Now, fans of Mr. Shatner can celebrate that historic, out-of-this-world trip with a fun commemorative single! Shatner’s brilliant rendition of Elton John’s classic “Rocket Man” was originally released as a part of his 2011 solo album Seeking Major Tom. The track featured guitar work from influential Gong axeman Steve Hillage and recently has been newly mixed by producer Jürgen Engler. This new version is being released on both digital platforms as well as a limited edition 7” vinyl backed with Shatner’s version of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity featuring Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore & Candice Night! New Book “Pink Floyd – The Animals Tour – A Visual History” By Glenn Povey Now Available For Pre-order!

Pink Floyd’s 10th studio album “Animals” was released almost 10 years on from their psychedelic debut that launched the band on to the world stage. But this release couldn’t be farther from “The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn” if you tried: It was a hard-hitting politically charged heavy rock album. Its three central pieces, “Pigs (Three Different Ones)”, “Dogs” and “Sheep” each extending to over 10 minutes each drew parallels with George Orwell’s dystopian nightmare “Animal Farm”. Its lyrics continued to project Roger Waters’ eternal themes of life’s struggles where the subservient masses are sheep controlled by tyrannical pigs and authoritarian dogs.

Recorded over the summer of 1976, in the space of time it took punk to both explode and promptly fizzle out, at their own Britannia Row studios in north London, it also marked a shift from their traditional base of EMI at Abbey Road. Arguably one of Pink Floyd’s least well recorded works it does however hold a fond place in many fans hearts and Animals has enjoyed a legacy – Roger Waters in particular reviving those tracks to shoehorn into his own politically charged live solo shows in recent years.

The corresponding tour through the first half of 1977 was also not without compromise and built on the stadium spectacular that had been successfully developed over the previous two years of touring. Creatively, there was no limit to their ambition as large-scale inflatable structures, screen films, special effects and state of the art sound reinforcement were utilized that enveloped the audience in an ever-increasing immersive experience. But, despite all this, as their fan base increased exponentially so too did the rowdy nature of the stadium environment which, coupled with band members personal issues, ultimately led to inter-band rifts and Roger Waters’ increasing intolerance of and disdain towards the adulation of the fans.

This all finally came to a spectacular head during their final show of the “Animals” tour in Montreal in July and the events that unfolded became the lynchpin of Waters’ vision of isolation and madness that eventually led to the creation of “The Wall” two years later.

Speaking about the new release, mntgmry shares, “Fire Bird is a song of protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is hard not to feel completely powerless when faced with images of such unnecessary violence and loss of human life. But as an artist I feel one way that I can contribute to this terrible conflict is to help empower Ukrainians fighting for their country.

This song was created to boost the morale of Ukrainian soldiers and citizens fighting against this heartless and cowardly invasion. It contains some controversial language and themes, but a person’s right to safety and autonomy is unquestionable, and it is always ok to defend oneself.”

Prominently based around a pop arrangement, ‘Fire Bird’ is an exceptional ear-worm that the world needs to hear. Evol Walks reveal dynamic anthem 'Drag Me Down'

With a healthy chunk of attitude, a dynamite lead singer, and a predilection for time-honoured rock ‘n’ roll, Evol Walks has rapidly emerged as an energetic and enigmatic act to follow.Originally formed in Los Angeles, California in 2014 by flame haired, Australian-born Leah Martin-Brown, Evol Walks have moved from strength to strength, earning plaudits from Artists and Fans around the world, played across three Continents and shared the stages and lineups with the likes of Johnny Depp, Nita Strauss, The Killers, Everclear, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nancy Wilson, Black Label Society, Within Temptation and many more.

You know that this person is bad for you and everything will end in misery but you want to be pulled down with them. You want to surrender. To me it can represent any kind of dependent relationship- whether it is a human being or a chemical. Both can be equally dangerous and both have the capability to destroy.”

The show is in support of his latest live album ‘The Royal Affair and After’ released in January this year to critical acclaim. The album was recorded live in Las Vegas on ‘The Royal Affair Tour’, in the Summer of 2019.

John’s mission statement is, after all, “I want to keep all the Moody Blues music alive!”
