THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES: FOLLOWING OVERWHELMING RESPONSE, THE MOODY BLUES’ JOHN LODGE TRIBUTE SHOWS EXTENDED INTO WINTER 2026

A Tribute to The Moody Blues' John Lodge Promo

NEW YORK, NY — Following an incredible outpouring of love and support for the initial John Lodge Celebration shows in July 2026 - described by audiences as “emotional and unforgettable” - six additional winter tour dates have been officially announced. The highly anticipated extension will kick off at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD, on November 29, 2026, and culminate at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI, on December 6, 2026.  All dates are below.

The premiere July performances in Clearwater, Florida, and Esher, UK, captured a rare magic. By seamlessly weaving archival vocals and visual footage of John directly into the live set, it was as if John were performing in perfect harmony with his band. Earning both rave critical reviews and ecstatic fan acclaim for the amazing performances, this breathtaking technical feat created an incredibly powerful, spiritual atmosphere where audiences felt as though John were right there in the room with them.

John always said that he hoped people would leave his shows with joy in their hearts, and this is exactly how these shows left audiences - earning repeated standing ovations. As one attendee noted, “the love in the room was everywhere,” while another declared the concert “a masterstroke, very emotional & unforgettable.”

These upcoming winter events will once again bring audiences together to celebrate John Lodge, his legendary solo work, and the timeless music of The Moody Blues in what promises to be another deeply uplifting and joyful event.

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale this week. Exclusive Meet and Greet VIP packages with Jon, Alan and the band will also be available.

THE JOHN LODGE CELEBRATION – WINTER 2026 TOUR DATES:
• Nov 29 – Rams Head On Stage – Annapolis, MD
• Nov 30 – Bearsville Theater – Woodstock, NY
• Dec 01 – The Vogel – Red Bank, NJ
• Dec 03 – Infinity Hall – Hartford, CT
• Dec 04 – Keswick Theatre – Glenside, PA
• Dec 06 – Royal Oak Music Theatre – Royal Oak, MI

When The Moody Blues stopped touring in 2018, John made it his absolute passion to keep their music alive - a body of work he described as "the soundtrack of his life". Aided by his great friend and Music Director, Alan Hewitt (keyboards for The Moody Blues), alongside his 10,000 Light Years Band, John embarked on a series of tours to bring this iconic music to life. John's shows were always met with widespread praise from audiences and critics alike, featuring stunning lighting and video production that framed a catalog lovingly recreated and deeply true to the original recordings.

Throughout his solo career, John also used his stage to honor his bandmates, creating mesmerizing tributes to Ray Thomas ("Legend of a Mind"), Mike Pinder ("The Sunset"), and fulfilling a deeply personal wish by having drummer Graeme Edge record and film his poem "Late Lament" so, as John said, he could forever be on stage beside him.

During this period of creative rebirth, personal and professional worlds beautifully collided when John’s daughter Emily, met Jon Davison of the band YES. Not only did Emily and Jon fall in love and marry, but Jon and John became close friends, and Jon joined the ‘merry band of brothers’ on stage.

During the joyful tours that followed, and the long travel days, John and Jon continued to talk and make plans… everything and anything seemed possible as the miles rolled by, and one of the conversations was how much John wanted Jon and Alan to continue the band into the future.

Following John's sad passing last year, at first there was silence, and then Jon, Alan and Emily slowly began to talk about fulfilling that wish. Could they continue John’s mission to ‘Keep the Music Alive’? The seedling of hope grew as ideas flew between them. Long-time collaborator and videographer Andy Clark was brought in to begin the visual production. Jon picked up the bass guitar and began to master John's parts, while Alan started to make magic Moody Blues music again.

Their efforts exceeded all expectations. Hailed by critics as "a brilliant technical accomplishment" with "amazing sound, lighting, and live performances," the show features a curated setlist that explodes with massive hits and deep-cut fan favorites. Audiences can expect to hear timeless classics including "Nights in White Satin," "Isn’t Life Strange," "Legend of a Mind," "Ride My See-Saw," "Tuesday Afternoon," “Gemini Dream,” and "I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)" plus so much more.

Exclusive VIP packages will be available, offering fans a unique Meet and Greet opportunity with John's 10,000 Light Years Band - featuring Jon Davison and Alan Hewitt, alongside Billy Ashbaugh on drums (from The Moody Blues touring band), Duffy King on guitars, and Jason Charboneau on cello.

Designed to touch hearts and spread happiness, these unique winter shows will feature select USA tour dates, with potential for further extensions depending on fan response.

QUOTES FOR THE MEDIA:

"To be able to work with my darling Jon and the incredibly talented Alan on these shows for my father has been the thing that has made the sun shine again. It was so deeply moving to see everyone’s hard work come together in July, and to witness the love and joy flowing effortlessly both from the audience to the stage, and from the stage back to the audience. We are profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support from the fans, our agent, and the promoters who are making these additional winter shows possible. Their belief in this project allows us not just to heal, but to truly follow in my father’s wishes to keep the music alive. As my father always said, 'Thank You for Keeping the Faith.'"
— Emily Davison, September 2026

"I had a unique perspective of John in that I was lucky enough to become his son-in-law and close friend. I learned so much from my time with John, which included many exciting stage experiences performing beside his magnificent and magnetic personality. Along with the incredible Alan Hewitt and the 10,000 Light Years band, I’m thrilled to have the blessed opportunity to be standing by John’s side again."
— Jon Davison, February 2026

"John had a huge heart and was loved by so many. I will miss him and will miss being on stage playing those great songs with him, but this is the next best thing. I know he’ll be with us in spirit and smiling, knowing that we kept the promise we made before he left to fly with the angels."
— Alan Hewitt, February 2026

The Moody Blues’ John Lodge ‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’ – Dates Announced for December 2025!

‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’ Tour – Featuring Moody Blues Songs from the Classic Albums is heading to California, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma!

John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, has announced more dates for his electrifying new show titled ‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’! Dates are already on sale for the North East and Midwest, and now dates have been announced for California, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma. This will be the first time John has taken his show to many of these venues!

Following the phenomenal success of his ‘Days of Future Passed’ show over the last couple of years, John wanted to now go back to basics and bring a true Moody Blues show to the fans. What are the songs that he loved performing in the Moody Blues, and how could he recreate the sound and the feel of one of these special concerts. Thanks to the incredible musicianship of his band, and his experience of performing these songs over 50 years, John will perform these classic songs true to the original but with an extra dash of magic, evoking joy and nostalgia in equal measure.

It may no longer be possible to go to a ‘Moody Blues’ show, but as Gary Spiller said in a recent review “Check the dictionary entry for ‘timeless’ and evenings like this are right there!”

When John wrote the hit single ‘Singer’ in 1972 it was because people were looking to him to change the world, and his reply was he’s just a singer in a rock and roll band! Despite time marching on, that is still who is he today, and John’s shows will take you on a Moody Blues journey through the hits and deep cuts of this magical catalogue, together with stories and memories of this time.

This incredible new show feature songs from ‘the core seven albums’ including ‘Days of Future Passed’, Seventh Sojourn, and more, plus ‘Octave’ and the triple platinum selling album ‘Long Distance Voyager’.  It will bring together some of the captivating moments of his ‘Days of Future Passed’ show, John’s hits with the Moodies, and, of course, tributes to all his bandmates. This truly will be a show of Moodies Magic and ‘a trip worth taking and remembering’! (Tony Violanti)

Together with Jon Davison of YES and his 10,000 Light Years Band, John will lovingly recreate ‘I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)’, ‘Nights in White Satin’, ‘Ride my See-Saw’, ‘Gemini Dream’, ‘Tuesday Afternoon’, ‘The Voice’, ‘Steppin’ in Slide Zone’, ‘Isn’t Life Strange’ and much more. Electrifying video and lights will complete this incredible evening as the years roll back…

The December dates kick off on December 4th at Cerritos PAC, and end in Austin on December 14.  This will be John’s first solo shows in Austin and Oklahoma City, and he’s delighted to be able to continue to bring these shows to new audiences!

Limited VIP merch packages will also be available, go to: https://www.johnlodge.com/tour.

Following a stroke at the end of 2023, John has gone from strength to strength, driven by his love for this music, and his deeply held desire to ‘keep the Moody Blues music alive’. The critically acclaimed shows are testament to his passion and commitment, and as John says, his hope is that people leave with a little bit of joy around them.

“I’m delighted that we are announcing these dates for December - we’ve been having a blast putting the new show together, and I am so looking forward to the July tour starting next month, and being able to continue it into December. As many of you know California has always had a special place in my heart, and we love performing at Danny Zelisko’s venues in Arizona, plus new venues in Austin and Oklahoma City.

I am a ‘singer in a rock and roll band’, and it continues to fill me with joy to perform for my fans and share this music with them… music that is the soundtrack to my life, and to many others too…”

Following a stroke at the end of 2023, John has gone from strength to strength, driven by his love for this music, and his deeply held desire to continue to share it with the fans. The critically acclaimed shows in July and November 2024 are testament to his passion and commitment, and as John says, his hope is that people leave with a little bit of joy, and certainly the audience can be seen leaving with Moodies magic around them.

Joining John on stage are his 10,000 Light Years Band featuring Alan Hewitt and Billy Ashbaugh (from the Moody Blues touring band), Duffy King and Jason Charboneau, plus Jon Davison of YES will again be joining John on stage to provide his soaring vocals on ‘Nights in White Satin’ and ‘Tuesday Afternoon’.

“A lot of these places we used to go to as the Moody Blues, and I just want to give the fans a sense of that time again. It may not be a Moody Blues show, but Alan, Billy, Duffy, Jason and, of course Jon, create an incredible energy on stage, and such beautiful music. Then when Graeme appears on screen, and I turn to hear his beautiful words, it all makes me feel part of something very special, and I can feel I share it with the audience. Being on stage with them all, I think we all smile together, all of us on stage, and all of those in the audience. It’s a little moment away from the challenges of life.”

“Days of Future Passed” was released 58 years ago, and was arguably the start of progressive rock. John has surrounded himself with a band who put simply, love performing together, and who appreciate and respect the legacy of the music. The Moodies may not perform any more, and the loss of Graeme, Ray and Mike is felt deeply, but this show honours John’s friends and the music.

The electrifying show will also be in support of John’s new EP “Love Conquers All” out on Feb 14th, and available now for pre-order on Amazon and other online stores. Signed copies are also available including limited edition vinyl. The first single ‘Love Will Conquer All’ is available now on all streaming services and hit the No. 1 spot over New Year on the Fab Chart.

Prog Rock Review: The Moody Blues’ John Lodge-Days of Future Past-My Sojourn

Release Date: ‎ April 12, 2024

Label: Deko Entertaiment https://www.dekoentertainment.com/

Website:  https://www.johnlodge.com/

What more can be said about the iconic figure, John Lodge? As a bass player, songwriter, and vocalist, he was a pivotal member of the progressive rock pioneers, The Moody Blues. This is the version of a story that began in the ’60s of an ordinary man and continues to this day with the release of the silver 180-gram vinyl edition of Days of Future Past-My Sojourn.

This album is Lodge’s homage to the classic prog Moody Blues album Days of Future Past, a significant milestone in music history and a crucial part of prog rock's roots. With its unique sound quality and nostalgic appeal, the vinyl edition adds a new dimension to the listening experience, making it a must-have for any music enthusiast.

Listening to the original album, initially released in 1967 (remastered in 2017), it's astounding how it retains its relevance and influence even today. It set a timeless foundation for prog rock. While comparisons to the original are inevitable, my focus is on the enduring masterpiece that Mr. Lodge has created, a testament to the original's timeless influence.

Performed in eight magnificent parts, Lodge plays his bass and sings like it was all those decades ago with a commitment, respect, and deep love for what he and his mates created. This will be a must-have record for all prog-rock enthusiasts and Moody fans. Hearing it on vinyl was appropriate but a privilege I am grateful for, allowing me to experience it the same way it was initially heard.

The orchestral intro, a nod to the original album's overture, starts the proceedings, and a flute comes in, shaping into beautiful classical music as it turns into Moody’s song instrumentally. So, you have the words going through your mind.

God rest his soul. Graeme Edge provides two spoken-word parts for this album. We are fortunate that it was recorded for this project.

John’s voice resonates with unparalleled excellence on this recording, and his bass playing is, as expected, superb. The personal significance of this recording to John Lodge is unfathomable, and it's this deep personal connection that not only elevates the album to a new level of musical precision and performance but also brings a profound emotional depth to the music. From the first note to the last, this album strongly impacts the listener, a testament to its influence and deep personal connection.

“The Afternoon” and “Nights in White Satin” Are genuinely spine-tingling. Jon Davison (Yes vocalist) provided both vocals for the classic tracks, and we all know how Justin Hayward sang the originals prolifically. Davison's voice has an entirely different tone, of course, and he does a great job, especially in choruses where his full range can be heard. The excellence of everyone’s performance, including the indelible stamp left by The Moody Blues, is a testament to the high quality of this music.

Sometimes, the keyboards on this album can be haunting. Side B begins with “Afternoon.” The music is phenomenal as things move on from part to part of each segment. The rhythm sections are spot-on throughout each track, which may not be news to longtime fans, as Lodge was and still is one of the greatest bass players in rock.

Days of Future Past-My Sojourn is an updated version of the original enhanced and magnified with technologies that did not exist in 1967. It is breathtaking music and orchestration that any music fan can appreciate. It is a prog rock classic that has been renewed and appreciated by this fan, and I believe it will be by many more. It is accessible, not too complex or going into extended bombastic jams for which the genre is known.

This is a loving memory of a legendary recording revisited by one of the experts who was there when the original recording started to take shape. Don’t miss this vinyl version.
