Track Feature: The Song Gardeners-Reveal

I have been listening to the Song Gardeners music from track to track since last year. Every time I hear a song from these wonderful artists it just melts the day away. All I hear is great music and the most pleasing and soothing voices you can imagine.

"Reveal" is their latest offering. So far this is my favorite. Everything about it just soothed my soul. These two ladies have it together. What was once a trio is now a duo. It looks like they have carried on without missing a step with their presentation and sound.

I also appreciate the gorgeous cover art. The message I get from that colorful cover is that nature and humans are interlocked, we are one. And that my music loving friends is a fact, and the reason we need to take better care of Mother Earth.

One listen to this track will have you hooked because it is a true to life "Reveal" of music and lyrics with tremendous power and meaning. If you are looking for one thing today to make you smile and give you a universal feeling of hope, then listen now!

Track Feature: The Song Gardeners - Warrior Light

The Song Gardeners have once again graced our presence with another single release titled "Warrior of Light."

Once again featured on the track singer/songwriter Corrie Dunn (vocals, piano, guitar), singer/songwriter Mary Gospe (vocals, guitar, percussion), and Chris Day (bass).

Mary sings "Activate the love inside, be a warrior, a warrior of light." This is very spiritual and positive for us all to take to heart. It goes along with the saying "Kill them with kindness." That kind of approach helps people drop their guard and open up to another viewpoint.

This is not a protest song by any means however it does point to the media and the lies both sides have been telling us all along to support their agendas. That is one simple fact that most people do realize. So the message is to be true to yourself and picking a side is not part of the equation. Travel your purposeful path and you will reach the desired destination. The truth shall be revealed if you listen to your inner voice which is a "go with your gut" attitude that cannot miss.

I for one loved the song, lyrics, and the premise of why it was recorded.

My music is my story, it is my diary, my journal, my biography… a glimpse into my soul.

I started playing piano when I was very young. My earliest memories are around the age of 5, playing piano for show-n-tell in kindergarten. I’ve always had a musical ear, and could figure out any melody I heard. I’ve also always been drawn to pianos… if there was a piano or keyboard in the room, I gravitated toward it, longing to touch and play it. There has always just been a connection between the piano and I...READ MORE...

Ashley J is back with another single titled"Unbreakable."

This young lady has charisma, good looks and a terrific voice. In other words, she has got it all going on.

Michele McLaughlin has a new album out titled Life. It is a collection of piano based solo works.

Track Feature: Peter Sterling-Eclipse

Peter Sterling's new release Sacred Visions is filled with instrumental music featuring his harp and many other sounds.

"Eclipse" is one of the album highlights. It is a beautiful track accompanied by male and female vocalizations. There is also some saxophone intermingled in the mix towards the end of the track.

The colorful cover is a hint at what the intent is. It is about relaxation, centering and meditation. What is pleasant to the ears can be healing for the body.

Have listen the stream now and let it carry you away....

Musical artists come to their recording careers in lots of ways, many of them rather typical, e.g. listening to music as a teen, joining or forming bands, hearing a particularly influential album, and then setting off to find fame and fortune. Peter Sterling's journey to where he is now, as one of New Age music's premier harp players, was less conventional. Propelled by equal parts happenstance, serendipity, and spiritual epiphany, the tale of how he arrived at his current place in life would make quite a movie, although some would no doubt state "Now THAT would never happen in real life!" However, they would be wrong...READ MORE

Track Feature: Rachael Sage -Try, Try, Try

Rachel Sage's most recent release Choreographic was released at the end of April this year. Among some of the more catchy and attractive cuts was "Try, Try, Try."

I am familiar with her work and have enjoyed it in the past and this one track is so energetic and unforgettable that you will want to hear a lot more than just one time.

There are snappy hook fills from the six string and a violin to give it an Americana edge. When all is said and done it turns out to be a marvelous combination of pop and rock.

Give it a listen and leave your thoughts!

More About Rachel Sage:

Rachael Sage is an American singer-songwriter and producer, visual artist, and founded her own record label at the dawn of her musical career. As a youth, Sage dabbled in a variety of the arts, from dance to poetry, but it is as a musician that she is best known. Sage has shared stages with A Great Big World, Semi Precious Weapons, Sarah McLachlan, Judy Collins, Marc Cohn, The Animals, Jamie Cullum, and Ani DiFranco, and was named one of the Top 100 Independent Artists of the Past 15 Years by Performing Songwriter magazine. Her performances combine music with musicianship with between-song banter, which The New York Times dubbed Sage's "inner Fanny Brice", and "Jewish Norah Jones"—even going so far as to call her a comedian.

Track Feature: Rodney Wilson-Healing In His Wings

Every song we hear, the notes that are played, the words that are either spoken or sung, or just the music itself, it all can tell a story to our hearts.

Rodney Wilson has a new album titled For His Good Pleasure. From what I gathered listening to the album the reference to "him" seems to be God, a Higher Power or what ever you choose it to be, your higher self if that works. All of that is interchangeable from my own perspective.

"Healing In His Wings" is the very special track that is the feature here. It brings a lot of those thoughts and feelings into focus. This is my own interpretation and as always I leave it to each individual listener's own meaning. This is an invitation to open the door to the healing powers of faith, what we all have inside.

The piano based track is a lot of things that merge into one...peacefulness, beauty, elegance, spirituality and hope are all woven into this tapestry of sound. It is instrumental bliss, a term which I have used often enough and it is most appropriate for this track.

Give it a good listen and find your own cloud in heaven through the music now.

Some moments in our lives can cause us to reflect and realign our priorities. Such a moment touched me in August of 2014. While flying back and forth from Atlanta to New York City every other week for work, I occasionally felt a burning tingling sensation in my arms. I had ignored it thinking I had a pinched nerve from the heavy back pack I was using. As the sensations became more frequent, I finally decided to make an appointment with my doctor while I was home.

The following Monday, my doctor agreed it was possible that a pinched nerve could cause these sensations in my arms. But to be safe I would take a stress test that same week. I was scheduled to be back in NYC the following week and then on to Hawaii for a long overdue vacation. On that Thursday, much to my surprise, the stress test put me into a whirl wind chain of events that quickly culminated into a 5 way heart bypass surgery.

While I was shocked, I was assured that all would go well because I was strong, not over weight, ate well, exercised, did not smoke and had not suffered damage to my heart from a heart attack so I was a perfect open heart candidate. Fortunately, all went well with the surgery and my recovery process.

As I became far more informed about my true condition in the weeks ahead, I discovered I had been a ticking time bomb. I had to accept that I had heart disease. Had I known all I know now, I would have been far more fearful going into the surgery. I began to reflect on how naïve I had been. Slowly I began to take in the miracle God had given me. Except for His mercy to circumvent an imminent heart attack I should not be alive today. He also surrounded me with exceptional doctors and a wonderful medical staff. One of the fruits of my reflection was the birth of this album “For His Good Pleasure”.

After my recovery, I decided that I needed to record some music as a legacy for my family and for my grandchildren. The music is about the messages I wanted to share with them. As the recording project progressed, I felt deep stirrings of inspiration flowing into new melodies, fostering a deep awareness of God’s favor and His pleasure with the music. I felt the same emotion as was scripted by Colin Welland in “Chariots of Fire” attributed to the great Olympian runner, Eric Liddell, “God made me fast. And when I run I feel His Pleasure.” At one point in the project, I suddenly understood that the compositions were far more significant than I had originally conceived. I knew why I must continue. Within the level of giftedness I was given, for as long as He blesses me with melody, I will continue to create music, “For His Good Pleasure.”

Track Feature: Angelo Râpan-Remember

Angelo Râpan has released his album Songs of Leaving and with that successfully weaved a tapestry of instrumental tales of the heart.

"Remember" is the focus track and my initial thoughts are similar to what Will Ackerman said about the artist. He transfers his mind, body and soul through his fingers to make beautiful and moving music.

Like a clear running stream of cool water ready for consumption he lets his fingers do all the talking. His message to us is to "Remember" who you are, where you have been and where you are going. Listen and you will be able to relate easily!

More About Angelo Rapan:

http://angelorapan.com/

Angelo Râpan inhabits the smallest ecosystem known to musicians: The place where heart and mind are perfectly in balance.   Angelo comes to us from years of training and discipline to a place where his skills are immediately and dramatically apparent.  What makes him stand apart, however, is the passion of his composition and performance which force us to encounter him on an emotional level far beyond what mere skill can provide.  Those skills are certainly breathtaking, and his composition unique, but ultimately it is what he has to tell us of a life deeply and richly lived that matters.

Track Feature: Peter Calandra-First Light

Peter Calandra's new release First Light (release date 9/21/15) features more intriguing instrumentals from the long time composer and musician.

The title track is in focus on this feature. The song is very descriptive and suits the title perfectly. Gentle piano invites you in at the gates of dawn and then as the sun rises over the mountain one by one different instruments are introduced and bring the song together and wake you with splendor.

I have no other way of explaining how this music sounds or feels, it certainly did make me realize I had the promise of a new day ahead. This is a pure and natural progression in music that immediately translated to feelings.

Listen and see what it does for you.

Video/Track Feature: Celestial Temple-Rasamayi and Paradiso

"Celestial Temple" is the focus track of the latest installment from Rasamayi and Paradiso. It is exactly what it claims to be. The title is very descriptive and when you hear the music or view the video the effect and purpose is transcendental.

The end result is achieved through the sounds and music that this duo create. Using unconventional instruments such as the Didgeridoo certainly presents a challenge, however they make it sound so natural and flowing with their presentation.

I highly recommend listening and viewing the video to get the full meaning and effect of this music. Welcome to the temple of the soul through Celestial Resonance.

Michael Stribling's new album A Better Place was released this month and the title track says it all. If you are looking for a better place and space than what you are in presently, this music will take you there.

The inviting sounds are a great way to start your day as I just found out. The textures and colors brought forth are mesmerizing and pleasant as any new age music I have heard and I look forward to enjoying the entire album.

 More About Michael:
 http://www.leela-music.com

I started piano lessons at age 7, and I also studied violin, clarinet, and guitar for a time. But when the Beatles arrived in America in 1964, I switched to drums and never looked back. I earned a Bachelors in Music (emphasis in percussion performance) in 1974, and then promptly went on the road and played drums for a fella named Johnny Mathis. Before that, though, I was a radio announcer in the early '70s for what would now be referred to as a Classic Rock station (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc.). Along the way, I did lots of studio work as a performer, composer/arranger, producer, engineer, etc., and I also played lots of musical theater productions.

In 1981, I changed careers and went off to graduate school, leaving music behind, and eventually becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist in 1992. I worked in the mental health field for many years. One of the most memorable experiences of that part of the journey was studying transpersonal psychology with Stan Grof. I returned to my first love (music) in 2005 after—what else?—life transitions. After all those years and projects, working for others, I finally decided it was time to produce an album "all by myself".

Some of my musical influences (among many, many others) include The Beatles, Jan Hammer, Vangelis, Paul Winter et al., Pat Metheny, Patrick O'Hearn, Steve Roach, J. S. Bach, Igor Stravinsky, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Chick Corea, Peter Gabriel, Frank Zappa (heck, this could get ridiculously long). While there have been many life/spiritual influences, here are the most significant ones over the past couple of years: David R Hawkins, John Diamond, Eckhart Tolle, Lester Levenson, Wayne Dyer, Jack Canfield, Lao-tzu (again, among many others).

That brings me up to now. I formed Leela Music (leela means "divine play") to undertake a very simple mission: to help others in their journey toward wholeness through the gift of music, by creating works that inspire and uplift the human spirit.

Track Feature: Eric Tingstad-Swamped

Eric Tingstad's "Swamped" is but one example of his excellence at connecting to the roots and blues music that literally influences all music to this day. His guitar playing and production is superb! I instantly felt a connection to his music as soon as it started playing. Words are not necessary because this music will speak to you! Make sure you check out more of Tingstad's music on his new release Mississippi and read the review

More About Eric:

Eric Tingstad’s solo recording career began in 1982 with the release of On The Links. Capitalizing on his gift for composition, On the Links compiled eleven original songs best described as part of the burgeoning New Age genre. The album appeared on his private label, Cheshire Records, under which he continues to release albums of his own music and others.

Tingstad won a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 2003 as artist, engineer, and producer of Tingstad and Rumbel’s, Acoustic Garden. He continues to tour as part of Tingstad and Rumbel, an acoustic duo that remains a standard among listeners of the instrumental/New Age genres.
