Featured Track: Cheryl B. Engelhardt-Ithaca

Cheryl B. Englehardt has been having quite a creative renaissance with the release of her magnificent album Luminary in 2020 and so many other projects going on simultaneously.

Now to follow that up to keep the momentum of her creative process flowing, she has released "Ithaca," a special single track.

The song features ambient textures layered around a singular acoustic piano and relaxing synths, provided by Cheryl. And to make it all complete her amazing chanting voice. Cheryl creates all of her music by herself and is not afraid to experiment and try something new.

"Ithaca" is a superb new age track meant for deep immersion into our soul and spirit. Healing is here for the taking and in 3:11 minutes you can find yourself at the doorway of enlightenment. Fair warning, you will want more! If so check out here albums her Website

New Age Instrumental-Ambient Review:David Wahler-MOSAIC

Release Date: Feb 15, 2018
Label: Independent
Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It is a technique of decorative art or interior decoration. That is how that word is defined. So how is it defined in a regard to music? You can think of it in the same way except this artist took pieces of music and put it all together to create his own work of art or musical painting if you will.

MOSAIC is the title of David Wahler’s latest release. The 11 tracks encompassing this record gives the potential listener a slice of utopia. This is a place one can go and forget about their troubles and live in peace and harmony with their surroundings.

I can see how it can take some time to write, produce and record an album. The new release is filled with piano, synthesizer, and various electronic textures, colors, and sounds of nature. The effort that went into this solo voyage incorporates all the tools an artist like David needs to record the music he intended. I would say that this recording turned out to be everything he could have wished for.

When I hear music that reminds me of artists like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and even some of the instrumentals on David Bowie’s Low, it gives me a pause to reflect. Brian Eno’s work was also influential in the ambient and synth-oriented genres. He partnered with Bowie on that release and others. When “Fou d'amour” started playing, it sparked all of those feelings and thoughts in me. Inside I was smiling. This was recognition for David and all the others that came before him to lay the groundwork for him to forge his own path.

The music that you will find on MOSAIC will endure the passing of time because it is transcendental. It crosses over and blurs the self-imposed lines in the sand some listeners may have. For my ears, it immediately lets my guard down, relaxes me and helps me to remember where this music originated in the first place. From where I sit that is very important and makes my experience that much more richer and enlightening.

Thank you, David, for the beautiful music that touched me in ways so many other genres simple cannot.

Instrumental New Age/Ambient Review: Michael Whalen-Kiss The Quiet

Release Date: February 2, 2018
Label: Spout

Add caption
Kiss The Quiet is one of the best titles I have ever seen for an instrumental new age album. The title most certainly lives up to its name as well.

Michael Whalen is the architect of this recording. He uses ambient piano, synthesizers and electronics for a superb blend of atmospheric qualities and moods.

Kiss The Quiet softly encourages you to listen and when you do it is all over, you are hooked. This is great music for meditation, focusing or just relaxing and emptying your mind. It is rhythmic and soulful, and not soulful in a musical sense but coming from deep down in the soul of the artist. This music emerges to touch you in many ways.

I think people that have the gift and talent to create music like this are blessed. They are willing to share their blessing with us, the listeners, so we can heal, realign the chakras and feel whole once again. That is how I honestly feel about this music.

It kisses your soul, with a touch of heaven added it has the ability to remove you from a physical body and lead you into another type of existence. I feel this way even without meditation, I enter a different realm and let my inner most thoughts arrive and translate it for you here in my reviews. That is a blessing I receive each time I have the opportunity to share my thoughts on music. You can call it the ether where thoughts come and go and are either processed or reflected upon.

You can Kiss The Quiet and feel something different as you let the music envelope you heart and soul. You will be moved by this experience and it is one you will want to feel more than once, I can guarantee it. For this listener after taking in music like this for several years, I have come to know myself very well. It can work for any listener if you just calm the ongoing thoughts and let the music take over.
