Los Angeles, CA - British guitar maestro Snowy White might not be the first guitarist you think of when the band Pink Floyd gets mentioned, but for decades he has been one of the most vital parts of Floyd’s, and later Roger Waters’, incredible live shows. Similarly, vocalist Durga McBroom has performed backing vocals for Pink Floyd since the group’s 1987 A Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour. London based songwriter Anouska Taylor is back with new song 'Awaken'

 

London based soul-pop singer-songwriter, performer and vocal coach Anouska Taylor is back with a gorgeous new ballad, ‘Awaken’. Back in the UK after spending 12 years living in Melbourne, highlights from Anouska’s career as a performer include her soloist performance for the ‘Carols by Candlelight’ concert attended by over 25,000 people (Melbourne) and singing at her own sold-out Eva Cassidy Unplugged show (Recital Centre, Melbourne). As a solo artist and singer-songwriter, Anouska is now stepping into the spotlight and enriching the acoustic pop landscape with her soulful sound.

Australian artist ELASKIA releases captivating release 'Better'

An artist growing with each release, Elaskia is destined to have her name in the lights within a matter of months. With great success in her songwriting, Elaskia’s debut single ‘Calling Out My Name’ was featured in the hit American TV broadcast and worldwide Netflix series ‘Dynasty’ as well as ‘Marvel’s Runaways. Back with dance-pop infused new single ‘Better’, the new release was written during the last Australian Lockdown.

Sharing her thoughts on the exceptional new track, Elaskia explains, “I wrote this about realising your own worth even when someone else doesn't. I think some people confuse self-worth with being selfish and this is the exact opposite of that. It's about knowing what you deserve and not being afraid to stand up for that.”

Like the rest of the world, the Lockdown affected Elaskia and her close friends. Adding to this, the songwriter shares, “During that time I found that a few of them were experiencing relationships and situations where they felt stuck and almost like they had to settle where they were because nothing else was happening. It was really sad to see that happen to people I think the world of and I guess that's what initially inspired me to write 'Better'. The track “Kneel To Nothing” emphasises the band's bewilderment brought about by our modern world; a world of technological information overload, of uncertainty and post-truth messages. Songwriter Lef explains more “We're not preaching, we'd rather leave the lyrics open to different interpretations, but I guess this is one possible interpretation of the 'Kneel To Nothing' lyrics. 

“As musicians, we collaborate across the miles thanks to the internet, so it goes without saying we aren't against technology in general, but at the same time, it's unarguably clear that the same technology has successfully made its way inside our bodies (and lives) in a potentially dangerous way in the last 20 years.

“How we react to impulses, live our relationships, and feel in general has become deeply influenced by new tech. We all seem to be trying to outdo each other, we can't get enough of this constant competition through social media, and it's making us more insular in real life. We also place an innate trust in the strength of our senses, but in a evolutionary perspective, we could end up diminishing of all our senses due to our evolving lifestyle. We’re becoming too lazy to read an article - let alone a book, too bored to listen to a song that is longer than 3 minutes, and we relentlessly skip from one impulse to another without really feeling anything. In a way we're therefore 'slaves'. It's not as spooky as the visionary movie directors from the past have pictured it, but it's happening in a subtler, yet still potentially hazardous way. We have somehow we've become both devoted and addicted to our smart phones”

The forthcoming album Ramagehead was created from the band's collective vision, unique influences and a multi-layered reflection of their powerful and engaging live experience. The resulting epic contains all the ingredients of a fiery O.R.k. performance with dark and heavy riffing, mesmeric atmospheres. Recorded during 2018 at LefMusicStudio (Italy), The Wormhole (USA) and Nightspace (UK). The mixing for Ramagehead was handled by Adrian Benavides and three-time Grammy-winning engineer Marc Urselli (U2, Foo Fighters, Nick Cave), the mastering by Michael Fossenkemper, engineering by Benavides and Bill Munyon (King Crimson), cover art by Adam Jones (TOOL) and design by Denis Rodier (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman). Los Angeles, CA - When legendary producer/songwriter Todd Rundgren went looking for special guests to collaborate with on his newest album White Knight (released 5/12/17 by Cleopatra Records) one of the more surprising yet enormously successful choices was electro R&B superstar DāM-FunK. Bay Area Rock Songstress Karney to Release Her New Singles Vol. 2: Restless Wind w/ Same Song This Fall

Upcoming Full-Length Album Renditions To Be Released Early 2017

San Francisco - Karney is a San Francisco-based singer/songwriter that has been making great music for many years, performing across the US and collaborating with many talented and notable artists. Keeping her mind on social justice and positive messages, her lyrical content offers a sardonic and sometimes straight forward approach to many of the issues facing people today, with a message of hope resonating throughout every song she writes. Karney is digitally releasing a handful of new songs between August and the end of 2016 in support of her upcoming full-length album Renditions, due out in early 2017.

While Karney’s eclectic songwriting is based in solid musicianship, her new material echoes a diverse set of musical influences. She will release a series of digital EP’s, featuring a few different renditions of her new songs on each, through her own independent record label, Karney Music & Sound. The second in the series, Singles Vol. 2: Restless Wind w/ Same Song, was released on November 18th, 2016. This digital EP will include 2 versions of the track “Restless Wind” ranging from a solo acoustic to a full rock band version with drums, bass, electric guitars, overdubs and top notch production. The release will also include solo acoustic to a full rock band version of “Same Song.”

Some songs in the upcoming series will feature additional remixes rendered by some of Karney’s producer colleagues and friends, exploring Karney’s music in an assortment of other styles. These releases will culminate in a full album of recordings titled Renditions, which has a tentative release of March 2017.

For this body of work, Karney has been collaborating with other Producers and musical artists in the SF Bay Area such as: Producer/engineer Mark Pistel (Michael Franti, Grace Jones, Chuck Prophet, www.markpistel.com); Producer/Engineer Michael Rosen (Rancid, Tesla, Smashmouth, Santana, and Papa Roach, www.michaelsrosen.com); Adam Munoz (Herbie Hancock, Dave Mathews, Branford Marsalis, Joshua Bell, Chester Thompson and Lyle Lovett); and renown trumpet player, recording artist and producer Bill Ortiz (Santana, Destiny's Child, Tito Puente, Tony Toni Tone, www.billortiz.com).

Also joining Karney on these new recordings are members of her live band, including long time musicians Jeff Herrera (Drums), Kimon Manolius (Bass and Vocals) and Mike Doyle (Guitar), while Karney holds down Guitar and Lead Vocals and Keyboards on all songs.

Additionally, Karney is very excited to be working with New York based visual artist Susan Kaprov, who will bring a dynamic visual interpretation to her songs with assorted artwork. Karney has had a diverse musical career, having spent many years composing music for computer games with credits such as Monkey Island IV, Star Wars Galaxies, Armed and Dangerous, many Sim City titles, Metal Dungeon, Death Jr. and many more.

She is also now adding youth choral director to her list of musical endeavors, having recently received the esteemed “Dreamcatcher” award from the Visual and Performing Arts division of the San Francisco Unified School District for her work as a choral teacher and conductor for middle and high school students, as well as her contribution to the furthering of music education in the San Francisco public school system.

Karney has created music in the ballet and contemporary dance world for many choreographers and dancers such as Edward Valela, Anna Sokolo, San Francisco Ballet School, Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, Oberlin Dance Collective, Richard Gibson and The Academy of Ballet, June Watanabe, Joe Goode, Lucas Hoving, Ed Mock, Janice Garret, Melissa Fenley and many, many more. She also composed her Opus 1 Chaconne Sur Sept for nationally renowned contemporary music group, Earplay Ensemble. In addition, Karney was composer in residence at Mills College graduate dance department, San Francisco State’s graduate dance department.

Alternative Rockers Lunden Reign Release Poignant New Single & Video “Red Wagon (Can't Return To Yesterday)”

Los Angeles - Lunden Reign's recent CrueFest concert at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood proved to be yet another powerhouse show. While sharing the stage with heavy hitters L.A. Story, Westfield Massacre and Blacklist Union, Nikki & Laura along with bassist Matt Denis, Julian Tomarin (guitar) and Matt Lucich (drums) brought that unmistakable Lunden Reign vibe to the Whisky and the packed house it entertained.

Their set rocked out with​ 4 brand new songs set to release on their ​upcoming album including the title track “Confessions” and “Red Wagon”. Nikki wooed those packed tight up to the stage with “Stardust Daze” and topped it off with the edgy and environmentally charged “Fate of the World”, bringing tears to the eyes of several fans.

Their just released first single and video “Red Wagon (Can't Return To Yesterday)” is the first of 10 songs from “Confessions”. Both the song and video have been submitted and accepted for Grammy consideration in “BEST VIDEO” and “BEST NEW SINGLE” categories.

Says Nikki, “I'm really thrilled about this next record. "Red Wagon" is a powerhouse, and a couple of the other songs hit me super hard which makes them easy to perform emotionally. ​Lunden Reign is composed of two core members: Nikki Lunden (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Composer) and Laura Espinoza-Lunden (Guitar/Composer).
