Krautrock Ensemble Hedersleben To Release Third Album “The Fall Of Chronopolis”

“A powerful voice & intense musicianship.” - Henry Rollins

San Francisco - Hot on the heels of their critically second album Die Neuen Welten, Krautrockers Hedersleben will be releasing the progressive rock concept album The Fall Of Chronopolis on November 20 on Purple Pyramid Records.

Hedersleben was founded by former UK Subs guitarist Nicky Garratt in Germany 2011 and has since gone on, along with mainstays Kephera Moon and Jason Willer, to be the backing band for Hawkwind legend Nik Turner on his 2013 album Space Gypsy as well as a forthcoming 2016 album not to mention making special guest appearances on Turner’s newest release Space Fusion Odyssey.

Following the success of Space Gypsy, Hedersleben worked with original Brainticket Keyboard/Flute/Sitar player Joel Vandroogenbroeck, recording a new album for his legendary Swiss band. Hedersleben recorded their debut album Upgoer back-to-back with Brainticket’s double album Past, Present & Future. In 2013 Hedersleben embarked on their first national tour, both opening for and backing Nik Turner.

Hedersleben's second, highly acclaimed album Die Neuen Welten featured guest vocalist Kati Knox, and was again recorded at Megasonic Sound in May, 2014. Side A of Die Neuen Welten was set to film by San Francisco filmmaker Erren Franklin. A one-off gig in June, 2014, featured special guest Captain Sensible on second guitar. The show was filmed at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records in Oakland. In August, 2014, Hedersleben took to the road again on a repeat of the previous year’s tour with Nik Turner. Again Hedersleben both opened for and backed Turner.

Hedersleben's third album, The Fall Of Chronopolis is released to coincide with their third national tour, again opening for and backing Nik Turner. The thrilling third album from Hedersleben follows the epic story of the rise and fall of the Chronotic Empire based on the book by Barrington J. Bayley. - packaged in a 6 panel digipak for CD and a gatefold for the vinyl!

Here's what the press have raved about Hedersleben!

“If you enjoy the atmosphere of 60s psych, with some early Floyd percussion and Doorsesque keyboard work, brought right up to date with modern synth playing and song writing then this album is likely to bring you a great deal of pleasure. Certainly for me it pushed all the right buttons and comes highly recommended.” - Steve Judd, Terrascope, UK

“In the end not only is the music trance-like and hypnotic it's also downright enjoyable, even entertaining. Is it retro or nostalgic? I suppose some might consider it so, but Hedersleben seem to have a very strong grip on the music they wish to create and they do it well.” - New Prog Releases

“A California bases band, named after a city halfway between Hanover and Berlin, featuring two former members of UK punk band, the UK Subs, playing seventies styled Krautrock / spacerock. But sometimes, weird is good.” - The Rocker, UK

“The tunes are strong and the artists are all well adept at their craft. Dig prog rock? You will dig this!
4 Stars” - Bop & Jazz (Critical Jazz), USA

“The imposing 'Zu Den Neuen Welten' ideally illustrates this paradox, long instrumental pad 17 minutes looking like a relic unearthed by archaeologists sound. A listen, it's like back over forty years ago with the same sound and the same patina fluffy atmospheres. And it works.” - Music Waves, France

“It's a tranquil end to Die Neuen Welten an album with many ebbs & flows, lots of little nuances popping up that tantalize your senses without trying to do too much but certainly providing enough of a spark to keep you hooked from start to finish.” - Sea Of Tranquility, USA

“The band take the listener into a bath of space rock almost time between 'Space Oddity' by David Bowie, the solo works of Syd Barrett, the epics of Hawkwind and classic albums of Tangerine Dream. For a pageant is a pageant.” - Rock Folk Blues, Belgium

“The band brings you along on a journey through sound and space as they stretch out their sound, which makes Pink Floyd's 'Meddle' sound like a pop song compared to this adventurous piece of music.” - JP's Music Blog, USA

“Krautrock rhythms, hazy atmospheres and 'Ummagumma' style psychedelic freakouts. What more could you ask for?” - Aural Innovation, USA

Krautrockers Hedersleben Featuring UK Subs Member Nicky Garratt To Release Second Album 'Die Neuen Welten'

San Francisco, CA – Hedersleben, the cosmic Krautrock outfit from Oakland, California, featuring UK Subs member Nicky Garratt, are set to release their second album, ‘Die Neuen Welten,’ on August 26th, 2014. Hedersleben originated through the paradoxical paths of playing clubs in the streets of Oakland and The Kosmische Musik Zentrum Projekt in Hedersleben, Germany. In their first year, they have recorded two full-length albums as Hedersleben and gone on to record with the likes of Brainticket and Hawkwind’s Nik Turner. Hedersleben were featured on the new Brainticket album with founding member Joel Vandroogenbroeck (due for release later this year) co-writing a number of pieces, and various members played on Nik Turner’s acclaimed album, ‘Space Gypsy.’ In 2013 Hedersleben went on tour with Nik Turner, both as his backing band and opening act. These sonic explorers of the universe are keeping busy; late August will see them again joining Hawkwind’s Nik Turner on the late Summer/early Fall tour of North America. On the 2014 North American tour, Hedersleben will back Nik Turner as well as promote their new album, ‘Die Neuen Welten,” while introducing new pieces from their next record, ‘The Fall of Chronopolis,’ due to be recorded in 2015.

Says Nicky Garratt, "The past year has been the most musically rewarding for me since 1977. Aside from working with legendary progressive artists, it is a great sense of relief to have a universe of musical possibilities ahead."

Die Neuen Welten ( THE NEW WORLDS ) -  In 2009, Nasa launched the Kepler space telescope. Kepler discovered nearly 1,000 confirmed extrasolar planets in 76 star systems and thousands more that are yet un-confirmed. Die Neuen Welten is an aural expedition into this unveiled realm of new worlds out there in the darkness.

Nik Turner's Hawkwind To Tour North America With Witch Mountain And Hedersleben This Summer/Fall 2014!

Los Angeles, CA - In the spirit of the critically acclaimed and historic 'Space Ritual' tour of 1973, Nik Turner's Hawkwind plan to blow minds on their sonic and visually stimulating journey on their 2014 North American tour with Portland's own Witch Mountain and SF bay area Krautrockers Hedersleben. Starting in August, this package tour is not to be missed by anyone, in hopes to enlighten and inspire both people who have witnessed last year's tour or any of Nik's tours prior and the first timers, bringing sonic traditions of old to the forefront of 2014. Attendees and Nik Turner's Hawkind fans will not be disappointed. Though staying true to the spirit of Space Ritual as a concept, don't be surprised to hear other classics, songs off of the 2013 release 'Space Gypsy' album and perhaps a new song or two as Nik Turner prepares to return to the studio after the tour. Nik also has a new fusion project forthcoming featuring Billy Cobham and Chris Poland (Megadeth) later this year.

“This tour is the essence of space-rock, the extra-terrestrial, inter-galactic, orgasmic embodiment of the loving and healing vibrations, and the rocking music of the spheres, flame on, one love.” - Nik Turner

We feel sure that our music will be 'out there' enough to reach the heads, and Nik Turner and co will sufficiently rock our fans in turn. It's a match made in Hell and we can't wait to hit the road.”

Hedersleben

Year 1 report...“It was the same time last year that Hedersleben accompanied Nik Turner on a space trek around the USA promoting their debut album 'Upgoer'. Since then the crew have not been resting on their cosmic sofa rather they’ve pressed on to new and exciting ventures, including completing the next Brainticket album as the legendary Joel Vandroogenbroeck’s side-kicks (including many writing credits), launched their first headline tour of the west coast, preformed a showcase with special guest Captain Sensible from the Damned, (See the Hedersleben Facebook page for footage) and not least recorded their 2nd album 'Die Neuen Welten'.

'Die Neuen Welten', featuring the epic side long “Zu Den Neuen Welten”, (Youtube video scheduled for mid August), celebrates the Kepler mission space telescopes discoveries of more than 2000 exoplanets. DNW also boasts the studio version of stage favorite “(On The Ground) Safe and Sound”. The album is mixed by J├╝rgen Engler of Die Krupps.

Prog fans look out for further large sections of Hedersleben’s 3rd album, slated for recording early next year, as part of this tours set. 'The Fall Of Chronopolis', based on the book of the same name by Barrington J. Bayley, is distinctly more progressive in the tradition of the great early prog concept album. See you in August or September” - Nicky Garratt
