Robert Vincent Releases His Single ‘Separate The Fiction From The Fact’ on 6th November From Next Year’s Album of the Same Name

The single ‘Separate The Fiction From The Fact’ opens a new chapter for award-winning Liverpool singer-songwriter Robert Vincent. Expansive, soulful and thought-provoking, the title track takes Vincent's roots songwriting into atmospheric folk-rock and psychedelic territory, bringing a distinctly late-60s/70s character to his unmistakable voice and writing. At the heart of the song - and the forthcoming album - is a search for truth in an age of noise, misinformation and division. Vincent looks outward at an increasingly uncertain world while questioning his own place within it: what can one person change, and can writing songs ever be enough?

Robert says “I look at the world and wonder what I can actually do to change anything. Am I enough just writing songs about these things? But it's all I've ever known, and I believe words have power. We're living in a strange time. It's getting harder to know what's true and what's not. We're fed what people want us to see, pushed further apart, turned against each other. Sometimes it feels like we're living in the very future Orwell and Huxley warned us about.

“But I'm not just pointing the finger at the world. I'm questioning myself too. Could I be a better person? Have I learnt from my mistakes? How do we find love and hope when everything around us feels so divided? I don't have the answers. It's never as simple as writing a love song and hoping everything will be alright. But I still believe we have to keep trying”.

That's what ‘Separate The Fiction From The Fact’ is about. Trying to make sense of it all, finding some truth in the noise, remembering what's important and believing that as people we all have a resonance that can bring a change for good.

Love, not hate. Sleep and repeat which is at the end of the song; In such divisive times, There is positivity and hope to be found in the resonance of people coming together with the intention of love - not hate".

ANDREW GOLD’S PASTICHE PSYCHEDELIC MASTERPIECE FEATURING 10CC LEGEND GRAHAM GOULDMAN.

Andrew Gold’s pastiche psychedelic masterpiece “The Fraternal Order of the All – Greetings from Planet Love” will be released on CD on July 28, 2023.

Initially released in 1997, the album was conceived by Andrew Gold as a tribute to late 60s psychedelic rock. His remarkable compositions were wonderful stylistic evocations of artists such as The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Byrds and The Doors.

The project saw Gold create the fictitious band The Fraternal Order of the All, in reality Andrew playing most of the instrumentation and singing, along with guest musicians such as 10cc legend Graham Gouldman.

Also available as a limited edition double LP is pressed on 10-inch colored splatter vinyl and features a newly designed lavish gatefold sleeve.

Deluxe Box Set LOST MASTERS & DEMOS Features Unreleased Recordings From TODD RUNDGREN’s ‘60s Power-Pop Project NAZZ!

Los Angeles, CA – Attention music collectors and Todd Rundgren enthusiasts everywhere! Purple Pyramid Records, a subsidiary of Cleopatra Records Inc., is proud to announce the release of an extravagant box set of long-lost studio recordings by the ‘60s power-pop/psych project that brought Todd Rundgren his first taste of musical notoriety and, Nazz. These tracks are taken directly from the original master acetates of the originally conceived 1968 rough mix of Nazz's sophomore album Nazz Nazz. It was at the sessions that Rundgren took his first turn behind the mixing board, developing the production skills and techniques that made him the highly acclaimed producer he is today!

Rundgren’s ambitious vision for the second Nazz album actually encompassed 26 songs spread across 2 LPs. And although the recordings were eventually scrapped and most of the songs reserved for the band’s third album III, these early versions of the songs would profoundly shape not just Nazz’s sound but the trajectory of Rundgren’s own career. In addition, the other recently discovered acetates contain alternate mixes of Nazz’s signature tune “Open My Eyes” as well as the future Rundgren hit “Hello, It’s Me.”

Set for full release on December 2, Lost Masters & Demos brings all of these rarities into one gorgeous package, available as either a 3CD set or 4LP set, that includes a full-color booklet with detailed liner notes from music historian Michael Armes as well as an extensive interview with Nazz engineer and future engineer on Rundgren’s first three solo albums PLUS tons of rare photos! Captain Beefheart And The Magic Band Alumni Jeff Cotton To Release His Debut Solo Album “The Fantasy Of Reality” On Madfish August 12, 2022

Jeff Cotton of Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band fame will be releasing his first ever solo album “The Fantasy of Reality” on Madfish on August 12, 2022.

After playing guitar, lap steel and vocals with the legendary Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, appearing on the ground breaking album “Trout Mask Replica” (under the pseudonym Antennae Jimmy Semens), as well as playing on “Strictly Personal” & “Mirror Man,” Cotton withdrew from the commercial music business for nearly 50 years. Using the island state of Hawaii as a home base, he emerges from his seclusion in 2022 with his first ever solo album; “The Fantasy of Reality.”

Whimsical, playful and tongue-in-cheek – Cotton delivers a psychedelic journey that will delight Beefheart devotees while bringing plenty of new ideas to the table across the sprawling 22 track, 66-minute runtime. “Trout Mask Replica” cover designer Cal Schenkel collaborates once again as he returns to contribute to the internal artwork of the album to continue the Captain Beefheart canon into the 2020s.

Across the decades, the Magic Band’s power and influence has only grown in might, and the cult following of 1969’s “Trout Mask Replica” still excites fans to this day, in part due to the mystery and enigma of members such as Antennae Jimmy Semens (aka Jeff Cotton). In 1967, Cotton was scoped by Don Van Vliet – Captain Beefheart himself, replacing Ry Cooder on guitar. 10cc Legends Godley & Creme Unreleased Album “Frabjous Days - The Secret World Of Godley & Creme 1967-1969” Available For Pre-order!

• First-ever issue of unreleased 1969 studio album from pre- Hotlegs/10cc duo Godley And Creme during their days as Frabjoy And Runcible Spoon.

• Classic UK late 60s psychedelic/folk sound recorded at Advision Studios with support from future 10cc colleagues Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart.

In mid-1969, legendary British R&B/psychedelic enabler Giorgio Gomelsky signed two Manchester-based art students, renaming them Frabjoy And Runcible Spoon.

Envisaging the pair as a British Simon And Garfunkel, Gomelsky recorded an LP with them for release on his Marmalade label. A pre-LP single appeared, but sadly the album’s release was cancelled after Giorgio spent the rent and staged a disappearing act.

53 years later, Grapefruit Records is thrilled to host this tantalizing missing piece of the pre-10cc jigsaw puzzle.

A hugely accomplished set, it incorporates impossibly fragile ballads like “Chaplin House” and “Today” alongside US West Coast-style rocker “Cowboys And Indians” and the Beatles-ish “It’s The Best Seaside In The World”.

“Frabjous Days” adds Gouldman’s sole Marmalade cut plus further late 60s material, including their early 1968 single as “The Yellow Bellow Room Boom”.

Housed in a stylish, previously unpublished 1969 Marmalade promo photo of the pair, the fabulous “Frabjous Days” is a digipak release with a 28-page booklet containing a new 6000 word essay and some extremely rare photos and memorabilia.

Prior to his passing Daevid set up the “Daevid Allen Family Trust” or D.A.F.T. for short for his children. The aim and focus with D.A.F.T. is to preserve Daevid’s legacy of Poetry, Music & Hand Drawn Illustrations for the fans and future generations in one place.

And now we are happy to announce that 2021 is the year to be D.A.F.T!

Secondly, we are also happy to announce that there will be a box set coming soon called “Deya Dreaming” which is a collection of unreleased music from Daevid’s time in Deia, Mallorca.

He was co-founder of legendary music groups Soft Machine and Gong. He left Gong in 1975 to begin a solo career (though his first solo album, “Banana Moon,” was released in 1971 while he was still in the band). Daevid went on to release several innovative solo albums over the next 4 decades. His solo work also included collaborations with artists like Kramer, Acid Mothers Temple, and California-based bands University of Errors and Spirits Burning. Daevid would also record and tour with various incarnations of Gong throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s. Daevid continued to release numerous live sets and one-off collaborations in limited editions on various independent labels under his own and various group names up until his passing in 2015.

New SYD BARRETT Tribute Celebrates 50 Years Since The Release of “The Madcap Laughs” and “Barrett”

“LOVE YOU – a tribute to SYD BARRETT” celebrates 50 years since the release of “The Madcap Laughs” and “Barrett”. The double CD box will be released by the prestigious English label Gonzo Multimedia on the 6th of January, 2021. 75 years exactly from Syd’s birth. “LOVE YOU” is a song recorded by Syd in 1970. It’s included in “Barrett”, the second solo album of his.

The new tribute also includes two particularly significant bonus tracks too: “Astronomy Dominé” and “Vegetable Man” characterizing the beginning and the end of Syd’s Floydian era.

Every single note in these two CD’s has been expressed with love. Love shown by the artists who took part by arranging Syd’s music in their own way.

Our project is to collect, for the first time, all the songs Syd Barrett recorded after his experience with Pink Floyd. To realize it we invited many artists from various parts of the world - Italy, Mexico, France, Ireland, UK, USA, Sweden, Japan, Belgium Germany, The Netherlands - and asked them to choose one song and rearrange it in their own way.

Among them and without detracting from the others, we would like to mention:  

Luca Ferrari: journalist and writer; one of the first in the world to publish fanzines, articles and books about Syd.

Dave Harris: former lead singer of “Fashion” he is well known to Pink Floyd fans thanks to ZEE:IDENTITY, the album he released in 1984 – and  recently reprinted - together with Pink Floyd’s keyboard player Richard Wright.

John Cavanagh: Voiceover artist, broadcaster, musician, record producer, writer and performer. He is the author of the book “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” about the making of the first Pink Floyd album. The book was published in 2003 in the UK and then translated in many languages; Italian and Chinese among them.

Men On The Border: Swedish band devoted to Syd’s repertoire. In 2016 they took part in “Syd Barrett - A Celebration Concert” at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge.

Boris Savoldelli: a gifted vocal performer who is always challenging his “vocal instrument” with new and original ways of singing.

Dario Antonetti: musician from 1984 to today with Kryptästhesie, Gli Acidi Tonanti, Effetto Doppler, Inossidabile Orchestra Valsecchi, La Svolta Psichedelica, La Forma delle Nuvole. Producer of The Vegetable Man Project (a tribute to Syd Barrett focused on the song “Vegetable Man.” Lots of artists from all over the world took part and rearranged the song in their own way. 6 CD’s and a 10” vinyl EP were released between 2002 and 2009).

Nino Gatti: for 40 years historian, expert, biographer and collector of Pink Floyd. He has published fanzines and collaborated with various publications both in Italy and abroad. Author of several books about Pink Floyd and their members, both in his own name and together with The Lunatics. His activity also covers many websites devoted to the band.

On the artwork side:

Ian Barrett: Syd’s nephew; he is a fine visual artist and Jewellery designer. He creates unique jewels using meteorites, fossils and other rare materials.

Matteo Regattin: author of the beautiful graphic novel “Syd Barrett Jugband Blues. A graphic trip on the tracks of Syd Barrett”.

We would like to mention every single musician involved in this tribute, of course. Thanks to their passionate contribution this project has become true.

Dave Harris: former lead singer of “Fashion” he is well known to Pink Floyd fans thanks to ZEE:IDENTITY, the album he released in 1984 – and  recently reprinted - together with Pink Floyd’s keyboard player Richard Wright.

John Cavanagh: Voiceover artist, broadcaster, musician, record producer, writer and performer. He is the author of the book “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” about the making of the first Pink Floyd album. The book was published in 2003 in the UK and then translated in many languages; Italian and Chinese among them.

Men On The Border: Swedish band devoted to Syd’s repertoire. In 2016 they took part in “Syd Barrett - A Celebration Concert” at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge.

Boris Savoldelli: a gifted vocal performer who is always challenging his “vocal instrument” with new and original ways of singing.

Dario Antonetti: musician from 1984 to today with Kryptästhesie, Gli Acidi Tonanti, Effetto Doppler, Inossidabile Orchestra Valsecchi, La Svolta Psichedelica, La Forma delle Nuvole. Producer of The Vegetable Man Project (a tribute to Syd Barrett focused on the song “Vegetable Man.” Lots of artists from all over the world took part and rearranged the song in their own way. 6 CD’s and a 10” vinyl EP were released between 2002 and 2009).

Nino Gatti: for 40 years historian, expert, biographer and collector of Pink Floyd. He has published fanzines and collaborated with various publications both in Italy and abroad. Author of several books about Pink Floyd and their members, both in his own name and together with The Lunatics. His activity also covers many websites devoted to the band.

On the artwork side:

Ian Barrett: Syd’s nephew; he is a fine visual artist and Jewellery designer. He creates unique jewels using meteorites, fossils and other rare materials.

Matteo Regattin: author of the beautiful graphic novel “Syd Barrett Jugband Blues. A graphic trip on the tracks of Syd Barrett”.
