Featured Track-Sample The Cat-The Weather

Sample The Cat is a 3-piece American band from Berkshire County, Massachusetts, featuring the powerful soul vocalist Kendrah Bellevue, melodic rock guitarist Steve Dalton at lead and the prodigious Bryan Brophy on keys. Their latest release is a hauntingly beautiful track titled "The Weather."

The music is a step away from the fusion of jazz, funk, and soul that they perform so well. They are gradually getting enough tracks together, all original, to release a full album.

The timing of this release is perfect for those feeling "The Weather." Not everyone is jolly this time of year, and the last two years have been challenging. The music speaks the truth and lifts your soul.

"The Weather" is a beautiful tapestry of sound and voice to bring the message home with conviction. Sample The Cat wants those suffering to know they are not alone. Music like this soothes you and gives you inner peace and a reprieve from the crazy world around us. As Kendrah sings from her heart and feels the song, her voice's strength and emotion permeate the equally outstanding music accompanying her.

So stop for a few minutes, listen to the words and music, and give in the spirit of humanity to help others less fortunate.

The track speaks volumes for those suffering from depression and the "Winter Blues." They ask you to donate anything you can here in support of mental health.

Featured Track: Love Ghost-Quiet Voices

Love Ghost is back with their second track feature on Rate The Tracks.

"Quiet Voices" is not so quiet really. The artwork is most certainly dark and demented, and the music is a good match to what they are trying to convey in the song.

I think what the message is here is that the "quiet" voices can be just as effective and dangerous as the ones that scream.

They pull out all the stops and make this a real alternative rock-punk juggernaut. The seemingly quiet voices from the lead singer turn into a more convincing and powerful one to go along with the crashing rhythm section and in your face guitar lines.

"Quiet Voices" is like an early morning wake-up call and a warning as to what is to come if you don't pay attention. They really do get your attention on this track in every way possible!

More About Candice:

http://www.candice-night.com

Did you have a  dream?

I did...I'll tell you mine...as a child I always dreamed of being a singer. I had a vivid imagination and it was easy for me to transport myself to a simpler, more magical time. I took acting and singing lessons from the age of 4 and became involved in modeling, commerical work and little theater productions. As a teen music was my great escape. I knew I had to be around music for my career so I went to work at a radio station and as chance would have it met my husband.  It was 1989. He was in Deep Purple and challenged our radio station to a charity soccer match.

He took me on the road with him in 1993 and when he needed a singer for his Difficult To Cure Solo, asked me to be his voice.

He then reformed Rainbow and needed a lyricist. I co-wrote 4 songs on the Stranger In Us All cd and won my first of many gold records and awards.

In our downtime we wrote music that was a release from the stress of the world. A place of fantasy, of star filled skies, castles on hillsides and honor and chivalry. Breathing new life into melodies from the 12th to 15 hundreds we added new lyrics and instrumentation. This musical escape became our band: Blackmore's Night. We have performed in this incarnation for 18 years releasing cds almost yearly.

We tour castles with an 8 piece band and play a wide variety of music from Renaissance to Rock to Folk to ballads and instrumentals. We wear garb from another time and encourage our audience to do the same to be a part of the journey.

I have also released a solo cd entitled: Reflections and we do a lot of work with animal charities worldwide.

And, yes, I am living my dream....
