Dark Ethereal Rock Masters JAY ASTON’S GENE LOVES JEZEBEL Complete Their Comeback With New Lyric Video From Their Recently Released Album, Announce Massive US Tour With THE ALARM & BELOUIS SOME !

Los Angeles, CA – Jay Aston, the driving force behind the indomitable, critically acclaimed rock outfit Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, has once again summoned the essence of the group’s iconic sound with their latest studio album, X - Love Death Sorrow. Released across all formats on December 1, the album represents a culmination of the band's collective artistry. With the steadfast collaboration of esteemed guitarist James Stevenson (renowned for his work with The Alarm, Gen X, The Cult) and seasoned bassist Peter Rizzo, along with the return of acclaimed producer Peter Walsh, known for his instrumental role in crafting the band's classic '80s albums, X - Love Death Sorrow delivers a compelling blend of original compositions and captivating cover songs. This latest offering stands as a testament to the band's enduring legacy and serves as one of the most formidable additions to their extensive discography.

One of the most popular tracks on X, “Serpent Queen,” is also one of the album’s darkest and most haunting. An original written by Aston and Rizzo, “Serpent Queen” draws inspiration from ancient depictions of dangerously enchanting females with such beguiling beauty that it threatens the very life of the unfortunate beholder. Appropriately, the band is releasing a lyric video for the track today, the day after Valentine’s Day, offering a bit of a contrast to the rosy depiction of love celebrated on that day.

But that's not all! Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel is thrilled to reveal a major announcement: they will be embarking on a cross-country US tour alongside The Alarm and Belouis Some, set to kick off in May. This highly anticipated tour promises to be a must-see event for fans of both bands, offering a unique opportunity to experience their electrifying live performances in venues across the nation. The Livesays, Featuring Clarence Clemons’ Guitarist/Vocalist Billy Livesay, To Release New Album “Not What I Bargained For”

Billy Livesay, best known for his work with E Street Band legend Clarence Clemons as his guitarist & vocalist, is releasing a new album with his group The Livesays. “Not What I Bargained For”, a memorable hybrid of melody, rhythm and message, is the band’s fifth album and is slated for release on September 1st, 2021.

In 2018, due to the sudden death of their drummer and beloved bandmate Eddie Zyne (formerly with Hall and Oates), The Livesays were forced to take a break from finishing their fourth CD. The search for a new drummer began in 2019 and ended with the addition of Howard Goldberg, and reconnecting with piano man, Timothy Murphy, who had taken a hiatus back in 2014. With a solid lineup in place, another unexpected turn of events occurred at the onset of 2020 … the Covid-19 pandemic, putting The Livesays and the masses out of work. Sequestered at his Ft. Lauderdale-area home, acclaimed singer-songwriter Billy Livesay, like most songwriters in the past year and 1/2, decided to write. And write. And write. Music became a lifeline. A whole new set of songs were created comprising two entirely new albums - 2020’s “The Rhythm Of Love and Dysfunction” (which they dedicated to Eddie), and now 2021’s very aptly titled “Not What I Bargained For.”

The subject matter of the new songs reflect the struggles and conquests of everyday life. The topics range from alcoholism, infidelity, overcoming poverty and bullying, to chasing dreams, growing older and dealing with the loss of a loved one. A few of the songs were inspired by political circumstance, conspiracy theorists, and how social media has been set afire with false information. And as the chaos of the last year begins to diminish, hope is on the horizon; there’s a new found optimism among the better angels of our nature. As with all of The Livesays’ previous albums, there’s always a song or two with which listeners feel a personal connection.

The Livesays have been dubbed “Heartland-Rock revivalists” offering up a blend of Americana and roots rock infused with pop, blues, funk and soul. They are long respected members of the South Florida music community, well known for their dynamic live performances. They have opened for dozens of international artists and have been featured at countless rock, blues and indie festivals. All five band members are excited to be back on stage performing live concerts again after a grueling 15 month hiatus due to Covid restrictions.

Billy Livesay has forged an impressive national publishing and licensing career. Over thirty of Billy’s original songs have been featured in network and cable television shows, made for TV movies, as well as in major motion pictures. Billy is an award winning songwriter and has been highly acclaimed for decades for his gift for melody and incredible knack for lyrical storytelling, often likened to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. This latest batch of songs may be his best work yet.

The Takeaway:
Billy Livesay explains: “After Eddie’s death in 2018, the Covid-19 global pandemic reaffirmed that life can change in unpredicted ways in an instant. In March of 2020, we found ourselves unemployed, in exile and in turmoil... definitely ‘not what we bargained for’! It became abundantly clear that time is short and too valuable to waste. Amidst the chaos, despair, and in collective solitude, we turned to what we know best - music ... to heal our souls, conquer our fears, resurrect our dreams, and create something meaningful. I believe what we have produced is our most succinct and cohesive album to date. I hope our music brings joy to all who listen.”

There are 12 tracks on the new album - ten new original songs and two surprise classic covers. Everything was recorded in Billy Livesay’s home studio, produced by Billy, mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Steve Gordon, and mastered by Grammy winning engineer Mike Fuller at Fullersound in Ft Lauderdale.

Prog Ensemble Shumaun To Release Anticipated Second Album "One Day Closer to Yesterday" - February 22, 2019

If you like Rush–Porcupine Tree-Dream Theater, Shumaun is a must for you!

Prog ensemble Shumaun will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore album “One Day Closer to Yesterday” on February 22, 2019. The new release has an underlying concept of love gone wrong. The album begins with two souls in a state of preexistence bonded by love, and continues after they are both assigned bodies on Earth. All attempts at a blissful reunion are complicated, as only one of them can recall their state together prior to birth… and yet their connection is undeniable. “One Day Closer to Yesterday” touches on the many real struggles, conflicts, and experiences that romantic relationships might go through... the good, bad, spiritual, and terrestrial.

The Shumaun sound is shaped by the soaring vocals and lead guitar work of Farhad Hossain, the pounding melodic bass lines of Jose Mora, the subtle guitar nuances of Tyler Kim, and the technical and groove-oriented drumming of Tanvir Tomal.

Says vocalist/guitarist Farhad Hossain, “Stylistically, this album is a bit more raw and heavier than our last one. Guitar wise, there are surprisingly a lot of riffs throughout the album. I use the term 'surprisingly' because I never really considered myself to be a riff writer, but somehow that's the natural direction that this album took a turn to. Much of the lyrics were comprised from improved vocal sessions that were further refined in order to capture something real and unfiltered. Many of the vocal melodies were spontaneous. I incorporated more vocal harmonies and vocal textures this time around as well. Tanvir Tomal is playing his heart out on this one. Some of the drum rhythms are simplistic in approach and yet somehow technical in nature. As always, Jose Mora's bass playing is tasteful, melodic, and technical all at once, And of course, you can hear Tyler Kim's guitar textures throughout the album.”

Watch the Lyric video for first single off new album called “Go”:

Shumaun initially started as a solo project by Farhad Hossain. After recording a few demos, he decided to recruit a few friends to help build the project into a full-fledged collaborative band. The band released their self-titled debut album on Nov 13, 2015 to rave reviews, and supported it with several shows. Both Mark Zonder (Fates Warning) and Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour) played drums on the first record. Shumaun made it on many lists for best records of 2015 such as Decibel Geek, ProgMetal Zone, Metal Asylum, Rockway.Gr, Progressive Music Planet and The Deli DC Magazine.

Here's what the press has said about Shumaun:

PROGRESSIVE MUSIC PLANET REVIEW
“Great vocals, well-written songs, and solid musicianship are the hallmarks for the debut self-titled release by Shumaun. It's a very enjoyable album for anyone who likes to sing along with their music. With Shumaun, the songs come first. And that makes for a very enjoyable experience.”

BACKGROUND MAGAZINE REVIEW
“Shumaun have recorded a perfect debut album that might appeal to a large audience. The music is impressive and pretty close to brilliant.”

METAL ASYLUM REVIEW
“Every part of the journey brings unexpected twists and fresh rewards, blending multi-cultural rhythms and sounds for one of the best rock/metal/prog songs of 2015.”

THE GRIM TOWER REVIEW
“It's rock music with a lot of replay value, and some strong messages at heart. Shumaun is REAL music with REAL effort and REAL values put behind it. There's a definite positivity here, and it comes off as a rather heartfelt and passionate moment that I'm thankful to have been able to recommend your way.”

DECIBEL GEEK REVIEW
“AWESOME! OK, this band is AWESOME and have produced probably my favourite album of the year. A new band in age, this is a set of serious musos, with chops that your local butcher would envy. If you like the axis of Rush–Genesis-King Crimson, Shumaun is a must for you.”

METAL AT THE GATES REVIEW
Bringing something fresh and invigorating to the world with their debut self-titled album, Shumaun paints a beautiful soundscape with progressive, rock, pop and touches of delectable South Asian flair. The writing ranges from outright gorgeous with ear-catching progressive rock grooves to straight forward pop-influenced rock.”

In closing Farhad has this to impart, “The message we want to convey through our music is that no matter how different we might view one another; our similarities far exceed those differences. We have the potential of exuding a profound love for one another, as we are all united in more ways than we might think.”

Shumaun is currently playing gigs in the Washington DC area to promote the new record and will start planning an east coast tour of the US in the late Spring of 2019.

Light Freedom Revival Releases Second Album 'Truthonomy' Feat. Jamie Glaser, Billy Sherwood and Oliver Wakeman

VANCOUVER BC - John Vehadija has reunited with his cast of high class musicians for ‘Truthonomy’, the new album by Light Freedom Revival, which is released on July 3rd, 2018.

Along the bright sounds of Jamie Glaser’s acoustic guitar, and Vehadija’s ethereal vocals, Billy Sherwood returns for the rhythm section (Drums and Bass), as well as Oliver Wakeman (piano and keyboards) and Marisa Frantz (Harmony Vocals). Eric Gillette also joins in the project by providing additional electric guitar as well as mixing and mastering.

This talented team was called up by Vehadija once again to help him express his ideas in the form of a new concept album that offers new insights in his own spiritual journey and the science of Truthonomy.

John Vehadija believes in the existence of an absolute truth and he relied on his spiritual knowledge to create a story of soul awakening, for the seeker to rediscover Creation as a living being self aware of itself. Truthonomy is defined to represent a light truth economy in an open universe system which develops society with divine tunnel visions of how to consciously manifest one’s destiny.

“It’s hard to explain how this album came to be because it was totally unplanned, but it’s partially based on my travels to major capitals on different continents, and so I tried to create a unified world perception beyond the countries we live in to reach a standard of a new kind of planetary civilization. As I was writing the songs,” said Vehadija, “I realized it is a concept album of someone moving through many parallel negative timelines, constantly searching for the truth, trying to find the original one that had once been his real home, a place from where it’s safe to project into the future and reality will not anti respond to soul impulse calculations. I’m proud of the way it came out, it represents almost a new style of music, you can love it or hate it, but you cannot dismiss it. I felt it was my soul mission to express this for humanity. I didn’t want to create dogma, I wanted to create freedom and awareness. I wanted it to be like a self reflective mirror for the soul. In my opinion we should all deal with the truth as we understand it, and not just put it aside it and ignore it forever.”

Jamie Glaser had this to say about the record: “‘Truthonomy’ is one of the most interesting projects I have gotten a chance to work on in recent memory. John is great to make music with; he’s a super talented man and I appreciated his positivity; he always makes sure to write stories in both words and music that keep the listener spiritually uplifted and sonically on an adventure. He gave me a lot of freedom to create my parts and it was always a great and fun challenge.”

“As I finished all bases and drums I realized it all sounded very cool!” said Billy Sherwood “I like the general feel for all the music, it’s a bit more simplified and earthy than the last CD! It was a fun record to make and I’m happy with the way it came out.”

Oliver Wakeman tells us: “I’m glad John was happy with the keyboard performances I recorded for his new album... there were a couple of tracks, like ‘Emma’ and ‘Lies No More’, which in particular I really enjoyed playing on. Working on John’s album also gave me the opportunity to use some new keyboard sounds courtesy of IK Multimedia as well as recording using my Dexibell piano. It’s always fun to play on a project with talented musicians and John has gathered a bunch of great artists to bring his vision to life. I’m pleased he asked me to be a part of it.”

Marisa Frantz who did the harmonies for the whole album, shares her thoughts about the song “Truthonomy” which clocks at just over sixteen minutes: “It’s a truly epic song, captivating from beginning to end! It has so many beautiful melodies which were fun to put together. I had to do a variety of backgrounds including lyrical harmonies as well as other vocal textures and dynamics. I also wanted to give it space to breathe in spots. It was a pleasure working on this project for John.”

“I have never seen a more beautiful thought provoking cover” Vehadija tells us about the CD artwork provided again by the international visual artist Ed Unitsky. “I’m very happy about this new album and that John contacted me again to create the cover!” said Unitsky.

Intended to be a true work of art, something that both prog audiences and music lovers in general will be very satisfied with, ‘Truthonomy’ is available in CD Digipack and MP3 Format starting July 3rd on lightfreedomrevival.com as well as Amazon, iTunes, Spotify and other major distributors.

Progressive Rock Ensemble Light Freedom Revival Releases Debut Album ‘Eterniverse Déjà Vu’ Feat. Billy Sherwood & Oliver Wakeman

Looking towards a bright future for us all!

VANCOUVER BC: Canadian singer-songwriter John Vehadija has assembled a stellar cast for the project Light Freedom Revival, and their new album ‘Eterniverse Déjà Vu’ is released on March 7th, 2017.

Accompanying him are Billy Sherwood (Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards), Oliver Wakeman (Lead Keyboards), Eric Gillette (Lead Guitar) and Marisa Frantz (Harmony Vocals) as a like minded group of spiritual individuals who have joined together on this 13 track LP to lend their own skilled touches to help create a bigger sound in order to explore the concept of how consciousness and positive energy shape all our future destinies.

John Vehadija has taken his artistic and imaginative background from a poet early on and used it as fuel to pursue his true calling as a professional musician, extending to the universe his gift of unique songwriting for all to enjoy.

“I’m happy and relieved to report that the Dreamship Light Freedom Revival has arrived with it’s first CD offering!” said the Vancouver based musician. “I believe the force which guided me to record this album and present it to you came from a very clean and honest place of positive light imagination, so I hope that this feeling is translated to the listener!”

Talking of the thinking behind the record he said: “From the perception of the Light Omniverse, right now each of us are consciously or unconsciously, passing through quantum stargates by simply making decisions about where our lives are going, and our minds are slowly learning to use a sort of a holographic customized reality operating system, leading us into the kind of future we would like to experience. I know I’m headed towards this exit timeline, where Earth evolves to become the centre of a gigantic crystal space city of light called the Avatar that represents the point of focus for the entire Light Creation with a sealed cornucopian light society template. That is for me the true Ascension into the Eterniverse and I wanted the songs to reflect that!”

Billy Sherwood who produced the record along with Vehadija said this about the album from a more grounded perspective “I think it turned out great and I like the addition of Marisa's voice next to John’s. I think it creates a very cool unique sound to the record! I'm always happy to help new projects! This was fun to do, it's got a lot of depth and vibe, melodies, harmonies... I dig it! I would do it again!”

Oliver Wakeman added in “I was contacted to perform on one track, but before I knew it I was already playing on about 13 of the tracks on the record and I was given quite a bit of freedom to play with my Moog! I'm glad John was happy with all the keyboard parts, it’s been great fun!”

The CD Artwork depicting Vehadija’s vision was created by the international visual artist Ed Unitsky known for his complex and captivating surrealistic landscapes “I am very happy to participate in this wonderful project, together with such mega-talented musicians! It was truly an honour and a pleasure to work with John for his great music!” said Unitsky.
