Con Funk Shun Percussionist D. Edward To Release New Single and Video “Hold On”

Oakland, CA – Following the release of his critically acclaimed new single “Show Me”, Con Funk Shun percussionist D. Edward is releasing a new single and video titled “Hold On”! The song is taken from his 'Love Is' album which was released worldwide on October 21st, 2014. Two years in the making, the album features catchy hooks and grooves with a familiar, yet unique and modern pop and retro soul sound. D. Edward has the ability to sound different on every song yet maintain his own signature style throughout.

Says D. Edward, “ 'Hold On' is a a retro soul inspired love song with big horns and heartfelt vocals. I originally wrote it as a singer/songwriter, piano and vocal song titled 'Just You and Me' but I wasn't satisfied with the 'hook', so I continued to work on it until I came up with 'Hold On'. At that point, I got the inspiration to rework the song into what it is now. It was the song that set the pace for the overall style of 'Love Is' the album. It’s one of my favorite songs on the album and I’m happy we are releasing it as a single to radio along with an epic video.”

D. Edward is also on the Board of the Keep Music Rockin' Foundation, which helps to raise funds and offers educational clinics to the music student/programs of the San Leandro Unified School District.

Here's what's being said about D. Edward:

“Your tone is like a combination of Lionel Richie, Huey Lewis, Ray Parker Jr. & Darius Rucker. Nice sound!” - Larry Batiste, Grammy Board of Trustee and Grammy Show Orchestra Conductor

“A small, handful of singers have such distinctive character to their voices, that list would include Darryl Hall, Robbie Robertson, Darius Rucker and perhaps more current, Ray LaMontagne… soulful, rugged and sexy!” - Sandy Shore, CEO SmoothJazz.com

“The vocals are a delight, and when all the pieces come together, as they do on ‘Hold On’ and ‘I Love The Way’, you just have to sit back and admire the handiwork… this is a winner from top to bottom” - Rocker UK Review

Sharon Hendrix, Talented Back-Up Singer for Bob Dylan, Elton John, Tom Jones, Barry Manilow, Grace Slick & Starship, Olivia Newton-John and Others, Steps to Center Stage with Her Solo Debut

Sharon Hendrix has performed in over 8,000 shows and it’s only the beginning!

Los Angeles - After years of working just 20 feet from stardom Sharon “Muffy” Hendrix is stepping into the spotlight. Throughout her successful career Sharon has been singing backup on recording sessions and performing on stages across the world with top names including Bob Dylan, Elton John, Tom Jones, Grace Slick & Starship, Olivia Newton-John, George Duke, Dusty Springfield, Freddie Hubbard, Natalie Cole, Harry Chapin, Jermaine Stewart, Mac Davis, Billy Cobham, Michael White, Shirley Bassey and so many other notable musical talents.

Sharon Hendrix began her career as "Muffy" Hendrix singing in the church and school choirs and by the time she reached her teens she became part of The Young Americans, an international touring company of 30 singers from all across the country. Over the next two years Sharon toured the Far East twice, performed on the Ed Sullivan Show and the Kraft Music Hall and worked on various TV specials and commercials. Sharon earned a music scholarship to Chapman University and received her show business education on Las Vegas stages at the side of superstar entertainers including Debbie Reynolds and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Sharon formed a lifetime friendship and working relationship with Barry Manilow from the moment the beloved superstar called her to replace one of the singers in his back-up band. In 1985 Sharon recorded the popular, "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" duet with Barry that appeared on his "Manilow" album as well as the Billboard charts. Currently Sharon is performing with Manilow on his worldwide "One Last Time!" farewell tour which brings us to now!

Sharon's completing her solo debut album which will be available in the fall from Voss Records and has just released the title track, “Nowhere Fast” as the lead single. Sharon co-wrote the song with her producer, Dan Voss Jr. and trumpet virtuoso Steve Madaio. Sharon’s smooth vocal style sits over a contemporary urban Latin beat spiced with exciting percussion, a classic horn solo and an infectious rap by William “June Bug” Lee.

Between breaks in the Manilow tour the industrious Ms. Hendrix is finishing the new album as well as planning her solo career launch. Sharon’s been tirelessly rehearsing with her band working out arrangements on old and new tunes. When the tour ends this summer the Sharon Hendrix Nowhere Fast show will hit the road running and Sharon will be front and center exactly where she’s always been destined to be.

When she’s not on the road Sharon lives in southern California and is the proud mother of three lovely daughters.

NYC Classic Rock 'n' Soul Band Rickity Featuring Members of The Lizards, Cactus & Vanilla Fudge Release Debut Album 'Greatest Hits'

NYC – Highly anticipated debut album by “super group” Rickity, a New York City, classic rock 'n' soul band performing great original songs, is now available! Featuring bassist/harpist Randy Pratt, best known for his work with The Lizards, Cactus and Vanilla Fudge, the new album titled 'Greatest Hits' has been released on Hyperspace records. The band members have played, toured the world and recorded with Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, The Funky Knights, Seven Turns and The Lizards. In Rickity they have found their ultimate vehicle of expression. The seasoned rockers have added highly respected R&B vocalist Perrita Kitson and the combination is thrilling. Lead guitarist Jesse Berlin has the chops, soul and imagination to be at the top of the heavy rock universe. His solos are jaw dropping adventures.

Says Randy Pratt, “Our goal is to combine R&B, soul and blues with classic heavy riff rock. Perrita is the real deal. She spent her whole career in R&B, Soul and Jazz..this is her FIRST rock band!”

Perrita adds, “Rickity’s Recipe is take some hard core classic rock, add some funk, and divvy up some really colorful lyrical lines and you have ….. RICKITY. I hope the Rickity band will be appreciated and admired in representing classic rock.. all the way baby!”

The combination of heavy, classic riff rock, world class R&B, catchy hooks and a fearlessly sexy stance makes Rickity special. A Rickity concert has the feel of a “greatest hits” show...every song memorable. Perrita and percussionist/sampler Paul Gifford share lead vocals and do strong harmonies, insuring there is never a dull moment.

Says Randy, “The band formed in my basement, as usual...lol! Our new guitarist, Jesse Berlin, did his first gig with us on his 21st birthday! He's spectacular! The two Pauls and I (Paul Latimer on guitar and keys, Paul Gifford on vocals, percussion and samples) have played together for decades. We can read each other's minds and complete each other's sentences. Neil Cicione is the engine of the band...a total badass on the drums.”

Rickity has shared stages with the likes of The Doobie Brothers, Billy Squier, Rare Earth and headlining as their star continues to rise. The band will be performing at B.B. King's Blues Club in NYC on June 17, 2014, and the Sellersville Theater in Sellersville, PA opening for Black Oak Arkansas on July 3, 2014!

Watch Rickity live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWndhuP2Zbw

Says Randy, “We can duplicate everything you hear on our CD live. We have two great singers and we're tight as hell! We are a no B.S., muscular, classic rock band...accent on the HEAVY. We broke some rules with our combining of styles, but it feels natural and intense. Our songs are mostly about sex, so I guess our message is...ENJOY!”

Audio Fidelity To Release Barry White 'Can't Get Enough' Limited Numbered Edition 180g Vinyl On February 18, 2014

“...slinky, funky and seductive... A unique and timeless piece of artistry.”

Camarillo, CA – Much to the excitement of Barry White fans worldwide, Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity is releasing a limited numbered edition 180g vinyl LP of soul legend Barry White's critically acclaimed 1974 masterpiece 'Can't Get Enough' on February 18, 2014! 'Can't Get Enough' made Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time! This is the first time Barry White's music has been given the audiophile treatment! It's also the first time the lyrics to all the vocals on the record are included, listed on the inside of the attractive glossy coated gatefold jacket.

By the time he hit his stride in 1974 with 'Can't Get Enough', Barry White had firmly established his vocal persona on the contemporary music scene. This is the third in his stellar run of album successes. The album topped the Billboard 200 and R&B charts and peaked at #4 in the UK.

Barry White's allure lay in his ability to craft beautiful love songs and embellish them with luxurious strings, a great rhythm section, and a gospel-styled female chorus. The combination is never more evident than on the classic title track as well as the song “You're My First, My Last, My Everything”, an anthem that appealed to White's pop audience. Both of these uptempo #1 chart-topping tracks were early echoes of the danceable, orchestrated funk stylings that became the sound of the disco era.

In addition to the hits, “I Can't Believe You Love Me” and “Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It” qualify as two of White's most fetching slow burners. The album is bordered by “Mellow Mood (Pts. 1 & 2)”, two brief orchestral instrumentals that showcase White's knack for layered arrangements.

TRACKS:

Side One
1. Mellow Mood (Pt. I)
2. You're the First, the Last, My Everything
3. I Can't Believe You Love Me

Side Two
1. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe
2. Oh Love, Well We Finally Made It
3. I Love You More Than Anything (In This World Girl)
4. Mellow Mood (Pt. II)
Producer Barry White
Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio
