Featuring ERIC BURDON (The Animals), IAN ANDERSON (Jethro Tull), YES (Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White), DAVE COUSINS (The Strawbs), JUDY DYBLE (Fairport Convention), Nazareth (PETE AGNEW & DAN MCCAFFERTY), STEVE ABBOTT (UK Decay) and SONJA KRISTINA (Curved Air)

Los Angeles, CA – Cleopatra Entertainment will release the rock music magazine story “MELODY MAKERS the Bible of Rock 'n' Roll,” in Hollywood CA on November 29, 2019. The directorial documentary debut feature from venerable and respected Canadian award-winning filmmaker, and Female Eye Film Festival founder/director Leslie Ann Coles, the immensely entertaining and insightful documentary MELODY MAKERS will screen at the ARENA CINELOUNGE, from NOVEMBER 29 to DECEMBER 5th, 2019 with a special Q&A with Director Leslie Ann Coles, on Monday, December 2nd at 6:30pm. In addition, Cleopatra will release the film to VOD Platforms coinciding with a home entertainment DVD version on December 17th, 2019.

MELODY MAKERS is not just another music doc. It chronicles the birth of music journalism and the world’s oldest and longest standing seminal music magazine; Melody Maker. Through a series of interviews from artists (Ian Anderson/JETHRO TULL, Eric Burdon/THE ANIMALS, Alan White, Steve Howe and Chris Squire/YES, among others) and journalists of the time, the film tells the true story of the rise and fall of the world’s most influential music publication and uncovers an era of tremendous creative freedom.

At the heart of the story is Barrie Wentzell, Chief Contributing Photographer of Melody Maker Magazine (1965-1975) and his iconic photographic archive of legendary musicians during the birth of the rock 'n roll era, who along with his journalist colleagues gained unprecedented access to bands and musicians that would go on to become the legends of rock n' roll. Wentzell's photos are the touchstone of this documentary as the photographer and others recount the many untold stories from behind the pictures. Barrie recalls a Peter Townshend telling him about an idea he had for a rock opera when Tommy was a concept. Melody Maker journalist, Chris Charlesworth recalls when the magazine tried to expand into the US market without paying off the mobsters who controlled magazine distribution in key cities such as New York, and PR Keith Altham shares an anecdotal story about a publicity stunt gone awry involving the notorious drummer, Keith Moon and a hovercraft.

Beyond the visual stories told, Melody Maker includes interviews ERIC BURDON (The Animals), IAN ANDERSON (Jethro Tull), YES (Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White), DAVE COUSINS (The Strawbs), JUDY DYBLE (Fairport Convention), Nazareth (PETE AGNEW & DAN MCCAFFERTY), SONJA KRISTINA (Curved Air) and SEVE ABBOTT (UK Decay); journalists CHRIS WELCH, CHRIS CHARLESWORTH, ALLAN JONES (Senior Editor UNCUT Magazine); ALAN LEWIS; and other notable subjects PETER WHITEHEAD (filmmaker Charlie My Darling), ROGER DEAN (artist), JEFF DEXTER (DJ/ Promoter), KEITH ALTHAM (PR for The Rolling Stones, The Who) and GLEN COLSON (Stiff Records) to name a few.

TAIL WINDS MUSIC FESTIVAL TO FEATURE A DAY OF INCREDIBLE BANDS HEADLINED BY CHRIS ROBINSON BROTHERHOOD

If you are a rock fan and live nearby Wappingers Falls, New York, then Saturday, June 29th is a date you will want to leave open - it is the day that the 2019 edition of the Tail Winds Music Fest will take place at Hudson Valley Regional Airport. The all-day event will feature headliner Chris Robinson Brotherhood, with additional sets by the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime, King’s X, and Sass Jordan.

General admission tickets are priced at $65, and a VIP experience is also available for $165 (tickets for kids twelve years of age and under will be $25) - very affordable prices indeed for such renowned rock acts. Tickets are available for purchase via tailwindsmusicfest.com.

And the artists are very much looking forward to rocking that day, as recently told to Chris Alo from More Sugar Music Magazine...

CHRIS ROBERTSON (BLACK STONE CHERRY)

Man, two bands I have always wanted to see my whole life was Kings X and The Black Crowes. To be on the bill and sandwiched between Kings X and The Chris Robinson Brotherhood is just amazing. Kings X, they are one of the greatest groove rock and roll bands of all time, in my opinion. They have just a massive sound, what they get out of three people is just amazing. I am a huge fan of Chris Robinson and just everything that he has done. It’s awesome and overwhelming to be on the bill with such amazing artists. We are just excited to be coming up to play this festival. We are excited about playing with some artists that we have never got the chance to play with before. We hope everyone at the festival accepts us and has a great time.

SASS JORDAN
Some of my old buddies in Geoff Tate’s Operation Mindcrime are playing the Tailwinds Music Festival. I haven’t seen them since I toured with them in 2014. I’ve met Chris Robinson before and I know Doug from Kings X, but I haven’t seen him in about a thousand years. I’m really looking forward to this show, I think it’s an awesome cause and I think it will be just a great show. I do hope that a lot of people come out to the show and that everyone can hang out and that we have a fantastic party. That’s what it’s all about, we are there to celebrate life. I’m assuming I will be on first because I’m the least famous of the lot, I think. So, I will be on early and then I’m going to watch the rest of the show, so then I can have a few drinks with everyone.

GEOFF TATE

I'm definitely looking forward to the show, I haven't seen Sass Jordan since she toured with us and sang on "Suite Sister Mary". I know King’s X for sure and I haven’t done a show with Chris Robinson in a long time. Queensryche did a big Monsters of Rock show in Europe with AC/DC and Metallica, Black Crowes was the opening band. I haven't seen him since then.

JERRY GASKILL (KING’S X)
Oh yeah, I am looking forward to it. I always look forward to doing festivals and playing new things like that. It will be our first weekend after we record our new album. Really? Wow, I really would have never guessed that [concerning Chris Robertson’s admiration of King’s X], I like those guys too. I'm always honored by that sort of thing. It's a beautiful thing to think that people that I look up to could turn around and look up to me as well. It's a pretty great thing to be a part of. I don't think we have ever done a show with any of these other artists. Sass Jordan has covered one of our songs. There's a video somewhere of her playing "Summerland". I have done a few cruises with Geoff Tate, just him, not the whole band. That's always fun.

Hosted by CM-MC Festivals, Inc., the Tail Winds Music Fest is presented by iHeartMedia and Z93FM at the Hudson Valley Regional Airport located at 263 New Hackensack Road in Wappingers Falls, New York. The impressive 40’ main stage sits alongside the runway, and will feature additional performances by Big Guns, The PlayBack and Jason Gisser Band, with gates opening at 11 am.

There will also be a variety of food trucks, craft beer breweries (as well as other beverage vendors), sponsor displays, tent alley, helicopter rides, mobile lockers, vendors and activities for all attendees to take part throughout the day such as cornhole. An exciting addition like no other is the Exclusive VIP Experience, which includes a one-of-a-kind hospitality lounge, world renowned all you can eat buffet and a VIP private viewing area.

The 5,000+ music fans will have an amazing experience all while raising money for a very important cause!

Los Angeles, CA - On May 10th, 2019, Cleopatra Entertainment - in association with Cleopatra Blues - will release a brand new concert film Viva Las Vegas Live from Grammy Award-nominated Blues legend Joe Louis Walker. Directed by Brent Backhus, this stunning 85-minute concert was captured in all its glory at the infamous Boulder Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada last summer during Walker’s 2018 U.S. tour.

Joe Louis Walker’s career has spanned nearly six decades – and 24 studio albums – since first picking up the guitar at his childhood home in San Francisco at the young age of eight. Joining the local musicians’ union in his early teens enabled young Joe to perform publicly with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Buddy Miles, Thelonious Monk, Willie Dixon, Nick Lowe, John Mayall, Muddy Waters and even Jimi Hendrix. King (on King’s Blues Summit album) and James Cotton (on Cotton’s Deep In The Blues album) as well as enjoying the rare honor to perform at the Presidential Inauguration of President George H. Bush. In 2013, Walker was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, later being nominated in four categories for a Blues Music Award. In 2015, his album Everybody Wants A Piece was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best Contemporary Blues Album” category.

Viva Las Vegas Live will be available on global digital platforms along with the home entertainment version that will be packaged in a gorgeous, four-panel, 2 Disc Digipack containing a DVD and audio CD of the concert. The all-region DVD’s bonus features include an exclusive interview with Walker that was filmed backstage at the venue plus a rare, behind the scenes slideshow of Joe and his band as they prepare to storm through ten, smoking tracks in front of their adoring live audience. Keyboard Icon Rick Wakeman and Legendary Astronaut Chris Hadfield Pay Tribute To Stephen Hawking and David Bowie At Starmus Festival 2016

London, UK - In a rare meeting of the minds, keyboard icon Rick Wakeman and legendary astronaut paid tribute to Stephen Hawking at the Starmus Festival in Tenerife, Spain on July 1, 2016! The two legends performed a moving tribute David Bowie with their rendition of his classic song “Space Oddity”.

Watch the video:

The Starmus Festival was born with the aim of making the most universal science and art accessible to the public. Traditionally the perfect symbiosis between astronomy, art and music, STARMUS 2016 brought together not only the brightest minds from these areas but many others besides, as we debate the future of humanity with scientists, business people at the cutting edge, and celebrities of all kinds.

Chris Austin Hadfield is a retired Canadian astronaut who was the first Canadian to walk in space. An engineer and former Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot, Hadfield has flown two space shuttle missions and served as commander of the International Space Station.

Commander Hadfield originally performed a cover Bowie's “Space Oddity” on board the International Space Station in 2013. He posted the video on the internet which immediately became a global sensation, being the first ever music video performed in space. Although he had made the video for a number of reasons, Hadfield felt that, “Maybe most importantly, it was a chance to let people see where we truly are in space exploration”. David Bowie himself responded saying that the cover of his 1969 song was “possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created”. The guitar Hadfield used to perform the song is still on the space station where it will remain forever!

Rick Wakeman, who played mellotron on the original version of Bowie's “Space Oddity” says, “It’s a real honour to have played on probably the two most iconic versions of 'Space Oddity', the brilliant original with David of course and now this very special version with Chris that was born 300 miles from planet earth!”

While the Starmus Festival 2016 was paying tribute to Hawking, the promoters also decided to pay tribute to David Bowie! Why? Because Bowie and Hawking share the same birthday - January 8th. Also, Bowie was very much inspired by Space, Astronomy etc… He was invited to Starmus but the invitation arrived the same day he passed…
