About Wally Waller: Wally Waller, born Alan Edward Waller in Barnehurst, grew up in Bexley, Kent. He began his music career in the early 1960s with Bern Elliott and the Fenmen before joining The Pretty Things in 1967. Waller played bass and wrote songs alongside lead singer Phil May, contributing to albums such as “Emotions,” “S.F. Sorrow,” and “Parachute.” In 1971, he left the band to work as a producer for EMI, collaborating with artists like Barclay James Harvest and Marcus Hook Roll Band. Waller later rejoined The Pretty Things on multiple occasions, contributing to the band’s legacy.

Warr Guitarist Jason Blake To Release New Instrumental Progressive Rock Album “Subsequent Ruins” Featuring Marco Minnemann

Jason Blake has been establishing himself over the past few years as “one of the most distinguished technicians on the Warr.” The Warr guitar is a unique twelve-string instrument incorporating the range of a guitar and bass that is played by tapping the strings, a technique known as touchstyle.

Primarily known for his work with the progressive metal instrumental band, Aziola Cry (Sensory Records), Jason Blake has begun to build an impressive resume as a solo artist. For this work, Blake has pushed the boundaries of the instrument while incorporating elements of progressive rock, ambient, and classical. Having released a varied series of instrumental albums under his name, Blake returns with his most ambitious album yet.

“Subsequent Ruins” is the title of Jason Blake’s upcoming instrumental progressive rock album featuring the Warr guitar as the sole melodic instrument along with Marco Minnemann on drums. The songs work as a modern retelling of Rattenfänger von Hameln (The Pied Piper), whereas screens play the title role. The six song album was mixed in Chicago at Gravel Road Recording by Amery Schmeisser and mastered by Andy VanDette (Rush, Porcupine Tree). Hajo Mueller (Steven Wilson, Mariusz Duda) completed the thought provoking artwork for the release.

Says Jason, “As I began writing music for this album, I kept thinking about how phones and other screens have become so addictive and controlling of young minds today. This led me to the idea of creating a soundtrack for a modern retelling of Rattenfänger von Hameln (The Pied Piper). I saw screens as the lead character in the story as they symbolically lead children blindly off of a cliff. I also worked with frequent collaborator, Hajo Mueller to create an elaborate CD package that acts as a lost artbook of one of these children. Once I had the idea for the album in place, I began writing music that I felt worked to tell this story. I typically begin with song titles to help guide the direction that I want to take. I knew that I wanted some longer songs as the center pieces for the album along with some shorter solo Warr guitar pieces that worked almost as interludes. Going into the writing process, I wanted to create music that on the record would sound big with the use of overdubs, but also could be performed solo for quieter settings. Once the music was written, I knew that I wanted a drummer that could take the music to the next level and so I reached out to Marco Minnemann who supplied the perfect accompaniment. The music was then recorded on and off over the summer of 2022.”

In support of his new release, Jason plans to release at least one video for this album that is almost complete. He is currently working on bringing this material out live in the louder settings and will continue to perform solo shows that will include some of this material. He is also very excited to be a part of the 7D Media family and look forward to working with them on this release.

In closing Jason has this to say, “I hope that people join me on this solo progressive rock journey that I am about to begin. While I feel like the music has some similarities to my band, Aziola Cry, it is different in that this is all Warr guitar. I think that as a result, it takes a unique approach to the music. Speaking of Aziola Cry, I have just completed writing the next album for that band and hope to have new music by the end of the year.”

Roots Rock Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist Griff Peters To Release Debut Solo Album Canyons and Waves Feb 10, 2023

Nature has always been spiritually grounding for singer-songwriter and guitarist Griff Peters. A few years ago, when the San Diego, California-based roots rock artist was mired in a heart-wrenching personal struggle, he went out to the beach and sat down on a rock formation. There, Griff asked himself this question: if he was told he had a year to live, what would he do?

The answer was simple—make his solo debut, Canyons and Waves (Impropriety Records), a deep and sincere body of work crafted by a skilled and experienced artist with a worthy message of hope within darkness. That very rock formation graces the cover of the album, and from that fateful day on, Griff’s life has been powerfully transformed. Griff is a musician’s musician who as a sideman guitarist has performed, recorded and toured internationally with artists such as John Mayer, Billie Myers, Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats, Dethklok), Nina Storey, and the Mike Keneally Band (Frank Zappa, Andy Partridge, Steve Vai). Born into a musical family in Southern California, Griff started playing piano when he was very young. He quickly infuriated his piano teacher by neglecting beginner’s classical studies in favor of learning intricate ragtime and boogie-woogie songs by ear.

After discovering his grandfather’s old electric guitar at age 14, Griff discovered his passion and innate abilities to play Chicago electric blues and more modern blues rock. By his senior year in high school, he was sneaking out early to study music at the local college. Soon, Griff was a teen professional musician with a full schedule. He attended college classes in the morning; gave guitar lessons in the evening; and gigged in smoky bars late at night. Eventually, he graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music.

Griff would go on to have an impressive career in music, but the need to create his own solo album was always present. “I finally dispensed with all the excuses, purged my calendar and focused my mind towards creating a serious artistic statement. Immediately, musical ideas just flooded in,” Griff reveals. Canyons and Waves is the result of this all-consuming outpouring of songs. “The songwriting and recording stage was a prolific period of happy insanity. I wrote, recorded and produced all the music at my own facility, Hilltop Frog Studios in California. From the very beginning, I envisioned the Canyons and Waves album as a vinyl release. Shake together a prog song, Buster Keaton, Charles Chaplin, Bruñel and Jodorowisky and enjoy the ride... Marcelo Paganini plays the sinner. His lovely neighbor Toni plays God. The one-eyed cat next door is the Heaven’s Gate guardian and the frog from the garden also joined in. No animal was harmed, touched, or even told what to do to make this 7:30 minutes short film, which took almost two years to complete. On the recording Billy Sherwood sings and plays bass, Lenny White plays drums, Adam Holzman plays keys, Rachel Flowers sings and plays the first guitar solo, and Marcelo Paganini plays the guitar.

Guitar Virtuoso Mike Campese Releases 11th Album “Reset”

It was 2020 during a global pandemic and Mike Campese was locked in his studio, composing and recording over 21 songs. As the world and his life were simultaneously resetting, Mike crafted 12 new songs and the album, “Reset,” was born.  

The 11th solo album by virtuoso guitarist/composer, Mike Campese, is 58 minutes long, consists of 12 songs featuring 6 instrumental and 6 vocal tracks. The album also features amazing drumming by drummer Patrick Johansson.

The album kicks off with a driving, classical rock composition, “Fire,” then straight into the heavy, rhythmic track, “Bee Eater,” followed by haunting melodies in “Tension in Motion” and a never-before dance track, “Dance.”

Like all of Mike’s albums, there is something for everyone. The title track, “Reset,” is a bluesy offering while "Waisted Time" follows the ever-popular ballad theme. Mike revisits his youth of wanting an elephant in his backyard with the rock-driven, slide tune, “Elephants in the Backyard.” Mike’s love for funk is expressed in “Talker” and “Let it Ride,” proving that Mike can lay down a groove and make it his own. Lastly, “Space Dragon,” inspired by the space mission to Mars was created and will give you the feeling of being in space.

Says Mike, “Most of this album was recorded during the pandemic and some of it was done before. I ended up writing and recording 23 songs. I had more time to focus on writing and recording. Normally, If I’m not traveling, I would record a song or two and then head out on the road and then come back to recording after I returned home. It took a bit longer that way. Having the extra time to focus on the recordings was great and I can take my time. There are some reasons why I called the album, ‘Reset.’ One of them is because the world is resetting after and during the pandemic, which the planet can fix itself over time after a disaster. The issue can be the people on the planet are destroying it with pollution, overconsumption and more. Also, as the world is resetting there are some new beginnings in my life that I have been exploring. I think it is important for a musician to always improve themselves in life and music.”

Mike Campese is known as a guitar virtuoso, he is an all-around music performer, session artist competent in many musical styles, electric and acoustic. He is best known for being a member of the multi-platinum group, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra and received a gold record for his work. Mike has been featured in many national guitar magazines such as Guitar Player, Guitar World, Guitar One, Axe Magazine and Guitar Club in Italy. Peter Hesslein is an original founding member of the band Lucifer’s Friend and an accomplished guitarist. His first Night Drive album was meant to be a one-off, but its success prompted a sequel in Night Drive 2 and now the further demand, from fans, has led to a Night Drive 3.

Bryan Ferry Guitarist Quist To Release New Atmospheric Album “Breathing Space” November 18, 2022

Quist is a Danish guitarist & artist based in Los Angeles. He has already toured the world many times as a guitarist, most recently being featured as lead guitarist with UK art rock legend Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music), who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. He was featured on Bryan Ferry's album “Avonmore” (2014), alongside Nile Rodgers, Mark Knopfler, Johnny Marr, Flea and Marcus Miller – subsequently touring the world for several years in various incarnations of Ferry’s band.

Quist’s forthcoming solo album “Breathing Space” was recorded in 2022, in his studio in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. It’s a chill, dreamlike sonic universe - with lush keyboards, melodic, bluesy guitar licks and atmospheric field recordings. The album drifts through calming atmospheres of dreamy sounds with layers of meditative drums.

The album’s title and concept was born out of the Pandemic/lockdown life we all lived through and was inspired by this quote from French philosopher Albert Camus: “To understand one's world, one must sometimes turn away from it! To serve better, one must briefly hold it at a distance. Where can the necessary solitude be found, the long breathing space in which mind gathers its strength and takes stock of its courage.”

The music was essentially created both to provide comfort and joy at the time of its making, but also especially to (hopefully) bring a sense of calm and joy to listeners.

Virtuoso Guitarist Vinnie Moore To Release New Album “Double Exposure” With Guest Vocalists

NYC - The follow up to Vinnie’s 2019 “SOUL SHIFTER” will be released on November 8th on his Mind’s Eye Music label. Vinnie is joined by singers Ed Terry (Rage And Beyond, American Mafia), Keith Slack (MSG, Mother Road), Mike DiMeo (Riot) and Brian Stephenson (Old James) on this half vocal half instrumental album. This is his first solo release that features vocals. Band members include Richie Monica (Billy Cox, Papa Chubby, Tantric) on drums, Michael Bean and Pete Griffin (Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa) on Bass, John Cassidy on Keyboards, and John Pessoni on Drums.

Vinnie has released ten solo albums and six albums and a LIVE DVD with rock icons UFO, and is considered to be one of the originators of shred guitar. He’s made many guest appearances with others and played and wrote the soundtrack for a classic PEPSI TV commercial. “This project started during the period when we were all grounded from touring. I had some song ideas and originally thought I’d do an instrumental EP with 5 or 6 songs. Before recording, I always do listening sessions with my demos to get production ideas. While playing “One Day”, I started hearing vocals in my head and naturally started singing along and it hit me that this would make a good vocal song. As I listened through the rest of the tunes, one by one I realized that they all could be vocal songs. It was a light bulb moment where I realized, ‘hey dummy, here’s the vocal thing you’ve been wanting to do’. So the idea to take a group of songs and create dual versions of each was born.

To set this all in motion, the next step was lining up singers. I knew right away that I wanted to collaborate with a few different vocalists I have known or worked with over the years. Keith Slack and Mike DiMeo quickly came to mind. I have known Keith for more than 20 years and we have always talked about working together. Mike has toured with me in the past as vocalist and keyboardist, so he was an obvious choice. Brian Stephenson opened for me on a tour in 2016 with his band Old James, I liked his voice and lyrics and knew he would be a good guy to collaborate with. Ed Terry and I were on a track together a couple years back. I really dug his voice and ideas and knew I wanted to work with him.

The only good thing about the world being shut down for months is that it gave me the time I needed to put this thing all together. It was a big undertaking. In between recording guitars, I would shift gears and go into phases where I sang and sketched out lyrics. It took some thought to decide which singer I wanted to be on which song. After that, I sent out the recordings with and without vocals and told everyone to be creative whether that meant totally following their own inspiration or using any of my ideas. In the end both things happened.”

Vinnie recently completed a European solo tour in May and a festival run with UFO during the summer.

Los Angeles, CA – On Dallas Perkins’ latest release “Experimental Truth” his stellar technical proficiency and dexterity are on full display. We are now hearing six-string wisdom come to full fruition. Showcasing a guitarist that is clearly steeped in melody, the music allows us to join the conversation with breathing room, suspense, and brilliantly placed pauses in these layered compositions. Perkins is not just a guitarist with attention grabbing technique, he is a composer reflecting influences spanning centuries of music history absorbed and personalized over decades finally distilled into a singular artistic statement.

Dallas said of “Experimental Truth”: “With this album, I really wanted to grab the listener’s attention with harmonic complexity and melodic simplicity. Hailing from Pittsburgh, Dallas cites his original six-string inspirations as Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Howe and Ritchie Blackmore, among other heavyweights from the era. After paying his dues in clubs and festivals, lending his chops to various cover bands and original acts, he headed West.

In Los Angeles, Dallas became a respected member of the emerging wave of technically proficient players as well as an in-demand instructor at famed Hollywood music school Musician’s Institute and National Guitar Summer Workshop.

Taking on a few hired gun gigs, he eventually found himself relocated to the Tampa Bay area of Florida. During that time, he began releasing a series of critically acclaimed instrumental material. His debut release, “Looking Glass,” was hailed by critics in both Guitar World and Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazines. He was quickly recruited into Virgin recording artists Roxx Gang, both in the studio and on the road.

Dallas’ style has continued to evolve and broaden since the release of his self-produced, acclaimed solo CDs, including the breakout smash “Emergent Behavior” and the follow up “Unbecoming.”

Bass Virtuosos Alberto Rigoni and Michael Manring To Release New Album “Grains of Sand” on Sept. 15, 2022

Bass virtuosos Alberto Rigoni (solo, BAD As, Kim Bingham, Vivaldi Metal Project etc.) and Michael Manring (solo, Alex Skolnic, Steve Morse etc,) are glad to announce the release of their new album “Grains of Sand” on September 15th.

The album, fully instrumental, spans from prog to fusion, jazz, ambient and features Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, A-Z) on drums. Also, on some tracks the duo invited some bassists as special guests such as Billy Sheehan, Stuart Hamm, Adam Nitti and more.

Alberto Rigoni says: “After the release of ‘Song for Souls’ in memory of my father I said I was going to retire (at least for a bit) but well… I could not resist making an album with one of the best bass players in the world like Michael. Hope you will enjoy it!”

Michael Manring says: “Alberto is a prolific artist with a deep love of the bass. His enthusiasm is inspiring and it’s always a pleasure to work with him.”

Blues Rock Guitar Legend PAT TRAVERS Gets Set For New Album Release, Shares New Single “RONNIE” In Tribute To His Friend RONNIE MONTROSE!

Los Angeles, CA – Pat Travers, the blues rock icon and guitar-slingin' wizard is set to return to center stage with a masterful new studio album to be released worldwide on August 19. The Art Of Time Travel is a solid testament to the magic of Travers’ unique brand of classic blues rock, which has that supernatural ability to transport listeners into the not-too-distant past when rock was king and guitars dominated the airwaves – all while still sounding as fresh and relevant as ever.

Indeed, The Art Of Time Travel harkens back to the muscular playing of Travers’ late ‘70s heyday, when the artist was topping the charts with smokin’ hot albums such as Crash and Burn and the live Go For What You Know album, yet still tackles current topics such as the COVID quarantine (“Breaking Up In Lockdown”). One of the standout songs is Travers’ emotional and cathartic tribute to his friend and mentor, the late Ronnie Montrose. Travers had this to say about his relationship with Ronnie: “I was hugely influenced by Ronnie Montrose as a guitar player and band leader. I first saw him playing guitar for Edgar Winter. I just loved his attitude as the lead guitar player. He always had this intense look in his eyes like he was ready to bust out a smoking guitar riff at any second. He became a good friend and it was always a blast to talk with him on the phone. I mentioned to him once about his intense gaze when I had seen him live and he told me that his brothers called him ‘Captain Hi-beams’ when they were kids. I thought that was funny. Ronnie was a very, very nice guy and I miss him.”

New York, NY – MARK DUDA is a New York City-based artist and storyteller who sings, plays guitar, and writes great rock and roll songs. MARK DUDA shines on his debut full-length album BODEGA FLOWERS, which journalist and musician Phil Mitchum praises as a “transformative album from a generational songwriter.” Set for release July 29, 2022, BODEGA FLOWERS is an emotional journey packed with characters, experiences, and swagger straight from Manhattan’s lower east side. MARK DUDA seamlessly blends all of the NY flavors he’s soaked up over the years, from Dion to Lou Reed, The NY Dolls, the Dead Boys, and beyond, bringing his own signature update to the New York rock and roll sound and continuing to forge the musical identity he first introduced with his Month of Sundays EP from 2017.

A singer/songwriter above all else, MARK DUDA is influenced by Dion, Buddy Holly, Lou Reed, David Bowie, and Willie Nile. These influences are effortlessly delivered through the glam rock lens he grew up with, and shine through on BODEGA FLOWERS. Just as Jesse Malin emerged from the glam punk of D Generation to carve out his niche as an important voice for New York singer-songwriters, MARK DUDA is now bringing his own unique voice to the scene. Over his storied career, MARK DUDA has collaborated with rock and roll royalty from New York and beyond. Recent collaborations include legendary guitarists Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), Jake Cinninger (Umphrey’s McGee), Pat Travers, and Steve Hackett (Genesis). Mark has also recorded with bassist Kenny Aaronson (Billy Idol, Joan Jett), bassist Kasim Sulton (Todd Rundgren, Joan Jett), drummers Bobby Rondinelli (Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult) and Thommy Price (Joan Jett, Billy Idol), and saxophone legend Arno Hecht (Dion, Rolling Stones).

BODEGA FLOWERS was executive produced by MARK DUDA and produced by Jimi K. Bones (Blondie, Joan Jett, Jonas Brothers, Willie Nile.) Jimi’s crisp production and arrangements perfectly showcase Mark Duda at his finest. Two-time Grammy nominee Kostadin Kamcev served as both recording and mastering engineer for BODEGA FLOWERS, while also contributing keys. BODEGA FLOWERS proudly features the legendary rhythm section of Kasim Sulton (bass) and Thommy Price (drums), collaborating here for the first time in 30 years! Jimi K. Bones further energizes the record with his guitar playing and background vocals. Arno Hecht (Dion, Rolling Stones) returns to play saxophone on several songs, and Johnny Pisano (Willie Nile) sings backing vocals throughout the record. Cynthia Longley Richards, who was featured on Month of Sundays, returns to the band to play cello on several songs, and Joan Chew (Lez Zeppelin) contributes keys.

Before recording 2017’s Month of Sundays, MARK DUDA gained wide recognition as the front man for New York hard rockers The Handful. The Handful have released four full-length albums since 2004, including Sons of Downtown in 2015, which was Mark’s first collaboration with Cheetah Chrome, and also features Mark in a duet with Cherie Currie of Runaways fame. Other releases with The Handful include Second Hand Smoke, Palmistry, and Wooden Indian on which Mark wrote, sang, and played guitar. Mark is also the lead vocalist for Rome, Italy-based band Mad City Rockers, who released the album Black Celebration in 2009, and handles guitar and vocals for contemporary heavy rockers August Fire. Mark continues to write and record for himself and with other groups.
