Damned’s Rat Scabies and Public Image Ltd.’s Jah Wobble and some supremely tasteful keyboard work from The Moody Blues’ Patrick Moraz. This fantastic new version of the song inspired the first-ever dramatic portrayal of this character, performed by seasoned character actor Noel Jason Scott for Cordero’s video, as a stylish Mephistopheles who casually tempts a young, naive musician into a malevolent Faustian bargain that grants him all the riches and rewards of rock superstardom before exacting a treacherous toll.

Watch the video:

LaBrie’s performance is a major highlight of Still Wish You Were Here but there is plenty more where that came from. The album also features awe-inspiring performances from a whole host of rock, metal & pop music legends such as keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman, Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice, recent Rock Hall of Fame inductee Todd Rundgren, ex-Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate, guitar god Joe Satriani, Zombies/Argent vocalist Rod Argent, spacebass super genius Bootsy Collins, and lots more! Still Wish You Were Here is available on both CD in a beautiful 6-panel deluxe digipak and a stunningly gorgeous gatefold vinyl in a variety of colors!

New Book "Reinventing Pink Floyd: From Syd Barrett to the Dark Side of the Moon" By Bill Kopp To Be Released February 15, 2018!

Asheville, NC - Available February 15, 2017 from Rowman & Littlefield Publishing: Bill Kopp's new book “Reinventing Pink Floyd: From Syd Barrett to the Dark Side of the Moon.” In celebration of the 45th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon, Bill Kopp explores ingenuity with which Pink Floyd rebranded themselves following the 1968 departure of Syd Barrett. Not only did the band survive Barrett's departure, but it went on to release landmark albums that continue to influence generations of musicians and fans.

“Reinventing Pink Floyd” follows the path taken by the remaining band members to establish a musical identity, develop a songwriting style, and create a new template for the manner in which albums are made and even enjoyed by listeners. As veteran music journalist Bill Kopp illustrates, that path was filled with failed experiments, creative blind alleys, one-off musical excursions, abortive collaborations, a general restlessness and—most importantly—a dedicated search for a distinctive musical personality.

“Knowledgeable, well-informed, conscientious, and sensitive. Bill has written about what really matters. Bill's book is a great read, and well worth the price of admission.”— Jerry Shirley, drummer for Humble Pie

This exciting volume guides readers through the works of 1968 through 1973, highlighting key innovations and musical breakthroughs of lasting influence. Kopp places Pink Floyd into their historical, cultural, and musical contexts while celebrating the test of fire that took the band from the brink of demise to enduring superstardom.

“Bill Kopp's excellent analysis of Pink Floyd's post-Syd, pre-arenas era performs a valuable service to the Floyd canon.”— Joel McIver, bestselling rock author

The book draws on archival interviews and reviews as well as many new and exclusive interviews with Peter Jenner, Ron Geesin, Steve Howe, Jerry Shirley, Davy O'List, Willie Wilson, Robyn Hitchcock and many others.

“Combining research into their classic albums and a wealth of little-known and unofficial recordings with astute and entertaining analysis, Kopp generates fresh insight into Pink Floyd's formative years. Even longtime fans of the band will be surprised and enlightened.”— Richie Unterberger, author of “Unknown Legends of Rock 'n' Roll”

Bill Kopp is a lifelong music enthusiast, musician, collector, and music journalist. His writing has been featured in music magazines including Bass Guitar, Record Collector, Prog and Shindig!

Newly remastered from the original master tape!

London - The British film director and pop promo auteur Peter Whitehead's kaleidoscopic 1967 documentary is a vivid and controversial snapshot of the height of London's “Swinging” era.

Featuring interviews with a diverse selection of iconic figures in British and international pop culture – from artists such as David Hockney and Alan Aldridge, through to actors such as Michael Caine and Julie Christie, the author Edna O’Brien, Beat Poet and writer Allen Ginsberg, and Rolling Stones manager and founder of Immediate Records, Andrew Loog Oldham, the movie is rightly regarded as both a celebration and critique of the London “Summer of Love”.

Grammy Nominated Pink Floyd Engineer Andy Jackson Releases New Modern Progressive Rock Album 'Signal To Noise'

London, UK - Esoteric Antenna is pleased to announce the release of “SIGNAL TO NOISE”, the new studio album by twice Grammy nominated PINK FLOYD engineer ANDY JACKSON. “Signal to Noise” is a fine, modern, progressive work, which draws on Andy Jackson’s exemplary work as an engineer and producer. Besides being an allusion to Andy’s sound engineering background, the title refers to many of the lyrical themes of the album. Andy explains; “The album reflects on the sorting of what is important in life from the humdrum of everyday existence, and is in itself an analogy for the process of the creation of the album”.

Andy Jackson began his career at Utopia Studios in London, training under James Guthrie, a relationship that continues to this day with the duo being co-pilots of Pink Floyd’s sound. Andy had success as a recording engineer at Utopia, including hits with Boomtown Rats “I Don’t Like Mondays”, before the call came from James Guthrie to follow him into the world of Pink Floyd, to work on the film of “The Wall”, an offer he couldn’t resist, having been a Floyd fan for many years. So started a relationship that continues to this day, (on albums such as “The Final Cut”, “A Momentary Lapse of Reason”, “The Division Bell”, “Pulse”, Roger Waters’ “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”, David Gilmour’s “About Face”, “On An Island”, “Live in Gdansk”), resulting in two Grammy nominations for his work and Mix magazine’s award for best live sound engineer for “Pulse” tour. He is also engineer and a co-producer of the soon-to-be-released Pink Floyd album, “The Endless River”.

Along side his work with Pink Floyd and wider work as an engineer, he has recorded three albums, recorded with friends, as a musician in his own right: “On the Surface”, “Obvious” and “Mythical Burrowing Animals”. All three works were ideas ahead of their time it would seem. He did find time along the way to produce work for other artists, including the seminal British Goth band Fields Of The Nephilim. This again was the genesis of a relationship that would lead to the present day, after ex Nephilim Tony Pettitt asked Andy to join his new band The Eden House as guitarist. After three years with Eden House, Andy felt it was time to move on & embark on a new challenge of a completely solo album project. This has lead to the creation of the “Signal to Noise” album, a wonderful sonic experience that is sure to Andy Jackson heralded as a significant creative force in modern Progressive music.

Track Listing

1. The Boy in the Forest
2. One More Push
3. Invisible Colours
4. Spray Paint
5. Herman at the Fountain

New Tribute To Pink Floyd Founder Syd Barrett By Garden Music Project To Be Released July 7, 2014

'Inspired By Syd Barrett's Artwork' – The New Debut Album By Garden Music Project

London, UK - Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd fans rejoice! On July 7, 2014 AR Garden Records, via Cherry Red will release the debut album by the Garden Music Project, which features music inspired by the paintings by PINK FLOYD founder SYD BARRETT. 'Inspired By Syd Barrett's Artwork' is a unique masterpiece of 12 tracks that truly reflect the early artistic concept of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett and his music legacy in modern times. The release will coincide with the eighth anniversary of Syd Barrett’s passing in 2006.

The music on this release can be best described as an epic interpretation of Syd Barrett’s paintings using Synesthesia perceptions. This music venture was created by Adriana Rubio. All the music was written by Adriana Rubio and Alexander Ditzend. The band features Alexander Ditzend (guitars & lead singing), Stefan Ditzend (bass guitar & saxophone), Nicolás Saganías (drums & percussion), and Fabrizio Gamba (keyboards & synthesizers).

Says Adriana, “I was born a Synesthete and for a long time I liked the idea of making a CD album using Synesthesia perceptions as a new way to compose music. Syd Barrett's paintings are the key to this as he's been the inspirational muse to make it happen.

“Syd was very sensitive of Synesthesia color-sound shifts onstage and in studio sessions, and it is mainly linked to his passion for painting. For the most part he was a visual artist, and I dare to say that even though he was retired from the music scene, he continued making music through painting as he had the ability to 'hear colors' and 'see music notes' through painting.

“As the project creator myself, I started digging into Syd's colored paintings and even into black and white drawings to visualize the music notes and hear them through the intensity of their colors. To start with, I wrote the basic music lines of three songs which were discussed with the band members Alexander Ditzend (guitars & lead singing), Stefan Ditzend (bass & saxophone), Nicolás Saganías (drums & percussion) and Fabrizio Gamba (keyboards & synthesizers) to taste the waters. It worked out great!”

The full length album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Casa Frida Studios in March 2014 - a Tribute to Syd Barrett's paintings and music legacy!

Track Listing:

1. GARDEN
2. SQUARES, LINES & POLYGONS
3. ISOLATION
4. TRANSFORMATION
