Track Feature: Sarah Borges-Caught By The Rain

Sarah Borges has got soul from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. Leaving her band and taking her music to the masses by herself was a big move.

Listening to the new single "Caught By The Rain" is proof that her talent is strong enough to stand on its own. She may have been in an "in the rain" state of mind before taking such a risk but after listening to the new single I think there is no chance that there is a storm brewing at all. All the clouds have parted and the sun is shining on this exciting talent.

"Caught By The Rain" is bluesy and from the gut. Sarah's singing has just the right edge to it and the guitar playing is smokin' hot!

Give this track your time and you will not be sorry, you will want more!

"Caught By The Rain” is available NOW for download on iTunes: smarturl.it/ke4ujt

Change is something that takes a little getting used to. If you need proof of this, ask the soulful Sarah Borges. After a long and successful stint with her band, The Broken Singles, 2011 marked the band’s breakup – and Sarah embarking on a solo career. She admits it took some time to adjust. “One of the things I didn’t expect is when you’re on stage and you’re doing a show, there’s certain things you have to do. You have to tune your guitar. You have to take a sip of your drink. It’s just inevitable. I guess I had my band mates fill in that space – whether it be telling jokes or on-stage banter. You can’t have that when it’s just you. That’s a change. You have to be ok with it being quiet for a second. Also, you play out with your bandmates so much – especially when you’ve been together for a long time, and you operate as a unit. You have to dig deep and think about how you’re going to make the show exciting by yourself instead of relying on others.”

However, “digging deep” has never been a problem for the Massachusetts native. Whether it be through performances or her writing, Borges has learned to dazzle – and do it well. That ability can be heard all over her 2014 Radio Sweetheart disc, as well as her upcoming follow-up, Good and Dirty, due in early 2016. She attributes that ability to a very eclectic sound, which she comes by naturally, she says.

“I would say that my sound is straight up rock and roll, but it’s the sum total of what my record collection looks like. The new record that I am working on is certainly more Americana than the last record was. It’s also more rock than the last record. I would say that it’s a version of the live shows – a lot of loud guitars and loud singing. You can certainly dance to it.”

Americana Music Legend Tokyo Rosenthal Releases "Afterlife"

Chapel Hill, NC - Rock & Sock Records announced today that their recording artist, Tokyo Rosenthal, will be releasing his sixth studio album on their label on August 1, 2015. The new album is entitled "Afterlife". It's Rosenthal's first release in over two years and the disc contains 10 original compositions as well a new video for the single, "The Cold War".

The new tunes cover subjects as diverse as the Deep South, child loss, illness, burials, war options, and two of Toke's favorite performing venues. Joining Tokyo on this record are some of his regulars as well as some new contributors. Chris Stamey once again performs on bass as well as engineering the record and assisting in the production.  Andrea Connolly returns to help on vocals. David DiGiuseppe takes a larger role in this Tex Mex leaning album with his great accordion playing. "Toke" of course plays both lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and harmonica. He authored all songs as well as handling lead vocals on each track.

The new collaborators bring some diversity and new sounds not heard before on a Tokyo Rosenthal project. Recent Rosenthal tour partner, Jick Wins-Low, handles the drum chores as well as mandolin. Dobro makes it's Tokyo Rosenthal debut with the stellar picking and sliding of Dan Mahoney. Tom Ed White brings his viola to the party and Juanito Laguna lends his Mexican heritage to the album with his Charango. Rounding out the eclectic sound of "Afterlife" is Emily J. Farmer on French Horn.

"It was great to have the opportunity to record with such a variety of great players," said Rosenthal. "It allowed me to take chances and put out a very different sounding album. I missed being in the studio and after many months I'm quite pleased with the results. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the great job by Brian West who produced the video for "The Cold War". It really captured what I was trying to say on that track." The video of "The Cold War" can be seen here. The brilliant album design was made possible thanks to the  beautiful cover picture by Carrie Klein and on the back by Mike Green.

The album will be supported both by Domestic and Foreign touring. Most notable is an upcoming 3 week tour of Ireland, Scotland, and England in October. The album will be available through most sources including iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, and Spotify.

Concert Review: BoDeans

BoDeans Visit Pittsfield and Entertain At The Colonial Theater
April 16, 2015

http://bodeans.com

Roots rockers BoDeans arrived in the Berkshires last night and played a non-stop rousing set of numbers for the pleased audience at the Colonial Theater.

Band members are Stockbridge native Kenny Aronoff (drums), Sam Hawksley (backing vocals/acoustic and electric guitar), Eric Holden (bass), who is another Berkshires native, Stefano Intelisano (keyboard/accordion), Eamon McLoughlin (fiddle, lap steel, mandolin, acoustic guitar) and Kurt Neumann (lead vocals/electric guitar).

The band is well-known for their performances since the 80s when they first formed and we found out why. The combination of Rock, Americana, Blues and Roots makes for what I would call a tasteful plate of appetizing rock music. They can flat out rock and then pull it back and bring forward instruments into the mix such as violin, mandolin, and the accordion.

This is the kind of band that is appreciated by folks that sincerely appreciate good musicianship and a wide variety of genres all mixed together. It is eclectic and wonderful to hear and the BoDeans  know exactly how to present it all in one nice package.

With Aronoff’s  return as their drummer his family was in the audience, including his dead ringer twin brother, who we first thought was the musician sibling walking around shaking everyone’s hand. I knew Aronoff was one of the greatest drummers in the world and I could not stop watching him perform. He is a perpetual motion machine and does amazing things with an average size drum kit, which is a credit to his expertise and all around talent.

Previous to the concert I purchased a  BoDeans two CD live release from 2008 titled Homebrewed: Live From The Pabst. I would highly recommend grabbing a copy of this release as it served as the perfect introduction to their shows and set a high level of anticipation for me. I must add I was not disappointed in fact I was quite impressed how much talent at every position this band has.

The only drawback I could recognize all evening was that the organ was buried in the mix, very seldom could you hear it come to the front. I am not sure why this was but it certainly did not hurt their presentation that is for sure. For all I know it was the way they intended to present their music.

What I found most impressive was their energy, they never stopped to take a short break then resume like most sets do. There was no opening act, which was fine with me. At times they would segue from one song to another but it gave us a moment to applaud in appreciation of the previous number. The audience was most appreciative for every song they performed and sang along to a few. Kurt Neumann is a fine front man that is relaxed and in control. His vocal style fits the music with perfection.

Highlights of the night were “Get Much,”  “Fadeaway,” “Amercian,” and “Good Work.” Each of these performances showed a tight band enjoying what they were doing and that translated in each song to the audience with an impact.

The set list was full and broad based and any music fan could appreciate how this band can jam. Their professionalism and abilities are on a very high level and I would see them again in a minute. This band called BoDeans is an American treasure and if you have not discovered their music yet I suggest you do, only then will you realize the enjoyment you have been missing, just as I did last night.

Instrumental Americana/Blues Review: Eric Tingstad-Mississippi

Release Date: 2015
Label: Indie
Eric Tingstad is a Grammy Award winning composer, producer, singer and songwriter primarily known for his finger style guitar work. Tingstad has crafted works in the Americana, Bluegrass, Alternative Country, Jazz, Blues and New Age genres. In his newest album Mississippi he indulges in all of them. This album takes a look at the cradle of music where much of the style of music Tingstad is known for originated from.

“Mississippi” is the title track to the album. It takes us on a walk alongside of one of our nation’s greatest rivers. The rambling guitar picking paired with light percussive elements blends together like water and river silt to make that muddy river flow. Jazzy at times with elements of Americana roots, this piece teems with life.

“Swamped” comes to life picking and grinning and reminds me of what it feels like to be hip deep in deadlines and hardly able to come up for air. Stop, start, and plod along all the while trying to keep your head above water with an upbeat attitude and a gallon of coffee. Textured and plucky, “Swamped” should be the song of my life and as soon as I heard it, I smiled. Bouncing, happy with the whirlwind and the myriad of theoretical plates spinning in the air, it says it all. It’s all in the hips and if you dance while life keeps going, you’ll get there.

“Chester” reminded me of a dog. Yep, a floppy eared overeager retriever bounding along at his master’s heels. Happy and alert, this piece encapsulates all that is good in the world. Guitar picking in a smooth roots rock style, Tingstad illustrates life with sound and paints a picture of happy carefree moments that should never be taken for granted. This was one of my favorite pieces on the album.

The care and precision that has gone into this album is quite evident. Mississippi is a tribute to a great river and a place in music’s history that helped to form much of music today as we know it. As a listener, I find the album also speaks to life in general. We all cry tears, feel swamped, miss a loved one and at the end of the day hopefully have a furry four legged friend to go home to. The one thing that drew it all together for me was Tingstad’s style of guitar work, stellar composition and musical imagery. Each bridge and transition was seamless and kept me wanting more. In fact, I haven’t stopped playing the album since I started. It’s good company on an afternoon when a little spring in my step is just what’s needed. I highly recommend this blues album for anyone who wants a taste of instrumental Americana at its best.

Highly-Acclaimed Songwriter Ken Will Morton To Release 7th Solo CD, All's Fair In Love & War, On June 5, 2015

Morton Plays All Instruments/Vocals On 20 New Songs!

Athens, GA - The prolific Athens, Georgia based songwriter, Ken Will Morton, will release his 7th full-length release All’s Fair In Love & War on Rara Avis Records on June 5, 2015.

All’s Fair In Love & War is the follow up to his highly acclaimed 2012 release, Slow Burn. The new recording compiles 19 new songs (plus a hidden track) written in the wake of the dissolution of a long term relationship and with Morton finding himself living alone in a mobile home. Soon after, he’d written more than enough material for a double album (hence, initial title was A Double From A Single Wide). Morton converted his home to facilitate writing and recording music at anytime day or night, with wires and cables, guitars, amps and lyric sheets everywhere. Determined to hold on to the essence of this new work, and with the help and encouragement of engineer J.P Pruett, the entire album was made in the comfort of his home. Morton played all instruments—guitars, bass, harmonica, $20 garage sale keyboard, child’s xylophone—and vocals himself, over a bed of prerecorded drum track loops from the internet, adapting each song to fit a corresponding drum track. No Pro Tools were used on this record so every take had to work all the way through. From the country rocker “Blindsided,” the power pop of “Straight From Your Lips” and the whimsical “Down The Drain” to the anthemic “Reach Forward,” this is Morton’s most diverse and confident recording to date. Heralded as a clever lyricist, Morton even takes a subject such as the Great Hartford Circus Fire of 1944 and turns it into a gem of a song and a history lesson with “Little Miss 1565.” All’s Fair In Love & War will surely resonate with fans of intelligent songwriting.

Morton consistently receives stellar press and airplay on Americana radio. His music has been praised by Relix, American Songwriter, Vintage Guitar Magazine, Performer Magazine, Georgia Music Magazine, Elmore Magazine, Maverick Magazine (UK) and more!

Morton’s music placement in film/TV includes: “Oh Lord” on “The Deadliest Catch” (Discovery Channel), “Devil In Me” on “True Blood” (HBO) and “On My Feet Again” in the indie film “Flight Of The Cardinal.”

Morton is an extremely engaging performer and has toured most parts of the U.S., opening for Todd Snider, Billy Joe Shaver, Tommy Stinson, Sugarland, & more. He has toured Ireland, performed at South-by-Southwest, the Americana Music Festival and more. He will tour regionally in support of the new release. The CD release show will be at Little King's Shuffle Club in Athens on Saturday, June 6th.

Here's a sampling of what the critics say about Ken Will Morton.

“It’s remarkable that an artist like Ken Will Morton can continue to offer one superb album after another and still fail to connect an apparently indifferent public. Remarkable and a shame. With his down-home delivery, everyman attitude and gritty, gut-wrenching tunes that tread the precipice between remorse and resolve, Morton makes music every bit as essential as Springsteen, Earle, Townes, Mellencamp and any number of other so-called heartland heroes.” - American Songwriter Magazine

“…recent records like King of Coming Around and Slow Burn may churn with hard-driving roots rock but they’re also chock full of the clever narratives and infectious hooks.” - Utne Reader

“So the question now remains when Morton’s day will come. As American Songwriter points out, Morton’s consistent quality output isn’t matched by public adoration. TV shows have picked up his tunes, but he’s not selling out venues. Slow Burn stands out among local Americana releases in recent years. The rest of the country should get with it.” - Athens Banner Herald

“Americana artist Morton remains original and interesting.” - Vintage Guitar Magazine

“In describing the music the sound Ken Will Morton's maintained over the course of his short but prolific career, the words 'austere' and 'authentic' generally tend to come to mind. Not that Morton withholds his emotions - far from it in fact - but in conveying his simple truths and homegrown observations he gets directly to the point and opts not to flounder once he gets there. Much like John Prine or Kris Kristofferson, he doesn't concern himself with unnecessary embellishment or hyperbole, and for that reason, he can sometimes seem dry and despairing. Nevertheless, his weary narratives reflect the tumult of our times and ring that much more authentically as a result.” - Blurt.com

Rockabilly Guitarist Danny B. Harvey Releases A New Album With Former Devil’s Daughter Mysti Moon!

Los Angeles, CA - Get ready to stomp along with a brand new set of recordings from veteran rockabilly guitar slinger of The Head Cat (with Lemmy & Slim Jim Phantom), 69 Cats, and The Rockats, Danny B. Harvey! The album is called Hell Cat Stomp and is an inspired collaboration between Harvey & sultry vocalist Mysti Moon, formerly of The Devil’s Daughters, to be released on Cleopatra Records October 14!

Harvey explains the origin of the project, “The songs were inspired by old timey singers from the Blues, Jazz and Country music fields. We wanted simple arrangements with great vocal and guitar performances. The original plan was that the album would be all cover versions, making sure we stayed true to the era we were honoring, but after a few songs I got inspired and had to write some original compositions.”

He goes on to share about the making of the album, “Working with Mysti has always been an amazing experience, since first meeting her when I produced the Devil’s Daughters. I’ve been floored with the depth of her vocals talents. She is one of the best artists I’ve ever worked with and being as young as she is, she has a long career in front of her.”

In sum, “This is the album I’ve always wanted to do, paying homage to my heroes from the early days of Jazz, Blues and Country music. The very beginning of modern music, long before Rock’n’Roll existed! Mysti is the perfect collaborator for me to use on this project as her voice and enthusiasm inspires me to make a great record. We sweated, sang and played our hearts out and made an album we’re both very proud of!

Blues-Rocker Guitarist/Singer AC Myles Releases 'Reconsider Me'!

“AC Myles 'Reconsider Me' promises to provide some of the most memorable moments of 2014!” - Tom Hyslop - RockMrTom

San Jose, CA – Blues-rocker guitarist/singer AC Myles' new studio recording, 'Reconsider Me', groups songs that outline his musical development and his maturing into one of the more valid guitarist and vocalists in the blues arena. Recorded & produced in San Jose, CA. by Kid Andersen at his own Greaseland Studio, the album combines originals and choice covers to tell the roadworthy story of this well traveled and very talented Californian.

“Perhaps the only soulful thing to come out of Fresno, AC Myles can play the hell out of a guitar, and he's growing as a songwriter” - San Jose Metro Editor Steve Palopoli

With 'Reconsider Me', Myles very confidently delivers a “beyond amazing” vocal range, as well as his unyielding lead and slide guitar work. The song selections vary from traditional blues to 70's blues-rock overload. With the opening track of the Jimmy Johnson inspired & Fenton Robinson penned “You Don't Know What Love Is”, as well as the amazing vocal workout of the title track, Johnny Adams “Reconsider Me”, Myles proves his traditional stylings are up to snuff both vocally and on guitar. The self-penned tracks “Three Ways to Fall’’ and the tour de force “Livin' a Lie” showcase fierce rock n roll slide guitar and vocal chops, following right in line with Rory Gallagher's “Do You Read Me” and the co-written clever southern rocker “Call 'em All Baby”.

Says Myles, “ 'Reconsider Me' is the culmination of originals with choice covers that reflect the career & growth. The covers are songs of artists that influenced me and is the first step into something uniquely AC Myles. Most I have had the fortunate to work with while sprouting musically in the SF Bay area and developed relationships with over the last 10 years.”

Myles spent his later teens and twenties touring with his own band eventually finding his way to the San Francisco Bay Area, playing sideman to a wide array of acts, most notably blues man Fillmore Slim and modern day soul man John Nemeth. Along the way, with a keen ear and sincere passion, A.C. has become a gifted entertainer and musician. His personal appearances have a 'take no prisoners' approach which; along with a healthy dose of humor, usually gets even the toughest audiences on his side.

In addition, 'Reconsider Me' features tracks by artists Myles has had the opportunity to share stages with in his career, including Elvin Bishop's “Rock my Soul”, Roman Carter's blues gem “Queen Bee”, and the Fillmore Slim funk arrangement of the Fats Domino R&B classic “Blue Monday”. The self-penned “Death Bed Blues”, which has a darker lyrical output and showcases his grasp and retention of blues traditions, while “What Is Love”, a cover of Oakland’s blues/mod/soul kings The Loved Ones, is an ode to the region of California that became adopted home territory for Myles and sprouted his musical growth and career.

Says Myles, “The album was recorded live in two days (sans a few keyboard and vocal overdubs) at Greaseland Studio headed by Kid Andersen in San Jose, CA. Very little was written 'for the album' as opposed to reaching into the vault and pulling from near dormant ideas. It was rewarding to complete them as well as some of our favorite live covers. Once the pre production demos were complete and we worked the kinks out we went in and cut the record.”

In support of 'Reconsider Me', AC Myles and his band have been touring throughout the summer with record release parties held in his home state of California in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Central California. Also added to AC's official website is some great looking and sounding video of the live band. Festivals and club dates, as well as support to other acts, for 2015 for U.S. & Europe are currently being booked. AC also has begun to write the next untitled album, which should be ready for summer 2015 as well.

Country Americana Singer/Songwriter Katie Garibaldi to Release Her Seventh CD, Recorded at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco, on July 15th, 2014

San Francisco, CA – With the release of her seventh full-length album and a brand new endorsement deal with Two Old Hippies, who worked with Breedlove Guitars to build her a new custom-made guitar, Katie Garibaldi has proven herself to be an artist with undeniable talent and lasting appeal. Based in the golden city of San Francisco, this determined and enthusiastic singer/songwriter/guitarist is an avid national touring performer who has amassed a devoted fan base, due in large part to her engaging live shows and a personal connection to her listeners through her music. Katie sings with an emotional resonance that, combined with her catchy melodic songs and her soulfully expressive vocals, captures her audience wherever she performs. While she’s been compared to household names such as Sheryl Crow, Jewel, and Taylor Swift, Katie has a charismatic musical style all her own wherein her equally pop- and country-tinged folk-rock gives her a distinct and edgy sound—Americana with sparkling and memorable melodies.

This new album, Follow Your Heart, was recorded at John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone Recording Studios in San Francisco, CA, and engineered by Ian Pellicci. The band includes Katie Garibaldi on vocals and acoustic guitar (as well as writer and producer of the entire album), Memphis-based Kevin Blair on electric and upright acoustic bass, and Bay Area local Todd Richardson on drums and percussion. Magik*Magik Orchestra also makes an appearance on the album, which features Michelle Kwon (The Delphi Trio) on cello and Philip Brezina (Brothers Comatose) on violin. Katie was fortunate to have the opportunity to co-write and arrange the string sections with Magik*Magik Orchestra artistic director, Minna Choi. Other notable players include Max Butler (pedal steel, mandolin, and ukulele), Sylvain Carton (flute, clarinets, and saxophones), Henry Hung (trumpet, trombone), Matt Blackett (electric guitar), and Shawn Shaffer (harmonica). Follow Your Heart contains 13 new tracks, which include her most personal recorded songs to date, all of which hearken back to her simple yet powerful message about the importance of having the conviction to follow your heart.

Follow Your Heart is Katie’s first full-length release of all new compositions since her award winning Next Ride Out album in 2009. In that time, the Americana songstress has toured the country and accomplished many exciting achievements, including being named a Music Connection Magazine Top 100 Live Unsigned Artist and being featured on the cover of The Indie Bible four different times. Most notably, Katie received the Songwriter of the Year award in 2012 from Songsalive!, the largest international non-profit membership organization and social community for songwriters and composers.

Follow Your Heart will be released worldwide in stores and online July 15th, 2014. Katie will headline a CD Release party on July 12th at Neck Of The Woods, located at 406 Clement Street in San Francisco, with special guests Mike Annuzzi and The Devil’s Chord opening.

Katie then heads to Nashville for several shows, including a performance at her sponsor’s store, Two Old Hippies, and at the summer 2014 NAMM event. Late summer and fall tour dates will also be announced on her website in the next few weeks.

Follow Your Heart will be released Direct-to-Fans via Katie’s website on Tuesday July 1st, 2014, and Digitally and Physically worldwide on July 15th, 2014.

NC Americana Acoustic Duo The Everydays Release Highly Anticipated Debut CD

Asheville, NC – Much to the excitement of Americana music fans worldwide, the highly anticipated debut CD by The Everyday's has been released! The Everydays, from Black Mountain, North Carolina, is the collaborative effort between singer-songwriters Tim Marsh and David Zoll. Both musicians also maintain membership in several area acts including Chalwa, Asheville Horns and Bayou Diesel. Tim Marsh and David Zoll also perform as solo acts under their respective names. The album was recorded and engineered by J Ferris at Discfunctinonal Family studios in Asheville, NC.

Says David, “This album for us is just a collection of tunes played and recorded in a live, bare-bones style. Some we wrote individually, some together, and some learned and recorded on the spot. That was part of the fun. It started more as just having a good time playing some songs at our friend J Ferris's studio. The more we listened back, the more we thought we might have something. We were really proud of the few co-writes and the arrangements. It started as a demo, then an EP, and eventually we decided to release a ten-track album.”

The Everydays grew from the common musical interests of Marsh and Zoll who first performed together in an electric band featuring Marsh's compositions. A love for acoustic roots music and vocal harmony lead the pair to form The Everydays, turning towards a simpler, more focused sound. The duo's musical influences range from Doc Watson, Clarence White and The Beatles to Simon & Garfunkel, CS&N, and the Grateful Dead.

"Meet The Everydays, the sweeter, subtler side of two local rockers; sincere songs with seventies swagger and timeless musicianship" - Laura Blackley, WNCW Host of Local Color

"A finely crafted album...moody and textural, showcasing Zoll and Marsh's tasteful and complimentary guitar and vocal stylings." - Alli Marshell, Mountain Xpress

"The Everydays have created satisfyingly sincere songs, sung by soul-siblings with stirring stories to share". -Jonathan Scales, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra

The Everydays are currently performing in support of their self-titled debut, which has been receiving substantial airplay on 88.7 WNCW in Spindale, NC. In closing David has this to convey, “Love. Listen. Enjoy the tunes and the delivery. Dynamics. We feel like the real message will be delivered with our next album, which is already in the works.”

NC Americana Music Artist Tokyo Rosenthal To Host Syndicated Radio Show

Chapel Hill, NC - Rock & Sock Records recording artist, Tokyo Rosenthal, has been selected to host a weekly, syndicated radio show featuring live performances by Americana singer-songwriters. The show, aptly titled "The Tokyo Rosenthal Program", will be recorded "live to disc" beginning June 5th. Distribution of the program will be worldwide.

The show will emanate from The Pittsboro Roadhouse in Pittsboro, North Carolina before a live audience. Pittsboro is situated adjacent to "The Triangle" of North Carolina which includes Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh.

The format will have "Toke" as the performing host as well as weekly guests from all over the country. Rosenthal likes to say that the program will be akin to the old "Johnny Cash Show" on TV. "I will be opening the show with a couple of tunes before bringing on the guests," said Rosenthal. "And before the evening is over I'm sure there will be some jamming as well. The highlight of Johnny's show for me was when he played with Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and his other guests. We're gonna have some fun like that and we're going to keep it organic and not over produced." Tokyo's touring partner, Daniele Cagnotto, known the world over as Manguss, will be accompanying Toke as well as the guests on occasion.

The Pittsboro Roadhouse has been a major player in North Carolina music for a while and was a natural choice to host the area's first syndicated radio show."We're pleased that Tokyo singled out the Pittsboro Roadhouse as the ideal venue for his new Americana music show," said owner Greg Lewis. "We've been impressed with Tokyo since he first performed on our stage and are pleased that we can partner with him. The show fits right in with Pittsboro's growth as an exciting center for both the visual arts and live music."

Stations and networks are signing up now for the one hour weekly broadcast. Those already on board include WCHL (the show's flagship station in Chapel Hill), CMR Nashville, Wrecking Ball Radio, and The Wildman Steve Network. Over the next several weeks Rosenthal and company will announce the affiliates as well as the weekly schedule of guests. Plans are also in the works for a video version of the show.

Tokyo Rosenthal is an award winning singer-songwriter from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. His last album, "Tokyo's Fifth", placed high on all the Americana Charts, received critical acclaim, and earned him an honor in Ireland for the song, "Killaloe". The video of the single, "What Did I Used To Be?', went "mini viral". Toke's next studio release is scheduled for January 2015.

Auburn’s New Album ‘Nashville’ Released On The Heels Of Recent UK Tour With Legendary Jefferson Starship

“Fronted by a tremendous vocalist in Liz Lenten… the group create mature heartfelt melodies for a new generation” Morning Star Online

London, UK - 2014 is already proving to be a hugely exciting year for acoustic ensemble Auburn, who reformed in 2011 after almost a decade apart. With a new album and a major UK tour supporting the legendary Jefferson Starship as they celebrated their 40th anniversary, Auburn have been captivating audiences around the country with their unique blend of Americana, blues and roots music.

The new album, ‘Nashville’, features 12 newly-penned songs from singer-songwriter and Auburn lynchpin Liz Lenten, and establishes Auburn’s place as a compelling force in contemporary Americana. Showcasing Liz’s versatility as both a writer and vocalist, Nashville’s sonic world fuses elements of blues, country and roots music, with soulful lyrics and catchy pop rhythms.

Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with award-winning producer Thomm Jutz (Nanci Griffiths, Mary Gauthier) ‘Nashville’ features musicians who have played with everyone from Roy Orbison to Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton. Three tracks from the album were made available on ReverbNation prior to its release and within a few weeks had reached No.1 in the UK Americana charts and No.7 in the Global Americana charts.

Auburn were delighted to be asked to support the legendary rock band Jefferson Starship on the band’s 40th anniversary tour during January and February 2014. The 11-date tour gave them the opportunity to showcase new material from the Nashville album to large audiences across the UK, where the feedback was unanimously positive. Liz was invited on stage at the end of each night to perform with Jefferson Starship on their closing number ‘The Volunteers’.

Following this success, Auburn are now lining up dates for festivals and gigs throughout 2014 and beyond, and are already working on new material, as well as a new video from the tour.
