JOEY MOLLAND OF BADFINGER IN THE STUDIO RECORDING A BRAND NEW ALBUM

Teams With Grammy-Winning Producer and Grammy-Winning Engineer

NEW YORK, NY – JOEY MOLLAND of the band BADFINGER is currently in the studio working on a brand new release. He’s enlisted Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Mark Hudson and Grammy-winning engineer Mario J. McNulty to work on the album with him and is excited to share this latest project with his fans.

“I’ve wanted to make this album for several years now. The songs are solid and quite catchy – many harken back to that power pop/rock sound I began my career with.” – Joey Molland

Fans can find many ways to be a part of this special project through Joey's Kickstarter campaign which launched today.

Joey was a member of Badfinger’s classic line-up and the band was one of the original signings to the Beatles’ Apple Records label. They had their first hit single with a Paul McCartney penned song, "Come and Get It."  Badfinger followed this with their own hit compositions "No Matter What", "Day After Day" (produced by George Harrison), and "Baby Blue." During this time American singer Harry Nilsson placed Badfinger's song "Without You" on top of the charts, and Mariah Carey did the same in 1994. Badfinger's own version of "Without You" was featured in Season 2 of the hit television show This Is Us, which helped introduce the band's music to brand new younger fans.

The timeless quality of Badfinger songs is evident, as the songs continue to be used in many other contemporary TV and film soundtracks. The song "No Matter What" was featured in the hit film Horrible Bosses 2,  "Baby Blue" was featured in the Breaking Bad TV show finale, and "Day After Day" is currently featured in the movie Annabelle Comes Home.

Joey Molland played on John Lennon's Imagine album, on George Harrison’s Grammy-winning album All Things Must Pass, and joined George Harrison for the Concert For Bangladesh.

Producer Mark Hudson has worked extensively with artists such as Ringo Starr, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Harry Nilsson, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Celine Dion and more.

Engineer Mario J. McNulty has worked with many well-known artists, including David Bowie, Prince and Julian Lennon.

New Kickstarter Campaign started offering rare Nektar memorabilia!

Nektar: The Legendary Rock Band are recording a new album! This is the first new studio album made in the United States since 1977!!

We put the old band back together to CELEBRATE the 50th ANNIVERSARY of NEKTAR!

The original members of Nektar; Derek “Mo” Moore, Ron Howden, and Mick Brockett are back. We've added Ryche Chlanda from Fireballet and the 78' band, Randy Dembo from the 2005 band, and newcomer and world-class keyboard player, Kendall Scott.

The music for our new album “The Other Side” comes from the 1978 era when we were writing in Mo's basement in Chatham, New Jersey. This music was put on pause for the last 40 YEARS and it's now time to release it with new input and fresh ideas. The music is growing exponentially as we continue rehearsing and writing and letting it take us to new heights.

The reason we are here on Kickstarter is to generate the necessary funds and freedom to do this album in a suitable manner without a record company. We would like to release a CD, a DVD on the “Making of the New Album,” and writing and tweaking of the music. A double-vinyl album, all with excellent artwork by our friend and collaborator, Helmut Wenske, the original artist in the tradition of classic Nektar. After the album is released, in 2020, we will make a Blu-Ray DVD with the light show so you, our fans, can have music and visuals that you can take home with you.

We also need to set up touring to bring the music and the visual light show to you throughout 2020. In order to give you, our fans, our unique experience, we need your help now!

Virgil Guitars Makes Unprecedented Leap On Kickstarter

Tampa, FL - An artist and guitarist since the 1970's, Virgil Mandanici set out to make guitars that would be exceptional in tone and playability first and foremost. After 35 years of playing guitar, he decided it was time to craft guitars that would feel, play and look better than anything anyone has ever played before – thus Virgil Guitars was born! As a master craftsman, Virgil has drawn his building career from several luthiers over the past several years to make these incredible guitars. The inlay and appointments on his guitars are simply a testament to his attention to detail.

Says Virgil, “After playing guitar for over 35 years, I knew what I was looking for in tone and how a neck should feel and had been willing to go to any length to achieve the 'perfect' guitar fit for myself, and ironically, other players. On certain models, they come with a DVD that shows the birth of my guitars starting out with a chunk of wood all the way to a music video – I do every step of this process by myself, in-house. Since they are "One-offs",  there will NEVER be two guitars alike, so all owners of a Virgil Guitar will have their own unique tone and feel. I also make different guitars to fit different budgets, since most players to not want too much ornamental appointments on their guitars”.

Virgil's 1st guitar, the "Dueling Dragons" was featured in the September 2013 issue of Guitar World (http://www.guitarworld.com/it-might-get-weird-mandanici-s-best-friend-virgil-dueling-dragons-guitar ) and he did quite well selling the guitar to a collector in 2012 for $17,000.00 USD. Virgil has made 17 guitars to-date, making each one totally unique of the others.

Virgil had experienced a slowdown in sales over the past year as so many other builders have in the custom guitar building industry and decided to take a different approach. "I had spent my first few years as a builder developing my skills and spending most of my profits on state-of-the-art equipment, processes and supplies to build up an inventory but this year, things have slowed down so much, I wasn't able to allocate any monies towards advertising." says Virgil. In comes "Kickstarter". Virgil saw an opportunity to get his name out there and get busy making at least something via a Kickstarter campaign.

Kickstarter is one of several "public funding" websites that is an all-or-nothing system to raise moneys to achieve a specific monetary goal and usually has people offering items for visitors to make "pledges". Virgil launched his campaign on August 7th, 2014 and within the first 48 hours of the campaign he not only reached his goal, but jumped up to a whopping 210% of his goal of $5000. This was due to an anonymous person pledging to a $10,000.00 guitar that includes 12 frets of inlay and a round trip plane ticket to pick up the guitar next year. Says Virgil "We were ecstatic! I about fell over seeing things excel so early on in the campaign and we have had an overwhelming response to all of the things I am making for people with pledges starting at only $1 to help me reach my dreams and get these guitars known by the world. I am making wood guitar picks, fretboard key chains and my original 'Fretboxes', offering guitars that start at $2600 - oh, and 2- $10,000 guitar builds!"

Virgil's Kickstarter campaign ends on September 6th, 2014 and he has been getting people to commit to his project because they believe in what he's doing and agree that the guitars he builds really need to be seen by the world. As of the writing of this article, Virgil's campaign was at 260% of goal and he's still pushing for the stars.

Music Legends Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty Announce Formation of New Music Ensemble - The Anderson Ponty Band!

Los Angeles, CA - Music legends Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty announce the formation of a new ensemble - The Anderson Ponty Band! YES's original singer/songwriter for 35 years, Jon Anderson has had a successful solo career, which includes working with such notable music artists as Vangelis, Kitaro, and Milton Nascimento. International jazz superstar Jean-Luc Ponty is a pioneer and undisputed master of violin in the arena of jazz and rock. He is widely regarded as an innovator who has applied his unique visionary spin that has expanded the vocabulary of modern music. Together these two music icons form a musical synergy that is unparalleled!

The Anderson Ponty Band also includes Jamie Dunlap on guitars - well known as a film and television composer, most notably 'South Park'; Wally Minko on keyboards - virtuoso player and composer who has performed and recorded with many worldwide stars including Pink, Toni Braxton, Jean-Luc Ponty, Tom Jones and Barry Manilow; Baron Browne on bass who has played with Steve Smith, Billy Cobham and Jean-Luc Ponty; and Rayford Griffin on drums and percussion, who has played with Stanley Clarke Band, George Duke, Jean-Luc Ponty and Michael Jackson. The band will visit the music created by Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty over the years with new arrangements, virtuosic performances and new energy, while creating new compositions as well.

The Anderson Ponty Band have been writing and arranging old favorites during the past three months. They will be in residence for three weeks in September at Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado rehearsing, recording and playing a public performance on Saturday September 20th. An album will be finished in Los Angeles and is scheduled for release in early 2015. Also, a videography documenting the making of the album will be released as well as videos and performances. A world tour beginning in March 2015 is in the planning stages.

The Anderson Ponty Band announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign today July 25th beginning at 2PM Eastern. The campaign will encourage fans and friends to become a stakeholder in the project. Numerous tiers of donations will be rewarded by album downloads, premium CD/DVD packages, VIP ticket access, merchandising, special one of a kind collectibles, special meet and greets with the band and much more.
